Scott and Casey recap their trip to Nepal!
Acute Mountain Sickness
Scott and Casey chatted with Lindsey Falkenburg the writer behind the blog Tandem Trekking that she runs with her husband, the photographer, Kyle. The pair have thru hiked the Appalachian Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail, recently bought an ambulance, and are about to go on their first canyoneering trip. Lindsey is self proclaimed planning ninja (well I made that title up but it fits) who is using her skills to mentor future thru hikers. Be sure to check out tandemtrekking.com for all kinds of awesome resources like packing lists, the application for Lindsey’s pilot program “The Thruhikers Guide to the Galaxy”, and some serious belly laughs. Lindsey is also on IG @tandemtrekking so hop over there and give her a follow.
Apply for The Thruhikers' Guide to the Galaxy program before Oct. 31st.
The personality assessments we talked about are the Four Tendencies and the Enneagram.
Matt Payne, who taught us how to take breathtaking mountain photos introduced Scott and Casey to Michael Bollino. Michael is a landscape photographer based out of Portland, OR. He got his start in landscape photography documenting his backpacking and climbing adventures with friends while exploring nature. His love for Landscape photography grew from there and took him on awesome trekking adventures to the Tibet, Himalayas, India, and a year-long trip in South America.
Due to his amazing work, Michael was the featured article in Outdoor Photographers' annual landscape special publication.
In this episode we discuss with Michael:
· His Follow the Light methodology for photography and life!
· His trekking and photo adventures in Nepal
· How his first trip to Nepal positively impacted his life

Rowan uses his background as a personal trainer along principles of Sports Science and Strength and Conditioning to help amateur trekkers prepare for their adventures. During the episode we talked about the biggest mistakes people make when preparing for a trek, his podcast “The Training For Trekking” podcast, and the homework he gave us to prepare for Everest Base Camp.
Check out Rowan's 'Hikers Knee Prevention Guide', a free downloadable PDF which runs through his system to prevent knee pain while hiking (which sooo many people get!) plus it includes a free 12-week training program to help.
