    My grandchildren love this book!
The Rowdy book has been a hit with all of my grandkids. Last summer, my grandson (who was just over 1 1/2 yrs at the time)was visiting and I was reading him this book. The pictures are so vivid and he kept wanting to scoop up the balloon on the first couple of pages and hold it. He was back at my house nearly 5 months later and we were in that same room. Suddenly, he looked around and asked for a balloon. When I told him that I didn't have a balloon, he looked around at the couch and pointed to exactly where the book had been laying and asked, "Read book?" Amazing! So I went and found the Rowdy book and read it to him.
Another grandson, who is 3 1/2, actually loves the story more than the balloon. :) We read it every time we're at the cabin together and we talk about how everyone has things about them that are special.
Excited to see this new adventure
Since I will not see my great nieces and nephews at Christmas I gave them their new Rowdy book at Thanksgiving. As an aunt I like to give books. The sheer excitment on their faces when they saw it was a new Rowdy book made me know I had made the right choice. They all wanted to sit right down on read it. And hey Rowdy does a great job of teaching 4 & 5 year olds about being content with what they have. Thank you Ms. Braymer!!!
    Grandkids loved it!
I bought this book for my grandkids and they loved the stories and pictures. And it has such a good message to it - teaches values and self-esteem. Highly recommend!

    Members Reviews:
    Well written
It is very well written. Cancer is hard for an adult to understand and even harder for our children. God bless the author.
Great book in helping children understand cancer.
Good book for helping children understand Cancer. Helped my daughter with the transition of her grandmother loosing her hair during chemo.
A Stunning Resource for Children in Contact with Cancer
"Cancer Starts with C" is a beautiful book in every sense. It is written for the younger child, although I admit I enjoyed it myself!
The beautiful illustrations turn what could be a scary story into bedtime reading. It is a book that every child will love. Author Leticia Croft-Holguin received her diagnosis of aggressive cancer in her ninth month of pregnancy. She wrote this book to give parents a much-needed tool to articulate and explain the unsettling concept of cancer to their children. This book will help to prepare kids for some of the anticipated changes they can expect to see in their mommy or daddy, as well as open the door to meaningful communication between family members.
An unexpected bonus to this book is it comes with a code for an audiobook download. This is not yet available, but it is in the process, so I will be back to download that in a few weeks' time.
Well done, Leticia, for seeing the need for such an invaluable resource. I comment you, and I intend to pass this book on to parents doing battle with cancer, who have young children.
    Cancer Starts With C
This is a wonderful book to help explain cancer to children for anyone facing the diagnosis of cancer. It walks a child through the diagnosis of cancer and the treatment options available. I liked how the author uses a knight to describe Chemotherapy and fairy dust to describe radiation, which should make these treatment options less scary for children. It's a valuable tool for families, doctors, nurses, and treatment centers that deal with cancer.
    Author Patricia Leath
    Cancers Starts with C
Great Book Really Explains Cancer to Children:
I really enjoyed reading this book. It clearly explains Cancer to young children in a friendly non-frightening manner. The illustrations are interesting and visually appealing to children. The author's personal cancer story is very compelling. I would definitely recommend this book.
