Hello everyone! Today our guest is actually one of our hosts, Megan! We decided that introductions were in order for members of the team, and this is the first in a set of planned episodes. Megan is a queer woman with a background in theatre, and with her we talk about the process of realising one’s sexuality, the thought processes that can occur as you start coming out, and the way things can change after you do. Check a listen to get to know one of our hosts better.

Heya folks, today we talk to Harry, a gay man and Livie, a queer person who says goodbye to labels. Today we talk about the arts (as always), relaxed coming out experiences, and the ways we can present ourselves before fully coming out. This includes topics like the ways privilege can emerge in artistic pieces, as well as a recent project from our guests, a theatre piece called Arrival presented at the Festival for Australian Student Theatre(FAST). Check a listen and enjoy!

Happy 20 bi-teen. To kick off the year we welcome Arden into the space. Asexual, agender and just all around queer, we discuss with Arden the importance of pronouns and how it feels to be misgendered as well as what it’s like trying to medically transition as a nonbinary person.

On today’s episode we have a discussion with the lovely Luxie, a bi woman and Uni student who was happy to talk to us about her experiences in and around Brisbane. This includes feeling unwelcome in the LGBT community for “being too straight”, the conflicting feelings of realising your sexuality, and the treatment of bi people by media and society. Part 2 of our discussion with the fine folks, Siobhan and Nikki. This time around we talk the intricacies of nonbinary existence, including nonbinary transitioning, binding, and gendered language in genderless/gender-diverse relationships. We also talk about the emotional labour of education, especially when it is unexpected. And, (to finish up our last episode for the year!!!!) Megan and Tahlya work double time on validating the wonderful folks that listen in over the summertime.

This is the 2nd part of our interview with ‘The Gentleman Peacock’ Zane C Weber, so if you haven’t listened to part one, check a look: https://www.thatsnotcanonproductions.com/generalqueeriespodcast/episode7
In this part we shift our focus a little towards gender and romance and their independence from sexuality, as well as Zane’s coming out experience and how he handles his identity around other people. On top of this, Zane gives us a little more insight into the kink community. Enjoy!
