Excellent book! Jones writes in a way that's easy to quickly translate to your own situation. I was able to take his concepts of growing, cultivating, pruning and harvesting and apply them to the new team I lead. I've definitely seen a difference in the results! This was not my first nor last Jones Loflin book! I can't wait to see what he comes out with next!

Lead like a Gardener

I read several books in 2017 and this is one of the best books I read. It is great for business leaders, pastors, and individuals looking to grow in multiple areas. After reading this book, it helped me to lead more like a gardener and help myself/others grow. I highly recommend it.

Refreshing read that is applicable to a variety of team environments!

What a refreshing read! So many leadership books are dry and use banal concepts making the reader plod through to finally reach the end. But not this book!

Using an analogy that we can all relate to, Jones paint's an intelligible gardening picture and applies it to cultivating both a healthy team and a healthy working environment.

Always Growing provides easy-to-grasp ideas and suggestions to help both new AND established leaders improve their team dynamics which, in turn, improves the overall results of the teamâs efforts.

Always Growing shows us how to lead our team in working together toward a higher standard - whether it be our work team, our volunteer team, or even our very own family.

A great book for everyone-- practical tips no matter whether you identify with the title "leader" or not!

Authentic, Energetic, Practical, Relevant

This is a great, concise and powerful book for anyone who needs a "jump start" or is simply looking to invest in themselves! Mack's authenticity and energy jump off the pages as he provides great motivation and challenge for anyone who desires to step up their game, both personally and professionally. I have thoroughly enjoyed every page and have had to "highlight" just about every other statement or quote! Take the time to read it and, more importantly, take the time to put the principles to work in your own life. You won't regret it!

Penetrating & Effective!

The '10 Values of High Impact Leaders' has made a significant 'impact' on my life. The wisdom shared in this thought provoking work on leadership has influenced me to focus more diligently on the character I model at work, at home, in public, and at play. As Mack writes in The Value of Modeling, âSomeone is always watching you.â That statement has changed my thoughts and beliefs to improve my actions and behaviors not only professionally, but also as a Father to 3 amazing children. Mack has reminded me that who we are is more important than what we know and that our character must remain congruent.

So you want to be fearless at growing your company? Great. Here's a book on how to do it. Amanda Setili's broad and deep experience advising top executives on growth and agility forms a strong foundation for this book. The rules outlined (there are seven) are fantastic and intuitive. And, the artful use of examples from companies we all know brings the rules to life in a way that is entertaining and practical. The world is changing, and Fearless Growth provides a few rules for how to stay ahead of the change. Concepts like (Rule 1) embracing uncertainty and (Rule 2) getting in sync with customers sound simple, and Amanda keeps them simple, but allows the book to go into depth in a way that is practical and insightful. Highly recommended.

Solid and Relevant

A very solid, pragmatic guide for addressing the variety of big challenges companies are facing these days. Setili has solid experience (HBS grad and former McKinsey consultant), and runs her own consulting firm that's attracted impressive clients. She draws on those client experiences plus other firms in a variety of industries. Her writing style is clear and blessedly free of jargon. What's not to like? I'm viewing this as a solid reference I'll return to a lot, for insights into the challenges my own clients are struggling with. (Did I just say "solid" again?!). A definite "recommend."

Concise leadership and management advice

This book is filled with concise leadership and management skills. She has great insight in regards to communications skills! Having an interest in body language, I would have loved to learn a bit more. Also the emotional aspect that was addressed is so much a challenging part of the role in leadership. I think her coaching concept is an excellent thing to implement in this setting.

I read the book in one sitting as it was that interesting to me. One thing I liked was the fact that Cara presented the points without a lot of fluff. So many books on leadership traits spend half their time telling you how great they, the author, are and less time talking about the core of the book. As a retired senior Marine NCO, if Caraâs book had been available when I was still active duty I would have made it required reading for all my junior troops coming up through the ranks. Even though it was directed toward the medical field, the traits and skills are the same that any aspiring leader needs to be successful. I recommend Caraâs book to anyone who is looking to further their career into management.

This is an amazing and much needed book

This is an amazing and much needed book. As a nurse educator I can relate to so many topics in this book! It is extremely relevant because we often choose good clinicians to be leaders and forget to give them leadership training and/or equip them with the tools they need to succeed in leadership. Being a good clinician doesn't always translate to being a good leader, it takes a different skill set such as skills taught in this book. This would be an excellent book for anyone in leadership or anyone who is training staff regarding leadership. It breaks things down in an easy to read manner and is written in a way that you can refer back to it quickly as needed. Excellent resource!

I was surprised at the amount of useful information contained in this book. It was presented in an easy to understand format and covered many areas related to management of individuals focused on healthcare services, however I believe it would help in other field's likewise. Covered was how important using the correct language is, how to conflict resolution, why fear isn't an effective tool when your team consists of fellow professionals.
