IN THIS EPISODE: This week on the General Hospital Snark Snarkcast, we dive headfirst into the chaos with Episode 39—because Port Charles is still the most corrupt little town on daytime TV, and we’re still obsessed.

We start with the exciting news about David’s (Snark, Jr.) new project, Butterfly, with Daniel Dae Kim, which has us hopeful about competent storytelling happening somewhere. Meanwhile, Sidwell’s plot is finally heating up, and while we love a man with ambition, did he really need the judge in his pocket? Mama drops a few Plot Whispers, and the Daisy situation is looking… kidnap-y.

Speaking of potential disasters, we tackle Jordan and Isaiah’s maybe-most-likely-not-romance, Portia’s PR problem, and the return of the Blame & Guilt Trope™. Seriously, GH writers, buy a new trope. Also, what is happening with Grumpy Cat Gio and Sad Boi Dante? Someone please hand them both a cookie and a better storyline.

Sasha needs to be a single mom, Sonny keeps almost-leaving the mob like it’s a gym membership, and Liz, Krissie, and Ric are wandering through drama with no map. Oh, and the adoption storyline? Let’s just say it’s not the tribute adopted kids deserve. Also, will it ever end?

We mourn the continued absence of Julian Jerome, talk about our love for Lucas and Marco, and wonder what alternate universe birthed the charisma vacuum known as Cody. But hey, even Drew is starting to look interesting in comparison. He's still Eww Drew, but at least he's something new!

Also: murder mystery tease? Don’t hold your breath. GH has no idea how to end a story unless it’s with a spontaneous coma or a random trip to Amsterdam.

Our Characters of the Week bring a flicker of hope, we drop a soap recommendation (go binge Another World on YouTube—you’re welcome), and we close with Text Messages from Wicked Stepmother.

This week, we kick things off with some casting news thathas us buzzing—Erika Slezak (yes, that Erika Slezak!) is heading to Port Charles, and we are already planning the parade. Will she reprise her role as Viki Lord? Monica’s secret sibling? We share some of our favorite fantheories.

We also break down the custody trial verdict, andlet’s just say… WOW. Speaking of things missing in action, Lucky Spencer is apparently heading out to find himself (again), bringing his middle-aged son Aiden with him, and quietly vanishing into the Port Charles fog.

In character drama, we try to make sense of Catatonic CultBarbie, pitch a much-needed Lucky recast, and dream about the storyline Liz actually deserves. Plus: is Ava really flirting with Cody or is this another Kristina Koncept that will blow up in her face? What exactly is Natalia’s endgame? And why does Marty still feel like Scotty with a Southern drawl?

Episode 34 - Filmed Friday, May 16, 2025

This week’s podcast begins with Snark, Jr’s beef with Mama Snark. We kick things off with very embarrassing Glamour Shots (Mama and David reveal all!) before reviewing the soap trope du jour: every single story is based on secrets, secrets, and, believe it or not, secrets. Cody had a plot twist he didn’t see coming (hello, surprise Dante baby!), while Lucky’s out here covering for Kristina like he’s invested in her future.

Meanwhile, Liz and Lucas spill the tea, and we officially crown our Characters of the Week — one for her constant chaos, the other for giving us a break from it. We tackle The Carly Conundrum, speculate on The Kai and Trina Problem (can it be fixed?), and reflect on The Husband Problem — a recurring GH issue with every leading man who gets married. And, of course, Drew continues to be the gift that keeps on giving, mostly in the “what fresh hell is this?” department.

We’re already popping popcorn in anticipation of the courtroom showdown between Carly and Drew (really, Willow and Michael, but let’s be serious), snarking everything in sight. It’s messy, it’s glorious — it’s soap heaven.
