Maybe for very young kids...

The stories are not terribly engaging. My granddaughter is in 2nd grade and she could predict where the stories were going.

Something new every night.

Every night we look forward to a new story. As a mom, I like that they are short and to the point, but without sparing the storyline. My kids enjoy the questions at the end, and easily relate with the characters. I would recommend this book to others for sure.

5 Year Old Really Enjoyed This story.

I read this to my 5 year old great-grandson while he was visiting me and he really enjoyed it. He is hyperactive and was able to sit and listen to the story. All of Uncle Amon's books seem to make a hit with my great-grandchildren (all my grandkids are adults now.)

Truly a Great Book!

The book, Ellena the Elephant Learns Why She Should Tidy Up her Toys, is truly a great book for parents who want to instill in their children the importance of cleaning up and being organized. It is a delightful read, full of colorful illustrations and just enough drama to keep any young child's attention. It is a moving tale that teaches us all how even our smallest actions can impact others. I highly recommend this book to all parents, teachers and caregivers who desire for their young children to be ever more thoughtful in a growing and seemingly chaotic world.

Nice book to teach this imp. Thing

My kid could relate to this very much. And I am sue this has left some impact on him. He was very attentive thru out the story.

Great lesson for children

This is an excellent way go teach children about responsibilities. Children are never to young to learn to take care of their personal possessions. In this book Ellen's learns the importance of putting away her toys when she loses her favorite toy and causes her brother to get injured. A cute iBook with a great message.

Books for Kids: Peewee the Playful Puppy: Bedtime Stories For Kids Ages 3-8 (Kids Books - Bedtime Stories For Kids - Children's Books - Free Stories) (Fun Time Series for Beginning Readers)

Free ebook gift is linkable in the book. This story follows Peewee the puppy who is waiting in the garage in a box. He is to be Lizzie's 7th birthday surprise. Fun activities along the way also ask you questions.

Another day she is outside with Peewee and he gets away from her as he spots a squirrel. The squirrel is frightened thinking the puppy wants to eat him....

Another story is about making gingerbread cookies-what a disaster! First time in the snow is a good one also.

And Peewee meets tiger the family cat. Other puzzles at the end and cat and dog jokes as well.

~~Understanding Others~~

This collection has a total of five stories and all of them feature Peewee, a dog that was given as a birthday present to Lizzie.

I liked Peewee and the Squirrel the best. To me it shows that dogs and squirrels can play together and have fun. Hazelnut or Hazel for short, is Peewee's new friend and they have a wonderful time together.

One thing that Uncle Amon stresses in this book is that a 'little understanding goes a long way".

Most highly recommended.

Amazing kids book!

Without any doubt this is a five-star book! My son just read his first Junior novel last week, and he was ALL OVER this book! I have wanted to for sometime get into writing children's book, and this book has given me the inspiration I needed. I have decided that I am going to try my hand at it.

Thank you so much for giving me this book for free - You have inspired me, and entertained my son! Can't wait for the next one!

Comes with Group Activities

The focus was on lessons that, quite frankly, seemed a little disjointed from the story. I did like the lessons that were intended as a main focus and for a daycare or classroom this book is very well suited. There is an activity after every story that can be used to entertain a group of children, which is a fun way to interact with kids and encourage their learning.

The lesson about wearing roller blades while walking a dog is a very good one, and I wish in addition to the other lessons there had been a quick few about the proper care of puppies and how much work it takes. This book was in an excellent position to use a fun way to teach children how to properly care for a puppy, but I feel like that opportunity was missed.

I didn't particularly care for the berries that the squirrel threw out of the berry tree. There is only a handful of trees in the whole world that produce berries and of those few, even fewer are considered edible. I think the tree should have had nuts so as not to confuse smaller children about where berries come from. I found myself worried about kids in yards playing under a tree that contains mistletoe.
