Publisher's Summary:
Detective Paige Whiskey comes from a long line of witches. They may not all be the most powerful, but they are outspoken and supportive of their community. She alone has no gifts. She can't summon fire, can't read minds. She knows the arcane. She's studied it. That, along with her connection to the Whiskey Witches, lands her some pretty strange cases.
Like the sacrificial murders of St. Francisville, Louisiana. There's a killer on the loose, choosing people in a vain attempt to raise a demon. Once she gets there, she realizes the murders were nothing more than an elaborate invitation, tempting her into the claws of the killer.
She does have a gift, a very powerful and terrifying one.
The killer is after her.

A very interesting take on magic and possession. For our Detective I would say her magic is strong and she has a right to be truly pissed that her family tried to bind her. Her mother is a real piece of work as well.
Seems that Dexx and Alma are going to play a big part in Episode 2, and I can understand why the Chief is leaving this to our intrepid Detective. She may be one of the Whiskey witches, but she isn't trusted to know her own power....even after having been emphatic to the nth degree on the matter. How will Balanore fit into this? Does he remain an ally?
She is on the right trail with her suspensions of Mike Jones and the witch Malika. Will she be able to catch them before they catch her. I'm looking forward to the next episode to learn more.
Whiskey Witches
I'm not sure how to rate this book. I wanted to like it & some part of me must have liked it or I wouldn't have finished it. There were too many variables, too many characters & too much disjointed action to follow it easily. Not sure if I will continue the series or not.
Lots of potential, needs a little work.
Lots of potential, but really needs an editor. It was confusing from time to time, trying to keep track of who was doing or saying what.
Loving the plot and all the details of the history and the "broken" family. Not sure how some of her powers work together, though.
Fantastic Start to the Series!
I'm so excited for the rest in the series. Whiskey Witches is brilliantly written.
The story jumps right into action and doesn't let go. Paige doesn't think she has a gift but she soon learns that she does and it can be very harmful.
Excellent read and highly recommend
Interesting Start to a New Series
It's not often that I read a book and I spend the entire time wondering what it is about it that's keeping me reading. Usually I know right away if I'm enjoying a book or if I'm just not. In fact, the only other time I remember having this feeling is with the first Snookie Snackcake book. I was left with such mixed feelings that I never went back to the series. This one could be similar for me. As I was reading it, I kept thinking that I really liked the premise. In fact, I was enjoying the book. Then, something would come up and I'd have to walk away for a bit, but then the story would call me back and before I knew it, I'd finished off this first segment! So, at the end of the day, I really did find it to be an enjoyable read and if you enjoy paranormal fiction then this could be an excellent series for you.
