Georgian Bay Roots Summerfolk 2022! This special episode is part Summerfolk greatest hits, and part marking the time of summer when Saugeen and Neyaashiinigmiing host their powwows.
Things start in high gear with an OLP classic, followed by Chippewa Travellers, Rick Fines, Beverly Glenn Copeland, back to back gems from Helen Roy, some dancey numbers from The Magic and Lemon Bucket Orchestra, deep cuts from Gene Parsons and Tom Rush, a happy tune from Fred Eaglesmith for all you Fredheads out there and a Connie Kaldor song for the paddlers. It all wraps up with a cut from the Sadies' new album and a message from Buffy Ste. Marie.
    Chi migwetch, thanks for listening!

THE SUMMERFOLK SCHEDULE IS OUT! Yay! You can check it out right now at www.summerfolk.org and begin to map out your festival experience. You'll want to check it out early and make some plans and, as a heads up, you might have to be strategic...because as it's been for the last 46 years, there will be LOTS of amazing music happening at this year's festival. Tune in this week to catch music by Summerfolk alumni Sarah Harmer and Tim Harrison, and Summerfolk 47 artists Morgan X Barrie, Le Vent Du Nord, Mimi O'Bonsawin, David Newland, Briar Summers, RPR, Steve Poltz, Leela Gilday, The Mackenzie Blues Band, Danny Michel, and Camryn Ruthven!

Do you like camping? Bruce Lindsay does! That's where this show starts before diving deep into live music appearing on stages locally. On this episode's playlist, appearing at Electric Eclectics, shn shn and Laura Ortman, from Festival du Loup, Diable à 5, coming to Georgian Shores United Church in August, Joyful Joyful, at the Red Door and more, Amber May, and at Summerfolk: Puuluup, OKAN, Aysanabee, Boogàt, Steve Poltz (with a little help from Jewel, who won't be appearing at Summerfolk), Le Vent du Nord, and Jacob Corston. Finally, I can only hope to see Ansley Simpson live somewhere this summer, in the meantime check out a track from her brand new album, all on this week's installment of Georgian Bay Roots.

About Georgian Bay Roots

From the publisher's feed

For 8 years we were a weekly radio show based in Owen Sound, Ontario and presented by the Georgian Bay Folk Society. We shared music made in and played in Grey and Bruce counties with folk and roots music from across Canada and around the world thrown into the mix.
