Have you ever stopped to question whether your dreams and ambitions are truly your own, or have they been shaped by societal expectations, family pressures, or other external factors? While it's natural to be influenced by those around us, it's important to take a step back and reflect on what truly drives us. In today's episode, Lindsay Sutherland and Brandon Davis will explore the idea of whether our dreams and ambitions are really our own, and how to identify and pursue the goals that align with our authentic selves.
Lindsay spent nearly 20 years in a job she no longer loved, all in the effort to provide for her family and continue living her so-called "dream." Despite the constant battle she had inside of her head, she continued to work there, because after all, she once considered it her dream job. Brandon Davis, host of the Get Over Yourself podcast, interviewed Lindsay about her mental state during this time as well as how she eventually began to realize that working in her career no longer was her dream.

Project 50 is a mental toughness challenge similar to 75 Hard, which involves completing 50 consecutive days of specific physical and mental tasks. The challenge includes tasks such as waking up before 8 AM, adhering to some form of a morning routine, exercising for an hour a day, reading 10 pages in a book, dedicating 1 hour towards a new skill, completing a healthy diet plan, and tracking all your results in a journal. Project 50 is a good challenge because it helps individuals develop mental resilience, discipline, and perseverance. By committing to and completing the challenge, individuals can build a sense of accomplishment and confidence, which can carry over into other areas of their lives. Additionally, the specific tasks can help promote healthy habits and personal growth.
In today's episode of the Get Over Yourself Podcast, MJ Kimbrough joined host, Brandon Davis, to discuss his journey through Project 50. MJ is a young hustler at the age of just 18 YEARS OLD! It's classified as a challenge for a reason. Over 90% of people who start 75 hard end up failing after the first couple of weeks. Between the physical exertion and mental fatigue, nobody is immune to the failure. Despite that high rate of failure, Chase Stenzel, was able to conquer the challenge and learn about himself in the process. Make sure to listen to part 1 of Chase's journey through 75 hard and tune back in, next Friday, to hear the rest.
