Retirement is not a time give away your power, or to give up on your passions, far from it, it can be a time to renew old enthusiasms and discover new and rewarding directions to take.
For all of us there are certain transition points in life when so much changes that it can be really helpful to take a step back and reassess the direction we are going in. Retirement is one of those transition times. Its both a time of closure and of new openings. A time for grieving over the loss of old routines whilst at the same time looking forward to revisiting old passions and discover new ones.
In this two track introduction to retirement coaching Anne Marshall skillfully guides you through five well recognized phases of retirement, helping you to appreciate the unique challenges and opportunities of each phase so that you can negotiate your own journey of transition with skill and ease.
Anne Marshall is author of The Health Factor and offers retirement coaching as part of her Health and Wellness Coaching programme.
Members Reviews:
Irritating even though valid information
What would have made Retirement Coaching better?
I found the narrator way too new age sounding and way too touchy feely for me. Even when I found the information interesting it just sounded like someone reading a storybook time at the library feeling from the presenter. For me the material would be more compelling in a more business like tone. But that might be a gender based bias on my part.
Has Retirement Coaching turned you off from other books in this genre?
No
Would you be willing to try another one of Anne Marshalls performances?
I doubt it
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Annoyance to her style of presentation. I work in a Human Resources department with lots of facilitators and coaches and this is just too light weight feeling for me.
