  • Decluttering for Christmas 2020 (#133)
This Christmas will be different from normal due to the dreaded COVID-19 virus that has hit the globe. Unfortunately families and friends won’t be able to meet in big gatherings, as they would do normally, which means reduced gifting, celebrating and most importantly eating. We wanted to discuss how to prepare for this pared down Christmas this year and how to take advantage of the smaller celebration with my favourite organising tips. To listen to this new episode play or search for “Decluttr Me” on your favourite podcast player. Hope you enjoy the episode! • Digital Music (#132)
On this week’s episode, I discovered that I am a music snob and Chirag (producer extraordinaire) is a pragmatic and more organised person when it comes to our personal digital music collections. We have our ways of organising the music we own and we have shared our methods on collecting and listening to music. Hope you enjoy the episode! • The Living Room (#131)
In this week’s new episode we are talking about the room where we spend the most time (after the bedroom) in the house--the living room. The living room can become the black hole of clutter as it is the epicentre to hang out with family, friends and watch tv. How often do you find random toiletries, make-up, toys, books, etc in the living room which should be elsewhere? I thought it would be great to discuss the items that are cluttering the space and also how to declutter the items you don’t need from the room and also from your home. We mentioned the following episodes in this episode: * [Mini - Decluttering](https://www.decluttrme.com/blog/2019/06/12/mini-decluttering) * [Netflix](https://www.decluttrme.com/blog/2019/07/13/netflix-and-declutter) * [Toys ](https://www.decluttrme.com/blog/2019/07/13/netflix-and-declutter ) * [Books](https://www.decluttrme.com/blog/2018/11/26/organising-your-paper-books) * [Black Friday](https://www.decluttrme.com/blog/2018/11/21/black-friday-sales) * [Mobiles and other devices](https://www.decluttrme.com/blog/2018/10/02/decluttering-your-mobile-phones-and-other-devices) * [Game Consoles and Games](https://www.decluttrme.com/blog/2019/07/25/decluttering-your-game-consoles) Thanks for listening as always and do let us know if you have any topics you would like us to discuss on an episode. • The Anxiety of Clutter (#130)
During this year, I have felt my clients and followers are more anxious when talking about their clutter and dealing with it. The clutter cloud seems to be bigger and all encompassing especially as people are staying at home and seeing the clutter within it more. Also with more shows coming onto tv focusing on decluttering and organising, there is this is feeling guilt or remorse of houses not looking as amazing as seen on tv. I wanted to talk about this anxiousness that has increased during this year and also how to deal with it, without feeling more anxious or upset. To listen to this new episode, click play below or you can listen to it on your favourite podcast player (just search for Decluttr Me). We discussed on this episode what we discussed with Dr Saliha from [The Lighthouse Arabia](https://www.lighthousearabia.com/) in episode 94, which you can [hear](https://www.decluttrme.com/blog/2020/02/26/decluttering-mental-health-with-dr-saliha-afridi-part-i.) here. • Understanding Chronic Fatigue with guest Sarah Bahar (#129)
This week my guest is my lovely friend Sarah Bahar. She has Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which is a condition involving deep fatigue, unrefreshing sleep, and a worsening of symptoms after exertion. It is something that people have talked about for a few years and I have had 1 or 2 clients with the syndrome. Due to the fatigue that can occur on a regular basis, it can become difficult to clean the house and ensure that clutter doesn’t build up. I thought it would be great to discuss this syndrome with Sarah and also see how she deals with it on a day to day basis to help others who have the same condition. • What is Hoarding, with guest Jasmine Sleigh from Change Your Space (#127)
This week I wanted to delve into hoarding. Hoarding is a big issue here in the Middle East especially with the older generation, but they are wary to have someone come in and help them declutter. The younger generation are getting very frustrated, but they are limited by what they can do to help them. I have seen a few potential clients who I think have hoarding tendencies but have not helped them eventually due to their reservations of having someone come in and help. I thought it would be great to discuss hoarding and what it actually means, how to identify if you or someone is a hoarding and also how a Professional Organiser help clients to declutter and organise. As I am not an expert on hoarding, I have asked the lovely Jasmine Sleigh, of Change your Space to join our podcast today. Jasmine has been helping her clients in Exmouth, Devon since 2013 and is the go-to hoarding expert in South West England. Hope you enjoy the episode!

  • Wallets & purses (#126)
We have chatted about organising bags a few times, but we have never delved into those all important purses and wallets. They may be small, but it is very easy for them to become clutter carriers in a short space of time. From cash, cards, loyalty cards and receipts, as well as other random items, they are the used every day, but overlooked often when decluttering and organising. On this weeks’ episode, I give my top tips on how to declutter the inside of your purse or wallet, how to organise them and how to deal with items that you find in your wallets and purses. I recently had the honour of being the main speaker at the start of the Dubai Home Festival 2020 at Nakheel Mall, The Palm Jumeirah. In collaboration with JYSK, I discussed my business, how to organise and declutter your room using my favourite tips and also which JYSK products to use to get organised and also have a peaceful sleep (they have lovely pillows and mattresses). Thanks to JYSK, Dubai Tourism, DSS and Nakheel Mall for the opportunity during this exciting event. Hope you enjoy the episode! • Netflix’s Get Organized with The Home Edit (#124)
Netflix has released a new series on decluttering and organising called Get Organised with the Home Edit. It seemed only right to watch a few episodes and give a review of the show for you guys to listen to. The ladies from The Home Edit work very similarly to myself (except I use less boxes - clutter), so it was great to discuss how they work, how it relates to Decluttr Me and what aspects were not my cup of tea.
