A runaway heiress learning to trust life, and love.

A mother and daughter, separated for years, searching for a way to face the future together.

New York Times best-selling author Luanne Rice tells a powerful story of love, family, and friendship through the lives of two women who reunite at a place where dreams beginand where they may be fulfilled at last.

Years ago, Lyra Davis left behind a world of wealth and privilege and the people she loved most in the world, unable to reconcile the expectations of her celebrated family with the longings of her own wild heart. Now she lives quietly among a community of expatriates on the isle of Capri, slowly, carefully learning to live fully for the first time, flourishing in the friendship of a singular man who recognizes in her a kindred spirit.

Granddaughter of the reigning doyenne of Newport, Rhode Island, wise beyond her 16 years, Pell Davis is poised to take her place at the pinnacle of society. Yet she and her young sister still long for the mother who ran away from them when they were children so that they could be raised by the father they adored. Pell knows that Lyra felt she loved them best by leaving. But with her father now dead and her sister veering dangerously into fantasy, she will travel across an ocean to find the mother she remembers and the deeper truths they all need so desperately.

Lyrical, unforgettable, Luanne Rice's new novel unfolds against a background of timeless beauty, as an unlikely love affair reshapes the meaning of devotion and three generations of women resist the pull of memory and tradition to find a new way forward.

Instead of celebrating their life there, Gwyn and Thomas are toasting their divorce.

The weekend also marks the first time that their son, Nate, brings his fiancée, Maggie, home to Montauk. But Maggie finds herself wondering if it will be the last, because she discovers a secret Nate has kept for years.

A multigenerational novel about love, family, and what it means to build a life with someone, The Divorce Party brings us two immensely appealing women: Gwyn, at the end of her marriage, and her future daughter-in-law, Maggie, at the beginning. Though they make very different choices, both women ultimately discover how to create the lives that they most want to lead.

Publisher's Summary:

Fast-paced, insightful, poignant, and often hilarious, Donna McNeely's Stuck in the Box captures the insanity, the characters, and the superficiality that permeate every local TV news station in America. This heroine tells the truth about local TV news, in a way that only a true insider can.

Critic Reviews:

"A fun, poignant, and terribly true romp through the world of local TV news. The names were changed, but trust me. These are the characters who deliver your local news!" (Walt Buteau, WPRI-TV, Providence)

"The perfect insider's take on local TV news. Stuck in the Box humorously captures the adrenaline that makes working in local news so addictive and so exhausting. So realistic it gave me news-mares!" (Angie Austin, KWGN-TV, Denver)

"The most realistic behind-the-scenes look at local news I've ever read...and wickedly funny as told through Donna McNeely's charming prose and rapier wit. A 'must-read' for anyone who's ever worked in local TV news, and a 'should-read' for anyone who's ever watched it!" (Cameron Kent, WXII-TV, Winston-Salem)
