Publisher's Summary:
I always wanted a nice, normal boyfriend. The kind you could bring home to your parents. Instead, I fell for Austin Wright.
We tried this once and failed. Hard.
I swore the bad-boy Wright who set my body on fire would never get a second chance, because our love is heroin-laced-gasoline-addicting and destined to go up in flames.
Members Reviews:
I absolutely love the Wright Family!!
Oh my word!!!
I swear this Wright Family is my undoing.
Austin Wright is cocky, self-centered, and sexy as sin. But he lives behind the numbness of what the bottle can provide.
He's been drinking for years to hide his demons but when one woman makes him feel again, he's finally hit a crossroads.
Julia is fierce, independent and not going to stand for anyone less. She pushes Austin and doesn't except anything less than she deserves.
I loved the hot and cold between the two. When they were hot, they were blazing!
But with the good came the bad and there was plenty of bad between the two.
This was one of my favorites in the series so far.
Narrator Alexander Cendese had the perfect voice for Austin.
I absolutely love this narrator.
I read several reviews about his voice for the female points of view but seriously he's a MAN trying to do a woman's voice. I don't expect him to sound like a woman!! Either way, I absolutely LOVE him and the way he tells a story!!!
The female narrator, Lucy Rivers is also one of my favorites. She has a beautiful voice and held down Julia's part!
Great Story, Amazing Characters, and Highly Enjoyed!!!!!
Almost Couldnt Listen.
I truly love KA Lindes stories and Im in love with all the Wright brothers so Austins story was not any different in that regard.
The female narrator was fine but the male narrator speaking the fe,ale parts was just horrible.
He used a high pitched, squeaky, old lady type voice and I found it distracted me for quite a few chapters. I stopped listening to it for a few weeks because I just couldnt get into the story because of that voice he used when speaking the female POV.
It was the same when he used all 3 female parts, he spoke Julias, Emerys and Heidis voices the same way, so when all 3 were in a scene it drove me to stop the book several times to stop my ears from bleeding!
I guess you get the picture.
Loved the story (well most of it) and disliked the male narrator speaking the female POVs.
Awful
The narration made this so difficult to finish. It was so bad I wanted to stab my ears! Story was just OK. I'm so glad it's over.
Narration ruined the book
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Narrators were not appropriate choices for this type of book. Made it hard to want to continue even though I had listened to the first two in the series. Im leary of buying the 4th.
How could the performance have been better?
Different narrators.
Couldn't get past the narration
The male narrator has no idea how to do female voices. Every female sounded the same, and like Elmer Fudd. HORRIBLE!
