As we head toward our end-of-year reviews and re-assessments. What didn't you accomplish; here are 3 ideas about why change is difficult and you aren't always successful.

Germ of Motivation.

Great leaders know the values of the people on their teams. Intrinsic motivation isn't just the responsibility of the individual.

I use VIA Institute on Character to uncover values and motivation.

I believe that organizations and leaders focus on the extrinsic because it is easy. Pay, bonus, commissions, promotions, awards... But the area of most impact is understanding your team as individuals and knowing their values and motivations. And most managers need to learn more about the people who work for them.
