    Publisher's Summary:
Thirty-one days of fun, satire, and deeper meaning of the godly beard!
Is there a connection between hairiness and holiness? Some would say a hearty yes! In fact the world is in the middle of a beard mania. Events like Movember and Decembeard are becoming global movements, and manly sites are appearing all over the Internet. Is this just another fad? And what does it say that so many of the most famous Christian communicators have or did have beards?
Throughout history, Christian men have gloried in male pattern magnificence. Saint Benedict of Nursia wore a superb double forker. The benevolently bushed Euthymius wouldn't allow clean-shaven monks to enter his Judean Desert monastery. St. Francis of Assisi had a beard, and now there's a Pope named after him. He's clean-shaven, but we're praying for him.
Of all the great Christian men who wore beards, none stands so highly as the headless martyr Sir Thomas More. On the day of his beheading, the tufted knight supposedly positioned his beard away from his soon-to-be-severed neck, saying, "My beard has not been guilty of treason, and it would be an injustice to punish it."
But of course, Bearded Gospel Men is about far more than beards - it's about manliness and godliness. Through this 31-day devotional, men are inspired to rise to a higher calling. The humor and facial hair is the perfect means to have a broader conversation about living a faithful life.
So, let's study some of these famous Bearded Gospel Men!

    Fabulous listen!
To beard or not to beard?
To beard or not to beard. If that is the question, the answer in this book is definitively "beard". Bearded Gospel Ment is a great listen, filled with inspiring stories and thought provoking questions to challenge the bearded and unbearded alike to live lives of purpose and passion. I highly recommend it, as does my scruffy face warmer.

A Transformative Relational Discipleship that Results in Chrislikeness
A Transformative Discipleship that Results in Christlikeness
Robert Stone presents a blue print for entering into and experiencing intimacy with God at new levels. In his book âThe Altar of His Presence â Inspiring Intimate Encounters with the Glory of Godâ Stone assures the reader that âthe altarâed life will alter everything about life.â
Stone challenges the reader to move beyond a rational theology â behavioral theology to a relational experience that will result in Christlikeness. Each of the fast moving chapters is comprised of background information, an application, a reflection, and a response leading to a unique look at the Altarâed life:
I was personally challenged to establish my own âAltar of Promise,â a place, pattern, and purpose, where I could be âAltarâedâ through a deeper, more intimate, relationship with, God, the Father, Jesus, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.â
Robert Stone is an author, minister and speaker. His personal passion is to mentor people to a greater dimension of spiritual growth and fellowship with God.
âThe Altar of His Presence will resonate with readers pursuing a desire to accept Godâs invitation to discover the magnificence of the âPractice of His Presenceâ more fully.â Life Altaring.â Highly Recommended.
A complimentary copy of this book was provided for review purposes. The opinions expressed are my own.
God Is Waiting For You To Come
The Altar of His Presence reminded me of what God said to Moses: (Exodus 33:14) And He said, âMy Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.â
These are two incredible statements: My presence will go with you. I will give you rest. It is important for us to (choose) to enter the (presence) of God. However, it is also important to understand that when we leave His presence, His presence goes with us! When youâve been in His presence, people will recognize it. When Mary broke the alabaster box over Jesus' feet, the expensive perfume probably stayed with her. The fragrance probably penetrated her skin, her hands, her hair so that wherever she went people could smell the sweet fragrance of being around the presence of Jesus! The Altar of His Presence gives you a scriptural road map to maintain a life of worship, a life filled with the aroma, the fragrance, of being in His presence. God said to Moses, "My presence will go with you." The choice is yours. As you meditate and apply the revelation available in this powerful book you will be equipped to walk in the sweet aroma which belongs to you in Jesus Christ.

    Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Christianity
    Publisher's Summary:
Nationally syndicated radio host and columnist Michael L. Brown provides a handbook for a biblically based moral and cultural renaissance, revealing that the key to recapturing America's greatness consists in returning to our spiritual and moral roots.
America is at a tipping point, and never has this been more apparent than right now. We are in danger of losing our spiritual and moral heritage, making many believe that we have fallen beyond the point of recovery. This book is here to say that yes, we have fallen. In fact fallen much further than we realize, but our country's best days are ahead - with the help of a radical, moral, and cultural revolution, beginning with the church. This book is a manual for the revolution.
On all fronts Americans are talking about the need for revolution, arguing from the left and the right that "the status quo must go!" This book comes at just the right time, as people are wondering what in the world has happened to our country - from homes to college campuses, from the inner cities to the White House, from our national debt to the material found on our computers and TV screens. In clear, compelling prose, Brown covers topics ranging from the sexualization of pop culture to the dumbing down of our schools, to the undermining of family structures, and to a pervasive culture of entitlement while pointing consistently to the Bible's solution to these issues. A radical call for reformation written with sobriety and hope, Saving a Sick America provides the inspiration and guidance necessary for a moral and cultural revolution.

    Excellent assessment of our Culture
Brown does a remarkable job evaluating the many different moral failings of our society, while providing practical advise on how to combat each. Well done.

    Great and timely prophetic book!
Insightful, timely book offering hope and direction for a moral and cultural revolution! I highly recommend it for every believer wanton to see America healed and restored to be a nation filled with the light and glory of God.
Answer: The church being more Christian
Story was good, narrator was good. I was hoping the book was more holistic in nature with a more profound, multi-layered and methodical approach to solving the problems America faces. I've been studying this challenge for some time and think maybe I need to be the one to create this through my ministry because I haven't found it yet! This book covers the broader picture and focuses on what Christians can do individually to improve our Christian character. It is about how the American church can become more authentic in its Christian witness to the rest of the nation.
    You must get this book!
This book is absolutely amazing. I finished it in less than 3 days and loved every single chapter. I am rushing out to the bookstore now to buy my paper copy. I'm then going to re-read it, underlining, and quoting extensively from it. I can't wait to add it to my bookshelf!

  • Proof of God Audiobook by Ptolemy Tompkins, Bernard Haisch

    Title: Proof of God
Subtitle: The Shocking True Answer to the World's Most Important Question

    Narrator: Kirby Heyborne
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 5 hrs and 51 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 09-26-17
    Publisher: Simon & Schuster Audio
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 4 votes
    Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Christianity
    Publisher's Summary:
Ptolemy Tompkins, collaborator on the New York Times best-selling Proof of Heaven and Proof of Angels, has teamed up with renowned astrophysicist Bernard Haisch to prove God's existence and show that his work is evident in the world around us.
Is there a God? If so, does God care about us? Or is human life a mere accident of physics?
For centuries these fundamental questions have been integral to every culture and religion the world has known - and have not been answered, save by faith. When it comes to finding answers about how the universe came into existence, "God" is simply another theory. A theory that, many say, is no longer needed.
In Proof of God, writer Ptolemy Tompkins (Publishers Weekly calls his writing "inspired") has joined forces with internationally acclaimed astrophysicist Bernard Haisch to demonstrate that not only is God real but that it is science itself that proves it. Structured in seven compelling chapters examining core features of our universe (gravity, mass, energy), Proof of God blows up the misconceptions put forth by recent "anti-religion" best sellers. Written in simple, easy to understand language, it shows believers that, far from being an enemy of their faith, science is, if anything, its greatest justification. Above all, it is a deeply personal narrative about a scientist's journey to understanding how God's fingerprints are all over our universe.
In Proof of God, a committed seeker and a spiritual scientist come together to present a view of creation that makes it not only possible but essential to accept both science and God as true.
    Members Reviews:
    Cleverly written
The book has a Socratic style in which the writer delivers his message by describing the process of writing the book. Both entertaining and informative.
Good but not as good as the God Theory
I knew that this book would be derivative but missed one key point. I really liked Bernard's explanation of why we exist. White on white so God can experience himself through a free will being.
