Myra and Kangwa are college sweethearts, and have been living in Malaysia since they met each other in university. However, it was by chance during a visit to Zambia that Myra wasn’t able to return to Malaysia to give birth to their first child - their daughter Mia. The couple share about how this has affected Myra’s ability to pass on her Malaysian nationality to their daughter, and how they’re raising their family despite the challenges brought on by Mia’s non-citizenship status.

It's being called a Code Red for Humanity. The latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, which was prepared by 234 scientists from 66 countries, highlights how human influence has warmed the climate at a rate that is unprecedented in at least the last 2,000 years. This sobering assessment - endorsed by the world's governments - is the first major review of the science of climate change since 2013. What does it predict and what needs to be done to prevent more catastrophe? But aside from contending with short attention spans and a lack of interest from the public, environmental journalism also faces other challenges - lack of scientific or environmental training, a lack of resources or support from news editorials, and sponsors, and more. So what keeps environmental journalists going, and what role does environmental journalism play in combating what it called one of the greatest challenges of our time, climate change? Two journalists who report on environmental issues, Macaranga’s Law Yao Hua and Wong Kai Hui, join us to share their views.
