Moose not Squirrel
Okay. Iâll be honest. I bought this because the thought of a moose shifter just made me LMAO. A lot. And I think itâs hard to write about a moose shifter without having tongue firmly in cheek, and thatâs pretty much how Langlais approaches it.
There are elements which bring it into the dark side, namely, the heroineâs mother and various wolf elements. There are some surprising plot turns (one I totally wasnât expecting, and that threw me for a loop; I thought I had them all down!).
The only eh note for me is, seriously, does sexual attraction have to be the mainstay? Even for a comedy? Arenât there things they can talk about before hitting the sheets? Does the girl always have to be overwhelmed by the guy?
But itâs fun, and the twists and turns keep the pages moving along, and hey, MOOSE! (But no squirrel *sad face*)

I love Eve's books. Whether it's purple aliens or a moose with a big rack, she always adds just the bit of humor that makes a book special. All the Howls books so far have been short reads and this one is no exception. However, the H/h are well defined and likable. Shifter style, Bryce and Melanie knew right away that they were mates, but what fun would it be if getting to the HEA and Melanie's surprise was smooth sailing? I wasn't crazy about the "villian", but I didn't hate him. His fiancee, Chanice and Melanie's mother, them I did dislike. I hope you give this book a try, I really loved it and I think you will, too. Humor and Romance in one
Now, Iâm a big fan of Eve Langlais so when I found this books, I couldnât resist and I was definitely pleased with my purchase.
Bryce, our billionaire moose, was so in love with himself and his charms that he expected everyone to just love him too. Which resulted in some hilarious interactions with Melanie who was pretty humble, considering her motherâs nastiness. She also had some sass when interacting with Bryce that just made her more believable to me
I liked the two of them together, but Iâve read other books from Eve that rocked better. But donât take my word for it, you should read it and form your own opinion.
The story flows, fun yet compelling
I read this in one sitting, it was so good! I loved the complicated families and the characters that live in these pages. The story reads smoothly and has just enough of a twist to keep your interest running. The family twists were unexpected and the parallels were funky but still kept me reading to get the resolution to all the questions. Melanie and Bryce had a cute build up, they both deserve happiness.
