Publisher's Summary:
'The Cask of Amontillado' is Edgar Allan Poes short but enigmatic masterpiece. Set in an unnamed Italian City we hear the story of how Montresor lures Fortunato through the catacombs into the Montresor family vault and there chains him up and bricks him in for eternity. Why he does it we will never know, but he does so with a casual savagery that is truly chilling.
"Cask' was recorded on location in ancient vaults. Every footstep and cough, every brick and every echo are captured and you will never forget hearing the final, faraway declamation: 'In pace requiescat'
Pull on your headphones and Horror-Fi yourself. 'Revolutionise' is an often overused word; however this is what Horror-Fi achieve with their new recording technology/process for recording audio drama. Horror-Fis highly innovative production technique allows you the listener to immerse your aural senses in the very heart of the drama. Listen through head phones and experience the ultra vivid world the 3D Audio recording technique creates inside your mind.
Critic Reviews:
"Have just listened to cask late at night with earphones! Can I say I thought this was tremendous, A real quantum leap forward. I know my Poe and I can't remember hearing a better audio adaptation of his work: Your Montressor is a terrific actor and, of course I was hugely impressed by the way the echoey vaults acoustic serves the drama." (Marty Ross)
"This is another type of experience, another level for audio drama, I have listened to plenty of excellent audio drama by the BBC but Horror-fi makes audio drama even better." (Elena Agullo Bernabeau)

Good, but the story is NOT an annotated work.
While this is a good text of the original story By Poe, it is important to know that it is NOT "Annotated."
While there is a separate book about Poe included with this, making well worth the price, the actual story is not annotated
with additional information, references, and historical information usually found within an annotated work.
It is well worth the price, but it is mislabeled as an annotated text.
Almost seems you are there....
The very first sentence sucks you into the story. It is a short story of revenge. I honestly didn't find anything to dislike. A story of fiction but it does describe, in my opinion, the darkness of humanity. Most human beings would not dare act this story out. But I'm sure lots of us have imagine scenarios at one point in our lives where we would like to play it out in reality.
This is an abridged recording, not unabridged as the description states.
Very disappointed with this audio version. The sample recording sounded great, which is why I purchased it. The description says "unabridged" and it is not. There are parts missing making it hard for a student to follow along with the text. Hoping I can get a refund.
Great job
This is one of my favorite stories. The translation was great. I love the way the translations have hyperlinks. I think all dual language kindle books should be set up this way.
Four Stars
Very well Written in details,
