My second favorite...

Would you listen to Fight With Me again? Why?

Yes. It was a fun story with interesting characters and some very entertaining and hot scenes.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jules. She has gumption... I liked Nate but I thought he should have had more of an edge based on how he was described.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Good overall performance. The narrator has trouble remembering what male voice she used for what character. I am glad they picked up a male narrator later in the series.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Not suitable for children under the age of seventeen. :-)

Nate Nate Nate

What can I say about Jules and Nate....I love their story. The heat between the couple is smokin' hot; they are both strong characters who have to learn to work together through all the hickups. I kept waiting for the shoe to drop and their relationship to be exposed and I was surprised by how it came about. Not what I was expecting. This was well worth acredit or purchase.

Fight With Meis the second book in the Seattle series by Kristen Proby and it is the love story of Jules and Nate. I gotta say that while I enjoyed the first book, this one is far better. I loved it!Fight With Meis a must listen for every romantic soul. It is heart-warming, full of swoon moments and a whole lot of sizzling scenes. We first met Jules inCome Away With Me, book one in the series, as Natalies roommate and best friend. Jules comes off as a feisty and independent woman who lives her life for her and takes what she wants. Nate is Jules boss and he is someone that ignites every cell in her body and sets her on fire. The problem is that the law firm both Nate and Jules work for has a strict no fraternization policy. Nate and Jules have one incredible night of passion which scares Jules. Unwilling to deal with the regret over the incredible night, Jules ends up sneaking off while Nate is asleep and then ignores him in the following weeks until he stops trying to talk to her about that one night. So repetitive

I loved the previous books in this series however the sex scenes are always so repetitive but this book is far worse Sam just kept repeating herself, as an example I want to lick your stars (tattoos) over and over again during the book. I have never known a family gathering (which is the basis of the series,) where the female characters talk about wanting orgasms ( "I want orgasms.) and talk to each other about "dick piercing" and so on. When I got to the bit where she was licking his scrotum I just had to fast forward. I enjoy sex scenes but with some variation not just repeating the same words over and over usually as soon as they arrived home her panties were wet as soon as he looked at her. Halfway thru this book I just fast forwarded all the sex scenes as they were so boring and had heard it all before. Would have loved more story or variation on the sex scenes this author is good a pity she just seemed to fill the book up repeating the same old thing. The other theme that seems strange as all the males are so jealous of the partner virtually after one meeting. I will try one more of her books probably in the hope her imagination has improved a bit.

It was so hot, but sweet at the same time.

First, It will be a more beneficial if you complete the series in order. Rock With Me is the 4th book in 'With Me in Seattle' series. This story is about Leo Nash, front man of the world famous rock group named Nash, and Samantha Williams, Luke's sister. Leo Nash has made it big in the music industry. He has it all so it seems. When he decides to go back to Seattle to see his long time "sister", Meg, he meets Samantha Williams. Leo is quickly intrigued by this sarcastic, gorgeous and witchy woman. Samantha is no stranger to the lives of the rich and famous. After all, her brother is Luke Williams. She has been terribly hurt in the past by the price of fame which has made her standoffish and unapproachable. She doesn't show many people that under her tough exterior lies a compassion and caring woman who is simply scared to take any more chances on love. Meeting Leo Nash has all her red flags on high alert. But damn is he is not hard to stay away from. Leo was the perfect mixture of sexy, bad-ass and sweet.I absolutely loved how Leo saw past Sam's walls and saw something worth fighting for in her. As the barriers Sam has erected slowly begin to come down, we see how perfect they are for one another.

Can't wait for the next book

What made the experience of listening to Hard As It Gets the most enjoyable?

I enjoyed the dialogue and characters. Nicks brother Jeremy is great. Of course the growing, hot intimacy and love between the main characters is the most compelling.

What other book might you compare Hard As It Gets to and why?

This does follow the basic romance novel formula and had most of the typical story lines of woman meets man, there's some reason they don't get together at first - or some reason that would keep them apart. It has a bit of the possessive "you are mine" type storyline - but this one differs in that the formula is there, but it's much more palatable than most. (I like romance novels, but wish - oh how I wish most weren't an insult to being an intelligent, independent woman who is also a romantic. I tire of reading formula novels. I think most of these authors all attended the same seminar on how to write romance novels.

In Hard As It Gets, I found the characters to be likeable and the romantic situations to be more believable than most. She does a good job of building characters.

What about Seraphine Valentines performance did you like?

Her performance was excellent. She really gave the characters life. I like the way she took her time narrating Becka so you got the feel of her being fresh and honest, but also fun. She was good at changing the pace of the story to suit what was happening.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Well, to be honest, It made me steamy! It's very, very hot and sexual. The dialogue did make me grin sometimes.

Any additional comments?

I wonder how she will handle the second book in the series. If it will continue the story between Becka and Nick or if she will use this world, but concentrate on a different couple as many romance series do. After all, you only Fall in love once usually! I hope she continues with Becka and Nick. I liked them. I've started listening to it again.

2 things you should know before you buy...

I wish I had known these two things prior to investing in this series. 1) the narrator, especially in the first book, speaks really slowly. I listened to the whole thing on 1.25 to 1.50 speed which, while annoying, was less annoying than listening at normal speed. Take a careful listen to sample first. Narrator did have good emotion and distinct characters. 2) the over-arching story doesn't come anywhere near getting resolved.

Holy Hot Bikers

What a great surprise. I purchased this book based on reviews and was not disappointed. It is the first biker book that I have tried and will definitely continue with this kind of book. Horse is an alpha male that has a sensitive side. There is great chemistry between Marie and Horse. I loved the fact that there is no billionaire in sight yet Horse is still powerful. My only critic would be the gangs names. They explained the meaning behind them but I swear you would never believe that some biker would go by the name Horse or Picnic. I think this book has a really interesting concept of how a biker gang would operate. Sometimes I felt like it was a bit demeaning for some of the females but the author really helps you buy in because Marie is struggling with all the thoughts that are running through your own head. I say this is totally worth the credit. I think the narration was really well done. Stella Bloom was able to distinguish her male voices and female voices. Cannot wait to see if there are more books to come.

Kept me in until the end.

This one is a step below Undeniable. It's good but not as raw. I was suprised by the narrator she did a good job whith both the male and female voices. I'm looking for more Ellora's Cave stamped on the cover.

Kirby is NOT Bennet Ryan

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

This book was good but the biggest problem for me is that Kirby Heybourne is NOT Bennet Ryan, he's Nick from Gone Girl. He is actually, perfectly Nick from Gone Girl. Not a deep enough voice or sexy enough cadence for BR.

Loving this *HOT* series

Despite the title (I hate it) and length of this book (way too short) this was another amazing and super HOT listen by Christina Lauren. Wow! These ladies know how to write a sexy series!

This book picks up where Beautiful Bastard ended and before we get to Beautiful Stranger. If you were curious to see what happened to Bennett and Chloe between books then this is a must get for you.

Almost every scene in this book is dripping with heat and intensity. There is plenty of hot sex but this book had more romance than the others.

I'm just sorry it ended so quickly.

Ehhhh.

I really enjoyed the previous book in this series, Beautiful Bastard. It ranks as one of my favorites. It was not only significantly better than any of the other books littering up this genre in recent history, I think it holds its own compared to more mainstream fiction. The narrator really enhanced the book.

This sequel was just OK. It did not include the tension and the energy the first book included. What made Bastard so compelling was the friction between the two main characters. The author found exactly the right chemical reaction between the two. It might be unrealistic to expect that reaction to survive once they were a committed couple. But I sure missed it when I read this book. It wasn't a bad book, but it didn't explode like the first one did and it wasn't nearly as funny. Grace Grant did a good job, but adding the male narrator added nothing to the experience.

I so wish this book was longer but - it was amazing and oh so yummy hot. Christina Lauren has charmed me once again with this sexy read. It was over way to quick but hay, lets hope she is writing at triple speed for more of the same. The story was delivered perfectly by Grace Grant , and Kirby Heybourne, the story really suited the double narration. Another 5 star yummy listen. :)

Good ending for Bennett/Chloe

Kirby Heybourne can actually read French quiet well. He sounds sexy.

Dominique, Max's house keeper. She got Bennett tipsy and sent him in town to get some loving someone else b/c he was moping around while waiting for Chloe to get to France.

This is a good ending for Bennett and Chloe. I love that this book is written through both Bennett and Chloe point of views. The sex scenes were hot and steamy.

Creative! Creative! Creative!

I listened to "Beautiful Bastard" and enjoyed it immensely, so when "Beautiful Stranger" was released I downloaded immediately.

This novel was better...flat out better. Why, you ask...because the intimate encounters in this novel are not only steamy and delicious but OH SO CREATIVE! I don't mean to spoil the book for anyone so I cannot go into detail, but trust me when I say that scenes from this novel will get your wheels turning on how to spice up your own love life! I've literally never listened/read a novel that gave me sex like this and Bravo for that!

On a second note, I also believe this story was much more well thought out and planned then its predecessor and that is such a good thing to see, don't ya think? In "Beautiful Bastard" you are left to believe that these characters already really know one another, for the most part due to their work situation, but in "Beautiful Stranger" you really get to watch it all unfold before you and that is half of the fun!

And lastly, Cole's narration in his very realistic and very sexy british accent brings this audio to meet the highest of your expectations. He makes me want to check for other books narrated by him and just listen for the sake of listening despite its content!

As I finish up this review all it makes me want to do is start "Beautiful Stranger" from the beginning and experience it all over again...now that really says something.

Delicious!!

I enjoyed Beautiful Bastard but definitely liked Beautiful Stranger more. Two strangers with a strong attraction. One playboy the other just had her heart broken. Sarah was hesitant to get into another relationship so she decides she only wants to have fun. This book had more of a plot than the first book. There was more character development and an interesting story. Max was living every mans dream but he realizes its not enough. He wants the girl. Overall, this book was delicious and I will continue with this author.

Sigh..........

I think this was as good if not better than the first. Max is adorable. I guess Sarah can have him but she better apprecitate him! And his accent-Yumm. Both narrators did a great job with Max and Jonathan R.

Not quite as good as the first one...

This is a fluffy easy listen. It's ok but not a book I would listen to again. The first one was much better. I guess my issue is that the storyline is too fantastic. Katie is a Paris Hilton type character. She's a spoiled rich party girl who happens to get a baby in her doorstep (yeah right). The baby came with adoption papers and everything! The story of who the parents are, how the baby ended up with Katie and how she wants to quit party and socializing just to take care of the baby is unrealistic. The romance also didn't quite do it for me. This book is good if you get it on a good sale and want an easy listen while on vacation.

Delightful

Catherine Bybee's "Not Quite Mine" is a delightful listen, as narrated by Amy McFadden. This is book two in the "Not Quite" Series, and another hit to add to her list, as she continues with the familiar characters of book one, developing more deeply into the lives of Katelyn, Jack's sister and his best friend, Dean.

Definitely credit worthy! Enjoy!

Great read and getting-better listen..

So, thanks to Hurricane Irma Ive been without TV and Internet for 4 days. It was truly horrific AND Im happy to say Irma turned and we werent hit that badly but prayers to those who were hit. That being said, I did finish Not Quite Mine, read another book and started another.

Lets get down to this one, which I read in 2013. I love second chance romances and Im happy to say I dont give a darn if its believable or not. Believability IS NOT why I read romance! If I wanted believability Id read fiction. I want the STORY: how they met, how long were they together, why did they break up and how long were they apart.

Dean and Katelyns story was fascinating and mysterious for a while, as they tried to figure out who left the baby on Katies doorstep, and why? And it was funny how she and Monica tried so hard not to let anyone find out about Savannah until Katies PI found out the truth of the whole thing. Who cares if what Katie and Monica did was legal or not? This is a book, not todays front page news. It was a really great story and I enjoyed as much as I did Not Quite Dating, for the second time. Since I read the first two books in the Not Quite series I might as well read them ALL again.

There was explicit sex in this book and the F-bomb was released 9 times.

Um... well... that was... hmmm...

I like a few of Kinsella's books tho I had to stop when her shopaholic had a baby because they jsut started getting bad. There's only so idiotic a person can be. I was wrong.

Imagine a world filled with idiots. Idiots so incompetent that they can't manage to put the hot dog in the muffin (or whatever the heck they were saying around the kid). Main Guy is having an early midlife crisis and wants to run away and get married with the chick he banged all summer holiday in Greece. They meet 15 years later and do just that. Main Girl is smart and so is he so you'd think they could have a coherent thought between them. No.

Main Girl just went through a whole breakup and feels old (33) so she jumps at the chance to finally get married despite the guy mentioning things from that hot sexy summer that she doesn't remember. Foreshadowing anyone? Main Girl's sister is also smart but manages to keep them from doing it no matter how lame her attempts are and how idiotic she is. Main Guy's lawyer is his closest best friend even though they don't really like each other - he also tries to stop the wedding but bungles it as well.

Main Girl's recently dumped EX is Mr. Clueless, who has dated her for 3 years, loves her, and can't figure out why she would think he was going to propose and doesn't really know if he wants to.

Really, the most interesting person in the whole story is the kid who is a pathological liar. Seriously. How hard is it to go to another hotel and get it on. Don't waste your credit, you'll just yell at your player and roll your eyes so much you get a headache.

Other reviewers criticize the foul language, but it isn't the use of profanity that is itself a problem: it is the characterization of Fliss, Richard and Ben. These are characters so negative and mean that the swearing just punctuates how foul and unlikeable they are. Not a problem in some books perhaps, but here these ugly personalities cause big problems:

1) Fliss is not only a central character, she is one of two protagonists, yet she is completely unsympathetic. This not only alienates the audience, it is agitating. She is really a self-centered, bitter woman. Hard to buy she loves her sister.

It wasn't really the same story

I have to admit I was soooo excited for this book to come out...and yet so dreading reading this book! I wanted to hear Travis's side of things, but didn't want to ruin my impression of book one!

Happy to say a good medium was found and the book was kind of like a behind the scenes version of book 1, very cool! Hope other authors take a look at this, I would love to have some of my past favorites written from the other main characters perspective!

Simple AMAZING! Better than Book 1!

OMGOOODNESS! How do you write the exact same story... better than the first from another POV...!!! This is really hard to do and McGuire nailed it...

I was so nervous about this book b/c I didn't want my original impression of Travis Maddox to change, not one bit... WOW... This book is like.... it is like....

Ok...first... I was scared some scenes from BD would be redone from Travis POV, which I felt were already done from his POV in BD... but you know what... McGuire apparently felt that way too, because not one of those scenes where redone...

Second... I was so wanting to hear the other side of the virgin/smex/leaving scene... When Travis smashed up everything in BD... OMG! SO much better now that I have see it from Travis POV... WOW... WOW.., I loved the silent rage... it was like Travis was raging on the outside... going all crazy, smashin up the house... but inside... he is complete numb, silent... dead... quite... just broken...! OMG! Who writes like that...? McGuire I will read anything you write!

Third... Beautiful Disaster (BD) is how the outside world sees Travis Maddox...very tough, brutally honest and a "Maddog" right... But this book... is like the inner turmoil of that very ruff shell... but deep down...Travis is soooo very innocent... OMG! WOW WOW... and how he loves Abby! His Pigeon...

And the epilogue! WHAT! YESSSSS! I always wondered what Travis and Pigeon life would be like after college... Soooo cool!!!

*Extra*: Remember in BD when America said Travis and Shep talk... Well boy do they... all thier conversations are exposed~!!! LOVED IT!!!

Travis Maddox 2.0!

Although Beautiful Disaster wasnt my favorite book I did like Travis so I gave this one a shot. I absolutely loved this story from his POV. Although the plot is a bit repetitive, it felt more like a behind the scenes look into Travis and Abbys story. It gave me a better appreciation for the first book. (Perhaps Travis's side of the story should have been told first?)

I enjoyed the narration, story and overall feel of this book so much more than Beautiful Disaster. Im glad I gave this one a try. And the epilogue was amazing!

Great Feel Good Book - Fresh Plot

I like the fresh plot. Though the romance formula is in tact, Bybee offers and interesting plot in this second of a series. Also, she does a good job laying the groundwork for follow-ons. This novel is self contained, as was Book 1. This series creates a universe and a set of woman within the universe. After listening to two, it is clear where she is going but I think the plot lines will have enough variety to keep one interested.

As a critique I would liked to have amped up the conflict. I also would have liked to see a little more depth from Eliza -- all in all, a nice listen. Pull up a chair near the fire, surf the web on you iPad and listen away. Eby does a good job narrating. I give it a thumbs up.

Loved this entire series!

Loved this series! Have listened to the series quicker than I have any other series! I've had fun imagining and immersing myself into the stories!

Very Entertaining Story and Characters

Married by Monday: Weekday Brides, Book 2 is a very entertaining romance with enjoyable characters, most of whom we met in Book 1. My only disappointment is that audible does not have book 3 in their store.

Book 1 and 2 are the only Catherine Bybee books that I have ever had the pleasure of listening. Her characters are endearing, and the story is lighthearted, while also engaging. If you are in the mood for a fun read, this novel will provide.

Definitely credit worthy!

Pun intended! Read the story and my head line will give you a chubkle. Another great story that continues the storyline of book 1. Keep them coming Catherine!
