  • Georgian Bay Roots #283 March 6, 2022 Dallas Good Tribute (with Tom)
From beginning to end, it's a dedication to the life work of one of this country's greatest guitar slingers; in memory of Dallas Good. The playlist runs the gamut from the Good Family through a generous sampling of the Sadies at work with their many collaborators: Buffy Ste. Marie, John Doe, Neko Case, Kurt Vile, Neil Young & Garth Hudson, Andre Williams, Robyn Hitchcock and Canadian supergroup the Unintended.
We dig into all things Dallas with a deep cut from his band Phonocomb covering a Brian Eno classic, Mr. Good playing bass with Shadowy Men from a Shadowy Planet, and, for good measure, a few tunes from the Sadies themselves including Dallas singing en français, the Sadies + vibes courtesy of Paul Aucoin, the Sadies covering the Byrds and more. As a special bonus, Les Sultans, Québecois garage rock recommended by the late great man himself.
    Rest in Peace Dallas Good.
