Delightful Icelandic picture book
Freddie, an Icelandic boy, goes fishing in the cove with his Grandfather.
Such a delight to read this book! The illustrations are beautiful and add a lot of visual detail to the story: 5 stars. The storyline is simple and cozy, and reveals a close relationship between a Grandpa and his grandson: 5 stars. I also enjoyed the Icelandic cultural elements: using whale bones to slide the boat into the water and having a pet fox. I highly recommend this book!
Enjoyable read
I've re-read it to my son for bedtime quite a few times when we don't have books handy. It's a cute read.
Absolutely brilliant
Exciting story, filled with adventures. The pictures improve childrens imagination and the story gets its own live. We read it over and overa again.
Beautiful and entertaining children's book
My 3 year old son loves this book and immerses himself in the story. The story is also very educational and my son has gained in vocabulary. It is about real Icelandic life decorated with sea monster adventure which can be very exciting for the younger generation. The pictures in the book are very beautiful and you can read the story with your own words and improvise based on the pictures, especially for those younger ones.
Overall a beautiful and entertaining story. I recommend this book and we are looking forward to the next Freddie and Foxy adventure.
