I have always admired Mesut Özil as a football player. Being able to read this book and understand more about him as a person as well as certain areas of football was very interesting. I found this book to be inspirational and humbling.

Interesting Story

Betty Grable was one of my favorite screen stars. I saw and enjoyed all her

pictures. The book was well written and I was glad I got it. Only regret is

her dying at such an early age in such an awful way. She deserved better

for all the joy she brought to the public.

(Another background story of how a stage mother pushed her female child into

show business ie: Judy Garland, Gypsy Rose Lee, June Haver and now Betty Grable too!

Would have really liked to see some old pictures from the movies or ...

Some details I didn't know, but most things have been written about in other places. Once again

shocking how the old Hollywood system worked. Would have really liked to see some old pictures

from the movies or personal about her and her family. Not sure why some weren't included. Some

must be public at least. Did this on Kindle, but that shouldn't matter. Enjoyed the read.

Loved Her, Don't Love The Book

Kind of shallow. Not really in depth. I was hoping for more. Most of what I read could be found in newspaper articles. As a little girl, I saw all her movies and loved her. Don't love this book about her. Even the cover is not one of her best photos.

Very enjoyable

The writing style was neither gushing or dry. Betty Grable's personality was well represented. A little more detail would have made the book more interesting, but overall it was a very good read.

Enjoyed the insight and fascinating journey of Dan

I'm a big mma fan but was never really a huge fan of Dan Hardy until after the end of his fighting career and the start of his commentary/fight breakdown career. It was really interesting to hear his beginnings and his journey to find himself. A lot of relatable thought patterns and really inspiring for me.

Salt of the earth dude

Apart from the narrators questionable pronunciation of certain fighters names, this is my first audio book that had me hook line and sinker!!!

Dans story is fantastic. Real humble guy, for every story he has of greatness he soon knocks himself back down and finds balance in life. Comes across as a real down to earth guy and has a great story to share, get on it

Very enjoyable

I personally really enjoyed this book. A very interesting and relatable life story, full of martial arts and UFC references.

I may be a tad biase in my recommendation of the book however. The heavy martial arts and MMA backdrop may be a bit much for some.

Because I'm a fan of Dan Hardy and mixed martials in general, all the fighters and fights mentioned were instantly familiar to me and the differing perspective quite fascinating.

My only small criticism is that the narrator mispronounces some fighting styles and fighters names on occasion. Like I said though, it's not a big deal and by no means detracted from my enjoyment.

In fairness, most people probably won't even notice.

If you are a fan of MMA, I wholeheartedly recommend giving this a try.

What a disappointment

I am a Dan Hardy fan. I am a MMA fan. I was at UFC 120 live to see Dan Hardy. I was upset that I couldn't go to waterstones in London to get a signed copy of his book and meet him. I thought the next best thing is to hear Dan read his book himself. What a disappointment it was when I realised that he didn't even narrate his own book. Instead I got someone meant to sound similar and yet has no idea about the world of MMA. I know this because nearly every fighters name he read was mispronounced. I feel bad giving this only 1 star because I want Dan to do well but I feel cheated out of time, money and admiration.

Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Green's Career

It follows Green's career from his entry into the league in 2012 up to his role in the Warrior's 2015 run. A great biography of a notable sports figure.

Great book full of statistics

Great book full of statistics. I was amazed at the depth of research that went into this book. It is also an easy read. I would recommend this book to any sports lover. I received a discounted copy for review purposes.

Not really a story, it's a scorecard.

This isn't as much a book as it is a record of Draymond Greens scorecard. I don't know this for a fact, but it would appear that every point Draymond made in every game has been recorded in this book. I have to admit some effort was made to demonstrate the depth of knowledge the author has about Draymond Green's Basketball player history. It just does not appear much effort went into getting inside the head of Draymond and telling his story from his point of view. It's very hard for me to grasp why this book would be "Inspiring" as I have zero knowledge of what other players might have done to make a comparison with.

This book would be a sports fan bible but from a general readability standpoint, I would call this Draymond Green's Basketball career scorecard and game accomplishments.The brief mention of Draymond's childhood and home life almost seems to be generalized instead of written from a personal interview with him or family members with first-hand knowledge. There is some discussion of the generous 3.1 million dollar donation to Draymond's beloved school to help provide a more modern athletic opportunity for the students, I found that interesting and inspirational so I can't say this book is as terrible as one review claims it to be.

Good read, biography style, overall writing style not as great as other books posted by author.

While this book had a lot of great information about Green's scores and sports career, there is not too much info on his background. I would definitely consider this book mildly inspiring, but more up the alley of those who are extreme sports fanatics and want to know Green's scores throughout his career and early basketball career scores up until he became a renowned player.

Makes you feel like you knew him. Makes you cry.

Through films we begin to feel like we know an actor. The various characters an actor plays form in our minds a certain sense of the persona. Through a good biography we begin to feel like we knew the person. We smile for and with them, we have frowns as we read, we feel anxious when theyve felt it, and then if its a really well written biography we cry. And cry I did.

I was born in 1981. And my understanding of Shashi Kapoor had always been as a mild mannered counter part to people like Amitabh Bachchan. Thanks to this book Ive now realised at 36, that Shashi Kapoor was such a beautiful actor, star and Husband. Choosing to do films with people for passion, working always as a professional, and most importantly being first a Husband, in love, seeking and surrendering, made Shashi Kapoor an immensely lovable star for me post reading this book. My Mother used to love the Merchant Ivory films and Id almost forgotten that Id watched so many of them growing up. Now Ill probably watch a lot of them again. Really glad I read this book. What touched me the most and will stay with me forever was his love for his Wife and how that mounded him into his best self. Till she was no more.

What did you like most about The Art of Cycling?

This is a great insight into cycling competition, and into the lengths to which one can push the body if efficiency and excellence is prioritised above all.I never knew Evans was a mountain-biking world champion before he switched to road racing, and all the origin story information was fantastic. It was great to see the parts all come together to allow a boy from rural Australia move to Europe and take on the giants in the cycling world.Of particular note, I really enjoyed the writing style of this book. Evans maintained professionalism through most challenging interactions and even managed to find positivity in the recollection of the tough times in his career and life. In current days where it seems almost in vogue to let the mofos fly, Evans shows mature restraint and always finds a more constructive was to illustrate his response to what he's presented with.For me, the book slowed down a little when diving into deep detail of many of the races he took part in.
