In this episode of #GOTDialog, we walk through the harrowing themes of church trauma, hurt and abuse. Join us for an intimate and honest conversation as Jon Koo bravely shares his journey from youthful idealism to painful disappointments. Discover how Jon's initial passion for ministry later became tainted with disillusionment and distress, explore the impact of heavy-handed leadership style in churches, and learn that healing is possible, and how to be restored. We discuss our hopes of restoring trust and faith in the Church, and also leadership, amidst trauma.
𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄: In this episode, we have sought to keep the dialog real, raw, and relevant, to stay as true and as close as possible to Jon’s personal story, hence have left the dialog pretty much uncut. At the same time, we also want to be respectful to the larger Body of Christ, and therefore have censored certain moments, in order to protect the identities of the people and churches that may have been mentioned. We hope this episode will be a blessing and will stir and encourage heathy and important conversations both within and without the Church.
