Halloween seems to kick off the season of indulgent sweets, and by the time New Year’s gets here, most people’s #1 resolution is getting back in shape! We’re definitely faced with a lot of situations that test our willpower. People are biologically addicted to sugar and some of us are genetically more prone to crave sugar than others. Too much sugar, bad carbs and processed foods can lead to poor mood and cravings, leading to emotional eating or binge eating, and drives weight gain. It can cause regret, depression and stress. And increased stress can change cortisol levels, which can further lead to more weight gain. The good news is is that we can do something about it!
