I explore the topic of family. Is there genuine, human connection between people who share the same blood relation? Why or why not? Is genuine, human connection, a choice, or a fate thrust upon us? Is connection genuine if it’s obligatory?

Fear separates people, and fear about ourselves causes shame that prevents us from connecting. This is Lori Booth. In this episode of Genuine Human Connection, I investigate fear.
Nothing I have encountered in my research would seem to be a larger inhibitor to connection among humans as fear. One can point to many human behaviors that anger and separate one person from another, yet at the core of almost each of these behaviors lies a fear that provoked that behavior to manifest outwardly.

Jay Triiiple is a storyteller whose confidence and attention to detail create a standout lane for the Denver based MC. Using music as a major form of expression is the ultimate formula for dynamic hip-hop and Jay Triiiple exemplifies that inspiring energy. She raps about her life experiences with an authentic and relatable voice, all while crafting rhymes around production that speak to her true influences.
Artists like Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, Biggie and TI are some of Triiiple’s influences as she hones and refines her craft as an MC. In addition to being a microphone slayer, she says it’s important to remain connected to the big picture of the world and using her voice to make a difference.
“With music I’m able to give back, help others achieve their own goals, help them feel better about themselves, and face my demons and encourage my listeners to do the same. My goal is to embrace all of my journey, face life despite any fear or pain, embrace love and all that it is, motivate and have faith while doing it,” she says.
Jay Triiiple is raw talent, undeniable hustle and charisma. It’s the rush of crafting clever punchlines and original metaphors that keeps Triiiple married to the rap game. “Loser’s Table,” the crew Jay Triiiple calls her team is about bucking the norm, creating music that gives a voice to the voiceless and drives all within ear shot to action.

In asking how I can create genuine human connection with others, I realized I needed to go a step back and investigate what this thing even is. What is genuine human connection? I don’t even know…
