I have trouble understanding parts of the bible, like the Old Testament.  The teachings of Jesus are pretty simple to understand. Why can’t all the Bible be written like that?  Are the parts of the bible other than what Jesus taught all that important?

I want to start reading the bible but I’m not sure where to start.  Is there a good order to read the books of the bible?  What is a good way to read the bible?

How do you understand the meaning of the difficult passages of the Bible?  What tools do you use to arrive at the right meaning?

The first followers of Jesus didn’t call themselves Christians. Christian was actually an insult they later adopted for themselves. They called themselves Disciples of Jesus. Join us as we find out what that really means, so we can answer that question, “Am I a Christian?”

Questions:

James says that a person is justified by works and not faith alone. But Paul says that a person is justified by faith alone. How can you reconcile these two statements?

If God loves everyone, why would he send anyone to hell? Why does he let people suffer?

People talk a lot about God, but what god are they really talking about? During this message we find out some of the defining characteristics of the Christian God, so we can decide if we are following Him or a totally different god.

The most important question we can ask ourselves is, “Am I a Christian?” Many people claim to be Christians, but when you dig deeper, it becomes clear that many people who believe they are Christians don’t actually know what a Christian really is. This is a huge problem, because a person’s eternity depends on the answer to that question. Questions:

I’d like to be somebody on the move for God. But between work and kids, I am always busy and often exhausted. Seems I’m always on the move but not for God. How do I change this?

Dave mentioned people who started serving in major ways at age 30 because they were experienced enough to handle it. Is this why Jesus waited until he was 30 before going public?

How do I know if God is really leading me to do something new?

I have been married to an alcoholic for many years. I’ve tried everything i can think of to help him change. Our finances are ruined and kids want nothing to do with him. How can I be a better influence on him so maybe he’ll change?

I have been “nice” my whole life. You said people like me need to find the courage to bring up things that will make people mad. How do you find courage?

If you are a nonbeliever where do you go until judgement day? Is Judgement day one time for everyone at the same time or does each person have their own judgement day at different times when they die?

Can you ask for salvation on judgement day? Is there a second chance to believe after you die?
