Title: Sherry David Guth: From Ms. Chitty-Chat Mid-Manager to Ms. On-Point Senior Staff
Subtitle: The Power of Being Articulate
    Author: Pete Geissler
    Narrator: Gregory Allen Siders
    Format: Unabridged
    Length: 46 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 11-10-15
    Publisher: The Expressive Press
    Genres: Business, Career Skills
    Publisher's Summary:
This chapter-level book can help make you wealthy and happy or, depending on your situation, wealthier and happier - but only if you approach it with an open mind.
Start with this thought: Your success in your professional, financial, and personal lives depends to a great extent on your ability to articulate. I first learned the truth and power behind that statement when I lived in a grimy coal-mining and steel-making town in Pennsylvania, where it was clear that articulate professionals were more successful than the less articulate miners and mill workers. My education continued years later at the top levels of government, business, and academe, where I observed power brokers and decision makers use their considerable skills with language to think clearly, arrive at logical decisions, and convey those decisions clearly to others. And over the years, I saw that my happiest friends and associates were able to communicate clearly with spouses and others with whom they enjoy close relationships.
In short, my intuition told me that language is the root cause of a more fulfilled life. Then along came Pete and this book. He explained the premise in his own articulate way, converting my intuition to reality such that I agreed to be profiled in a chapter, and I'm now foreword. Throughout recorded history, many thinkers have noted the importance of being articulate and the power of words; you'll find a few of their comments in the book. Pete, however, goes a giant step further by connecting articulation to wealth and happiness and to the clear thinking and better decisions that thwart mediocrity. He quite correctly points out that we think in words, and we need more words to think with as the issues we need to resolve become more complex, as they do as we rise in any organization and as our close relationships mature.
Pete has successfully and clearly connected wealth, happiness, and words with compelling evidence.

Title: Secrets to Organizing a Speech for Maximum Impact
Subtitle: How to Put Together a Speech That Will Capture and Hold Your Audience's Attention
    Author: Jim Anderson
    Narrator: Jim Anderson
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 1 hr and 2 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 10-28-15
    Publisher: Blue Elephant Consulting
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 1 votes
    Genres: Business, Career Skills
    Publisher's Summary:
The goal of any speaker is that when they give their speech, their audience hangs on their every word. In order to make this happen, we need to find ways to organize our speech so that we can both capture and hold our audience's attention from start to finish.
    What you'll find inside:
Every speech has to start out well, and this is a great opportunity to do some bragging about yourself to your audience. Al Gore has some tips for us so that we can understand what budgets we have to spend during our speech. If you get asked to give more than one speech in a day, you're going to have to know how to manage your voice for the duration.
If you want your next speech to make an impression then you are going to have to find a way to inspire your audience. This all starts with how you plan on capturing your audience's attention. Networking with your audience is the key to getting them to listen to what you are going to be telling them.
Everything you do starts from the moment that the curtain goes up. What your audience thinks of you is often determined by the introduction. If you get asked to deliver a keynote, then you are going to need to get some guidance on how to create and deliver one successfully.
In the end, it's how you choose to organize your speech that will determine the impact that it will have on your audience. Carefully creating a speech that has all of the parts that you are going to need in order to capture your audience's attention is what is going to make your next speech memorable.

Title: The Way of the Dog: The Art of Making Success Inevitable
    Author: Geoff Burch
    Narrator: Geoff Burch
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 3 hrs and 2 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 10-05-15
    Publisher: geoff burch
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 1 votes
    Genres: Business, Career Skills
    Publisher's Summary:
The Way of the Dog is a self-help classic. It tells the story of failed salesman, Derek Stubbins, who wanders into a Grimm brothers nightmare and gets turned into a dog. He has to learn the way of the dog to get by. He has to develop the simple, clear way of thinking that a sheepdog has for its task. In doing so, he finds that he can achieve any goal he desires. It's the perfect pathway to success.
Why a dog? A dog has only two states of thought, which are happy, and waiting to be happy. When it has a task to do, it sees the beginning and the end. It doesn't become anxious or depressed at the size of the job, but just undertakes it and deals with obstacles as they come. It always succeeds.
Geoff Burch taps into the core of great personal development in The Way of the Dog. He focuses on the two big questions: what do you want to do with your life, and how do you do it? By following the way of the dog, each obstacle in your path is dealt with unfailingly, one at a time. And if you don't know where you're going or what you need to make you happy, the sheepdog will show you how to recognize a sheep and not to waste time with goats.
The Way of the Dog offers timeless, accessible, fast-paced, funny, and memorable advice. Inspiring lifestyle wisdom is brought out through simple storytelling. Plan your course through life and overcome every obstacle in your path by adopting The Way of the Dog's map to success. Unlike the instructions in flat-pack furniture, anyone can understand it; it's easy to do, and the outcome will not be a surprise or a disappointment. The Way of the Dog contains the secrets of success.
    Members Reviews:
    This is a brilliant book
A simple tale of a dog, who shows how humans can achieve their dreams by just acting like a normal dog, this fairy tale includes a cast of characters that portray the people you meet and want to meet in life. Geoff Burch, the author, mixes in sage advice pointing out the hows and whys in his own very down to earth silly but true amusing style.
Dont let the short length put you off, if you can say it in blah there is no need for blah, blah. Geoff Burch narration adds to the story with barks, whimpers, and fruity voices.
The only thing that lets the book down is the title.

    Publisher's Summary:
"A bad writer has no rights whatever. Any mercy shown to him is wasted and mistaken." (H. L. Mencken, 1880-1956)
I wrote The Power of Writing Well to address everything managers, leaders, engineers, scientists, and others need to be better senders and receivers, not to cover everything they need to know about the language or to be the perfect sender or receiver; nobody is.
The many books on writing and communicating that claim to be everything to everybody fail simply because they are overwhelmingly complex, full of jargon and useless labels and distinctions, such as participial phrases as opposed to gerund phrases or transitive verbs versus intransitive verbs. Most of us outside of academe don't care, and we shouldn't since they are not relevant to our needs.
This short book condenses the habits and techniques - your tools - that work most of the time for most of the people who write at work and want to be happier in all parts of their lives: nothing more, nothing less . It is also a true and accurate reflection of my 40 years of writing for business and of teaching writing at two prestigious universities and many professional societies and companies. You can trust that what I'm telling you will improve your abilities to communicate and think and make you more productive, promotable, and happy. It will also make your organization more efficient and profitable.
I guarantee it, and my students attest to it .

Success leaves clues - Mike has compiled them for you
I just finished reading Mike's book "Ain't No Success Secrets" and its an excellent read! Ton Robbins once said, "Long ago, I realized that success leaves clues, and that people who produce outstanding results do specific things to create those results. I believed that if I precisely duplicated the actions of others, I could reproduce the same quality of results that they had."
Mike has done a great job compiling some of these "success clues" from names you'll absolutely recognize, and put them together in a way that gives you a map of sorts that you can use to emulate their success.
Thanks Mike and keep up the great work,
