Welcome back to the Self-Care Toolbox series! So far, we have discussed self-care as a habit largely formed outside the confines of whatever takes up our day-to-day life - whether that be school, work, or relationships with others. But the truth is, the environments that we spend most of our time in are sometimes the most effective places in which we can practice self-care. If you find yourself occasionally feeling stressed, burnt out, unfocused, or just not your best in your daily life, then this episode is for you. Hopefully it will give us all a chance to re-center and remember that at the end of the day, our health is more important than anything.

We have reached the point of the Self-Care Toolbox series where it's time to take action! In case you missed it, this series is designed to help you think through self-care in a new way - viewing it as an iterative journey to find even just ONE practice that works for you, regardless of what's trending on TikTok or has the most research backing it.
In this episode, I cover the importance of creating your own "master list" of self-care that sounds interesting to you; determining what roadblocks to self-care currently exist in your life; and deciding what sacrifices you are able and willing to make right now, thus helping you choose the "right" self-care for you.

I'm so excited to start a new series & bring more structure to the podcast! For the next few weeks, we'll be exploring self-care - but not in the ways you think. The self-care "toolbox" approach aims to help you build a solid foundation of self-care habits, by first VALIDATING the struggles inherent in practicing self-care.
This episode dives into the inherent struggle of finding energy & motivation to take care of yourself -- a huge roadblock that prevents many of us from getting started. I chat through why this can be a hindrance especially given societal pressures, and then share some tangible tips that have helped me find the energy to practice authentic self-care practices.

If you can be a bit of a control freak like me, then this episode is for you!
Over the past several months, I've been confronted with the reality that trying to control everything in my life is actually sabotaging my growth, peace, and happiness - in pretty much every area. Love that! :)
That said, I've reflected on a few things in relation to this need for control:
1) How did I get here, AKA what in my past has caused me to become this way?
2) What does being a "control freak" really mean? What are the true symptoms & how could they be affecting my daily life?
3) What do I do about this? What is the solution?
Whether you experience a need for control in a professional setting (like school or work), in relationships with people in your life, in your health & wellness journey, or anything else, this episode is designed to reassure you that you are NOT alone while offering tangible tips to help you let go and be okay with the unknown, rather than anxious in the uncertainty that is life.

Welcome back! This episode is a lot, so buckle up.
Lately, I've realized the importance of making decisions that align with my values rather than other people's. Whether we like it or not, many of us get so accustomed to living life on other people's terms, which can make identifying our own values difficult. In this episode, I share a few experiences that have forced me to reflect on what's really important - AND, more importantly, provide some exercises that have helped me identify my values so that you can feel supported in identifying your own.
Identifying your values is a challenge in itself, and then there's the task of actually living them out, so I empathize if you are struggling... same. That said, I hope this episode can empower you to spend just a little more time finding yourself and living in accordance to what you value most.

I am constantly amazed by how much of our worth we all place into a social media platform. From spending hours agonizing over our posts to spending hours scrolling and feeling bad about ourselves, it seems to be a never-ending cycle. In this episode, I chat through some of the trends I've seen Instagram users making more recently, but also share my thoughts around how the platform remains a breeding ground for comparison, negativity, and lack of self-worth. Most importantly, though, I want this episode to inspire us all to get a little more intentional about how much power we give Instagram in our lives. Hopefully, we can all walk away ready to make Instagram what we want and find our own internal validation rather than seeking external validation through social media.

Lately I've been going through a seemingly random slump of body image issues, which got me thinking... why does it still feel like I am alone in some of our struggles, and what can be done to alleviate them? My hope is that by getting real on the topic, I can bring more awareness and relatability around not always feeling great about our appearance. If you struggle, you aren't alone!
