Different!
Crazy story! Part urban legend, part romance, and part horror story. Highly entertaining, and worth every cent. I went into this story expecting a gruesome tale, and wasn't disappointed, but I didn't expect the strange and unusual twists the plot took. The narrator did a great job without detracting from the story, which is great, because it's the first time I've heard from him,but it hopefully won't be the last.

From the title and cover art, I was expecting a horror story. It was definitely creepy but more comical. If you need a good laugh, this story will give you one! Very creative story by Brian Barr. Almost a romantic horror I guess. Loved the narration by Rick Gregory. This is my first time listening to him. Definitely enjoyed it!
The head
Oddly entertaining.Creepy crawly, etc.Rick Gregory is a fine narrator for this short book.I think boys of a certain age would prefer this story.A woman finds a head in her mothers garden.Instead of calling police...she takes it home.It speaks to her...seriously.The tale continues with a very creepy ending.I was provided this book free by the author, narrator or publisher.
Very odd, but hard to put down
This is a very odd story, but it jumps right into it with very little preamble and once started, I found it hard to stop. It's quite silly in concept, but the author puts it all together in such a way that subtley acknowledges that fact while still sticking to it. It felt like an episode of The Twilight Zone
For me, it came apart a bit once we got toward the end and the "explanations" started being served up. It was silly, sure, but what really bugged me is that it didn't seem to make any sort of logical sense. Yes, that explains most of the story, but again, the writing lent itself to that and didn't try to make you feel otherwise. The ending however, seemed as if it was trying to make sense, but the pieces didn't quite fit together.
The narrator did a fine job carrying this tale though. The voice perfectly matched the tone of bemusement in my own mind.
Overall, decent listen if you don't try to make sense of it all and just go for the ride.

While working on her deceased mother's garden, Elizabeth finds a man's severed head. When she was about to call 911 'the Head' starts talking to her and convinces her to not call the cops and take him inside.
