It's just as important as who is in your corner. And it's critical that you both operate within the correct corner. This is an unbelievably insightful book. Dr. Cloud is masterful in pulling things into focus. Chapter 11 is MUST READ/MUST LISTEN for everyone that matters in your life. That chapter alone is priceless.

This book took me by surprise--- thankfully so. I have often considered 'needing others' to be a weakness. This work has opened a new option in life for me and stuffed my tool box with great ways to begin.

The story was hard to get into at the beginning. as I continue to listen, I became more engaged with the material it's probably worth going back and listening to those first few chapters again.

Tremendous insight written in a story form

I really enjoyed the Go-Giver and The Go-Giver Leader didn't disappoint. It adds on to the first book but reading/listening to the first book isn't required to glean from this book.

Since the book is written in a story form, it is an easy listen with take away points throughout the book and at the end. The narration is very good filled with a few memorable characters and my overall favorite is the 'aunt'.

Not only does the book illustrate the essence of a leader but it outlines the characteristics in a manner that stays with the reader/listener without feeling 'scolded'.

I highly recommend this book.

Great Lessons

I had heard John's story before. But the lessons he brings in this book that he had to learn much harder than most of us ever will are inspiring. It proves that excuses are just that, and if you want to be successful only you can make that choice.

Sincere and Motivational

Although I appreciate this heartfelt true story, the author is not a good narrator which is annoying and distracting.

In the written version does he actually write "freaking" (which is slang for the F-word) so much. I would rather he used the full strength word!

Burning with hope and faith

If one can listen or read this story of tragedy and triumph and not be inspired to live life at it's fullest intention, then there probably is no hope because I could not from the first words just sit idiot and not want to live more fully. I am going to listen to it again and again because it takes stories like this to keep the fire burning and reminding me it's not over yet. There is plenty of opportunity to live and be my greatest self.

Couldn't put it down!

Loved this book! Listened every moment I could! Definitely a book I'll listen to again.

Pretty slow, but structurally informative

I don't think I could ever read this book, so I am glad I was able to listen to it on my daily commute. Kind of dry, but I think it holds a lot of structural solutions to negotiating.

Life is a negotiation

There were some great examples of considerations given to the opposing side well worth contemplation.

We too often fail to put ourselves in the other sides shoes and this fail to consider that the reasons for their positioning may be completely different from what we think.

Filled with great tips for expanding your thinking

After listening to this audio I realized that I have been selling myself short. There are so many possibilities out there and I had been limited by my thinking and by the thinking of those around me. I found a bunch of great tips to help bring my life to a better place, such as how to quell fears and boost my confidence, along with great tips for bringing the right attitude to my life and work each day along with some great habits to integrate into my life.

I also really loved the idea of joining a mastermind... I am going to work on that immediately as I am tired of listening to losers who have no faith that anything big can get done. It will be nice to have a positive group to work with.

Go ahead and take some notes because this is non stop great information from beginning to end! I am highly motivated now to start doing some Big Things in my life now!
