Im not going to lie. I wanted to kill Zach before I finished reading four chapters.

But keep going.because you know what? CC does it again. She brings these human, flawed, wonderful characters to life and I became utterly invested in seeing the turnaround in Zachs attitude and behavior (which he totally does best redeemed character Ive read in a long time). Also getting to see Aaron, who is honestly practically perfect in every way, actually being so well cared for (for a change) is wonderful. You need to see them get their HEA and I am so pleased with the way CC gets us to that point.

He Completes Me is tied with Walk With Me as my favorite in the Home collection series. Probably because, like Eli, Zach is snarky and wonderfully humorous. Seeing Zach grow from being a self-absorbed asshole to a loving, caring partner, while still retaining his snark, just makes me happy.

He Completes Me is told entirely from Zachs perspective, and though I wish I could get Aarons perspective as well, Zachs humor and sarcasm is enough to keep me thoroughly entertained. Collins captures Zach and Aarons personalities so well, he is just a pure pleasure to listen to. And my god, the sex scenes? We should have a SUPER-SCORCHER rating for them!

Each of the stories in the Home collection may be easily read as a standalone and you do not have to read them in any particular order. For me, one of the perks is getting to see characters I love from the other books in the series, like Jake and Nate (from Where He Ends and I Begin) and Eli and Seth (from Walk With Me) in particular, make appearances in the other stories its just a real treat.

This story just makes me happy.

Possibly the most enjoyable mystery romance I've ever read! Quintessential Lanyon!

When it comes to mystery and gay romance, no other author writes with the mastery and confidence of Josh Lanyon. His story pulls you in immediately and you know that you're in for a completely entertaining romantic adventure.

Lanyon seems to have a formula that always works and always feels new. I say "formula" only because his lovers tend to always start off at odds; one always seems more gruff, restrained, and in the closet. And circumstances conspire to bring the two together often until their mutual attraction is too compelling to ignore.

But I happen to really enjoy a love story where the lovers aren't hopping into bed in the second chapter, but instead have to learn each other's ways, work through misunderstandings and mistakes, and finally develop a true positive regard and appreciation for each other. The hot sex is the icing on the cake,

The mystery itself in this particular story was more moving and engaging because the main character is so very personally involved for the beginning. So much is at stake for him as much as for the possible suspects. Elements of the spoiled rich and class consciousness and references to The Great Gatsby all combine to lend a haunted atmosphere, both ethereal and dangerous. And classic Lanyon.

Cinderfella Lives HEA

An annoying protagonist, a hot attorney, decent sex scenes and a story with enough plot holes to drive Cinderella's carriage through add up to a mediocre read. Try Snowball in Hell instead.

Josh Lanyon writes in the style of Hitchcock

I must admit that at first I was unimpressed by the mystery that Mr. Lanyon wrote. However, as the story unfolded, it became clear to me that this was more thriller then mystery. Just like the classic Alfred Hitchcock hero who is in trouble and does not know why, we meet a young newspaper reporter from a small town who is given the chance of a lifetime -- to write about a modern Lindbergh baby kidnapping case with the permission of the family. Slowly but surely as the facts reveal themselves, much more is going on then just the investigation of a 25-year-old crime.

This is the kind of romantic mush that just makes me melt. I'm a romantic at heart, and sometimes it's hard for me to decide whether I want to be the one doing the romancing, or the one being romanced. Lucky for me that with lesbian books, I get to be both... at least in my head. What happens when you have a vacation romance that leaves you both wanting more, but neither of you feels like you can push to continue things? You go home and do a lot of remembering of what happened and mourning what might have been. And what happens when you suddenly run in to that holiday crush right in your own city? Well, probably not what Peyton does.

I really liked this book. Logan was able to get Peyton out of her head, while on vacation, and in to the now. And the now apparently included a lot of hot sex for the two of them. The connection was so intense and visceral, that both are still thinking of the other long after they've said goodbye. And with a second chance provided by a surprise meeting, you'd think both would grab on and jump in. After all, that's what they've both been wishing they'd done. But Peyton has issues that hold her back. And make me want to just smack her upside the head. In the end, Peyton has a choice to make, and finally sees exactly what her choices would lead to.

I also liked Abby Craden's narration. She had a definite voice for each character, although there was a slip once or twice that made me go back and listen again to make sure I knew which character was speaking. All in all, a sweet, sexy listen that definitely made my day go by faster.

I'm In Love

For the most part I liked this story a lot; in fact I fell totally in love with Logan. Therefore I became utterly confused by the way she kept chasing Peyton the Squish, the weak willed woman who lacked the ovaries to stand up to anyone but Logan. There were of course all the assumptions gone wrong and misunderstandings inherent in romance novels along with decisions that seem to lack coherence. So obviously in my opinion it was the Logan character who made this audiobook; it was her that got this selection five stars from me.

This is a great love story that will frustrate you because Payton won't take the time to learn the word NO...

I love Logan, and how she brought out the best in Payton. I found the story engaging and enjoyable to listen to.

Gerri Hill is a great writer, and the narration was of course amazing.

So yeah, you should read this book. it's worth it..

Having just listened to The Thing I Didnt Know I Didnt Know I was up to date on whats been happening in Russels life. Barefoot in the City of Broken Dreams picks up a few months after the first story leaves off, with twenty-four year old Russel Middlebrook and his boyfriend, Kevin Land, having moved to Los Angeles so Russel can try to make it as a screenwriter.

I wanted to like the story, I really did, but in truth I didnt connect with it. Again told completely from Russels POV, I felt like he was a lot more self-centered in this story than the last.

I liked some things, but didnt like others. I liked Kevin and seeing them together, but didnt like the way Russel treated Kevin for most of the story. I liked Otto and was happy to see him succeed. I didnt like or see the point of Daniels storyline.

I felt like Russels ambition in this eclipsed his relationship at times, and Im sorry to admit the whole storyline of his screenplay and broken dreams just bored me.

Also, I didnt understand what happened to Russels friends Gunnar and Minh. No phone calls or even a single mention? What happened to them?

Once again though, I really enjoyed the narration.

Good book but dark and heavy.

Trigger warnings - non consensual sex and some pretty brutal violence take place in this book and not just in the "off stage" kind of suggested way. It is pretty graphic.

That said, I really loved this book. It is full of some intensely damaged main characters and addresses some pretty heavy stuff. Love the supporting characters and the journey that the two main characters go through to get to their HEA. Not sure I could stomach listening to it over and over due to what Kane goes through - but I probably will listen again because I loved the characters.

Some will need to bypass this due to the trigger issue's but if you can get past them, this book was lovely and well worth both the time and the credit.

Breathless! At times, simply breathless!

Thank you Michele for Saving Ryan! This book made me aware of every heart beat...one beat ripping the heart with frightening moments of pure terror leaving one breathless and the next beat on the wings of vivid rousing sensual experiences leaving one breathless again...every moment, every beat mixed perfectly with the next. This is not a book for the faint of heart ..be prepared to live the pain, the joy, the anger, the violence, the intensity of love discovered, shared and lost...every single moment. I remain breathless...

Good story, poor narration

An angst-filled, rather distressing story of the psychological impacts of trauma, along with a romance, and a thriller, as the serial killer who failed to kill Kane continues to stalk him. Generally well-written, though some implausible elements of the policing and some of the sexual acts in the book, especially given the physical condition Kane is in following the attack. Nonetheless, this is much better writing than is typical of publishers like Dreamspinner. It's a pity that the quality of the narration is so far below that of the writing.

To give him his due, unlike most of the narrators in this genre, Brad Langer reads fluently and pronounces words correctly. I have given him two stars for that. However, his characterization is terrible. Langer uses the same regional accent for everyone, quite contrary to their descriptions.

The two MCs sound the same, which becomes very confusing during dialogue. Each chapter is told from one or the other MC's POV, which helps to orient the listener at the beginning, but it soon becomes confusing again. The other characters are basically variations on that theme.

A beautifully romantic, sexy fairy tale with scorching hot sexy times and terrific dirty talk!

37 year old Bradford Ford Hollingsworth III has just started his first term as a Republican congressman, following in his grandfather and father's (a long time Senator and past presidential hopeful) esteemed political footsteps. Ford has spent most of his life trying to ignore the inner voice that tells him he'll never be happy with a woman because it would mean walking away from his family and his aspirations, but with each passing year it's becoming impossible. On one of the rare occasions when he can't handle the stress of life as an up-an-coming politician he picks up an anonymous bar hookup. But once the afterglow of a truly spectacular blowjob fades, and the lights come on, Ford is horrified to find his "anonymous" hookup is none other than Trevor Moga.

42 year old Trevor Moga is the only child of the current sitting President of the United States and his politically savvy wife. Trevor's childhood was spent filled with warnings about always being careful of his actions lest he land his parents in an above-the-fold article and family time being spent focused solely on the next election has soured Trevor on all things political. Just as a side note, I loved Trevor's mother, and couldn't help but picture Emily Gilmore every time the First Lady had page time.

Of course Trevor is aware of Ford, mostly from when Ford's father would trot the family out for political press opportunities, and has always been drawn to the softness in Ford's expression and his genuineness, so when Trevor is given the opportunity to take Ford home, he does. After convincing Ford he has no agenda and they can just enjoy the night together with no strings or repercussions, Trevor determines to enjoy the time they have together, thinking it will only be for a single night.

Though neither expects to see each other again, Trevor can't get Ford, and the night they spent together, off his mind so Trevor seeks Ford out for another meeting. They begin to see each other whenever they can, in secret (of course), over the next seven months. It's helpful that Trevor is exceedingly rich, owns his own Gulfstream plane, and can afford the opulent, discreet hotels in which they meet.

Of course, neither expects to fall in love either, but they do. Seeing their relationship develop is so sweet and hot and wonderful.

Joseph Kinnon returns home from active duty in Iraq to learn that his step sister has been murdered. The Navy Seal has one mission on his mind now, finding out who killed Elisabeth and making them pay. But first Joseph has to get past or get on the good side of former Navy Seal turned Sanctuary Operative, Dale MacIntyre.

Dale takes his job very seriously. As a former Seal, he knows how they operate, kick ass then take names, and the last thing he needs muddling up the investigation into the Bullen family is a Seal with a vendetta to settle. Not to mention it would put the lives of Morgan, the witness, and Robert Bullen, the son that is feeding information to Sanctuary, in mortal danger. Since Joseph refuses to back down, Dale has no other choice than to work with the man instead of against him.

Another action packed, fast paced story with a few new players added to the mix, while the reason behind Elisabeth's shooting becomes clearer. There is something about two strong willed, alpha male types coming together that is very sexy. You could see the attraction as each man became aware of it, slowly making advances until they came to a very climaxing ending. Pun totally intended.

Sean Crisden continues to steer and create the voices that bring RJ Scott's characters to life. I particularly enjoyed Joseph, how you could tell his mood as soon as he started talking by the tone or inflection. Dale wasn't very far removed; especially I'm pissed off and want you to know I'm a big, bad, former Navy Seal Dale. My favorite aspect to this story was how the intensity of both the storyline and the characters was evident in how the story was read.

This is the second installment of a series that must be read in order, think of it as a continuation of the first story. If you don't start with Guarding Morgan, you'll be somewhat lost in the story.

Entertainingly Sweet

Overall, I loved the story! Diana and Elana are mesmerizing. I like how neither one outshines the other in terms of how loyal they are to one another. I wished someone would make this story into a movie because visually, I'm sure I would enjoy the battle and scenes even more plus there is a life lesson to be shared with many. I'm def getting Fires of Aggar!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Absolutely nothing could have made this better. The characters were cliche and underdeveloped. The plot was lacking. The story as a whole was boring, drawn out, and lacked excitement of any kind.

J. Evans is possibly one of the worst narrators. I found myself falling asleep listening to her drone on and on. Even though the story was awful, a narrator can sometimes liven things up a bit. There was hardly any variation in character. This is the first audiobook I couldn't finish.

I always try to give authors a chance. I hate leaving bad reviews but I have no idea how this even got published at all. Then, add one of the worst narrators and you get the worst book I've ever encountered. I always try to finish a book, even if I don't like it but I couldn't even make it to the end of this one. Do yourself a favor and avoid this one. It is not worth the money.

Cannot Believe Audible has this!

Would you consider the audio edition of Shadows of Aggar: Amazons Unite Edition to be better than the print version?

I have never reviewed before in my years of being a lurking customer. But to see this on Audible is incredible. The reader did a fantastic job, bringing to life characters I have loved for years. I hope that all of Chris Anne's books will make it to Audible.

Very solid continuation of a great series.

Hoarfrost mostly is business as usual, but in a good way.

It spins on the threads of plot delivered before, it adds some new, it gives more hints and explores further...

If you liked the previous books, you will also like this, I would say.

I can really only lay my finger on three things I did feel could have been better (or more to my liking) but none of it is really something missing, it is actually more what I would like for the next ones.

1. No direct appearance of Whyborne senior, I always liked how the father son relationship was worked since it always managed to subtly show that it was more complicated than just the usual "terrible father".

2. Griffin mostly on the receiving end.I just think that he makes the better dominant partner all in all, or it might be that it is that the dynamic in the first two books was more easy to relate to me personally as a gay man.

3. A bit less horror. Continuing the trend of book five in particular, it is more conciliatory towards the "eldritch horrors", which is not bad, but I do hope we get something really alien and scary again.

Other than that, it had good new characters and a very nice building of suspense, since it kept me guessing to what exactly was going on, making it both logical and vague enough to make the guessing fun.

It also elaborated more on magic in a sensible way, I especially liked that it managed to give Whyborne a difficult opponent while still staying true to characterizing him as especially powerful, that was something I really liked since it is easy to mess that up.

I hope we will hear a lot more from Whyborne and Griffin in the future as well!

The narrator also kept up his good work, I do really hope I may hear him in other books too, I like his style and voice for gay fiction and supernatural stories both.

For diehard fans only

I've enjoyed the series until this installment. Far too much time was spent in the first half explaining the previous books. This was pointless since the dense plots defy easy explanation and sound ludicrous as presented in brief. The supernatural story here was boring. Finally, not enough sex. Lol. A fan could skip this book and not miss a thing of interest. New listeners please start from the beginning, not here. Overall, a definite miss.

Mystery, danger, romance....

Well read. Jane has a sexy accent. I would love to see what happens next.

An amazing story!

I have never read a story about a lesbians. This truly amazed me. This was completely unexpected. From the elevator scene to the end I was thrilled! Truly well done!

So Many Voices, but No pictures

I enjoyed the story overall. Great dialogue and quirky, memorable characters who were, personality-wise, really well developed. I was not used to having nearly complete omniscience, though. It took until the end of the story to understand the pattern of whose voice we heard and whose we didn't. Another interesting style choice was the detail of some scenes, but the amount of picture left to the imagination. If you rely on an author to pain a room for you, this might be hard. If you are ok with little stills and limited snap-shots, it'll work fine.

Not what I expected

Initially the story seemed to be purely an f/f romance. But about halfway through the story changed to be a murder mystery. The writing style unconventional, and in some cases there were a lot of point of view changes, and many new characters were introduced when the mystery part starts, here also the main character role changes. The tale itself is captivating, and I like all the different characters and their backgrounds, these are very well developed. The narrator Anne Day-Jones does a great job brining them to life, Russian to northern accents and all. The author brings her humour and observations specific to the UK to the prose which is a nice change, and this in itself adds a lot of extra substance. I guess for me, although not jarring, maybe a better melding between to stages of the story. I kinda missed the limited interaction between Kate/Naz in the second half.

Very complex and interwoven

Would you listen to The Wrong Woman again? Why?

It was interesting with some surprising twists and turns. Very complex and interwoven. The only downside was that there were so many characters, that I found it hard to keep track of them all.
