When the world entered pandemic lockdown in spring 2020, Robyn Maynard, influential author of Policing Black Lives, and Leanne Betasamosake Simpson, renowned artist, musician, and author of Noopiming: The Cure for White Ladies, began writing each other letters—a gesture sparked by a desire for kinship and connection in a world shattering under the intersecting crises of pandemic, police killings, and climate catastrophe. These letters soon grew into a powerful exchange about where we go from here. Rehearsals for Living is a captivating and visionary work—part debate, part dialogue, part lively and detailed familial correspondence between two razor-sharp writers. By articulating to each other Black and Indigenous perspectives on our unprecedented here and now, and reiterating the long-disavowed histories of slavery and colonization that have brought us to this moment, Maynard and Simpson create something new: an urgent demand for a different way forward, and a poetic call to dream up other ways of ordering earthly life.

Title: Royalty Author: Kelly Mass Narrator: Doug Greene Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 2 hours 24 minutes Release date: June 7, 2022 Genres: History & Culture Publisher's Summary: This book consists of 3 titles, which are about the following topics: 1 - Eleanor of Aquitaine is a controversial figure in history. Many have referred to her in a different light. Some with some opinions, others with others. Today, you will learn more about those and get as many facts straight as possible. Though meant to represent the extension of the unbroken line of Emperors from Augustus to Constantine VI, Charlemagne's crowning led to the facility of 2 different (and usually competing) Empires and claims to royal authority. It led to war in 802, and for centuries later, the Emperors of the West and the East would contend for supremacy over the whole continent. 2 - From June twentieth, 1837, to her death in the year 1901, Victoria ruled as Queen of the UK of Great Britain and Ireland. Her rule of 63 years and 7 months, called the Victorian period, was the longest of any British emperor before her. It was a period of considerable commercial, social, technical, and army development in the U.K., and also a period of great British Empire growth. The British Parliament gave her the additional title of Rule and Empress of India in the year 1876. 3 - Richard I ruled as King of England from 1189 to 1199. He also governed as Duke of Normandy, Aquitaine, and Gascony, Lord of Cyprus, and Count of Poitiers, Anjou, Maine, and Nantes, and also being ruler of Brittany at different periods. He was the 3rd of 5 sons of King Henry II of England and Eleanor of Aquitaine, and he appeared not likely to prosper his dad as king, but all of his brothers had passed away before him, other than the youngest, John.

The war was over and David, returning to East Africa, asked himself, as did many of his contemporaries, 'what next'? It was not an easy world in which to readjust. He opted to become a Livvestock Marketing Officer in Dodoma, with the Tanganyika Veterinary Department. Money was short, and Pat, who had also been demobbed and had joined him in Dodoma, nursed to help augment their income. Finally, the break David had been hoping for materialized and he embarked on a new chapter in his life as a wheat farmer on the Western slopes of Kilimanjaro. With no formal training, David survived largely on his local knowledge and language skills, supplemented by his cattle buying. Life on 'Mountainside' suited David, despite the constant battle against Africa's unforgiving environment, but the winds of change were to bring a greater challenge and one that would ultimately end David's dreams.

Title: [Spanish] - Diario de una perdida Author: Margarete Bohme Narrator: Gabriela Garcia Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 10 hours 50 minutes Release date: May 31, 2022 Genres: History & Culture Publisher's Summary: Este libro supuso una conmoción en 1905.

Title: [Spanish] - Mi rey caído Author: Laurence Debray Narrator: Estela Fernández Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 4 hours 58 minutes Release date: May 26, 2022 Genres: History & Culture Publisher's Summary: El fascinante y verdadero relato de la vida de Juan Carlos I, Rey de España. Shakespeare no podría haberlo narrado mejor.
