10 STARS!!!! I LOVED THE AUDIOBOOK!!! EXCELLENT WRITING BY AUTHOR MASON SABRE AND INCREDIBLE NARRATION!!!!
The Audiobook, The Rise of the Phoenix was my introduction into the Society Series by Author Mason Sabre. I have read other books by Mason Sabre, just not this series. I loved the Audiobook version of this story and hope MORE books in this Series will be available on Audio in the near future. The Narrator has an English Accent and a way of making you feel the pain of the Main Character, a young English Boy. the pain of being cast away by his family and living all alone in a new world he doesn't quite understand in his new body of an Animal. The pain, sadness, loneliness, the unknown in him now and not wanted by family or society. The Narrator had me practically in tears feeling everything the young boy was experiencing, a reality of Excellent writing and Wonderful Audiobook.. Another Fabulous Mason Sabre Short..
A heartbreaking introduction to a series
This was a heartbreaking introduction to The Society series. We're introduced to a young boy who is suddenly thrust into a world of being "Other", after growing up Human. He blames himself for the death of his mother, and even worse, his father blames him too, so he suddenly finds himself alone, trying to make it in a world where Humans hate Others.
I just wanted to wrap my arms around this boy, give him a big hug and tell him it would all be ok. Mason Sabre has an amazing writing style, he really draws you into the story and makes it all feel so real!!
Heart wrenching
The author sends us on an emotional rollercoaster ride as a thirteen year old boy is beaten and disowned by his father after being blamed for his mother's death.
We are held accountable for the choices we make in life, even if it's a childish curiosity.
Mason Sabre writes a beautiful heart wrenching story with such intricate details that you feel the pain that Phoenix endures. Abuse. Bullying. Violence.
I would strongly recommend this book. Can't wait for next installment!
Emotional Roller Coaster of a Read
I really enjoyed this book it was an emotional roller coaster ride from start to finish and it was beautifully written. It's the first book by this author I have read and I didn't know what to expect but I'm glad I took the time to download and read this one. I read it in one sitting and I thought it was a thoughtful, insightful story.
More than your typical paranormal story!
Where to begin...this was such a gut wrenching story! WOW!! My emotions were all over the place.
