    Good read
This book wasn't bad I think the best part about this book is the ending and how the internal conflict regarding money or your self comes into perspective. This book is for the young readers. Right is right and wrong is wrong on all levels.
    Oh yes, loved it!!
I could not stop listening, I enjoyed this book sooo much. From beginning to the end this book was off the chain!!! I cant wait to read more from this author!!
    Brilliantly written and narrated!
Where does Real Wifeys rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
    In the top 10
Who was your favorite character and why?
Goldie was my favorite character. She had a lot of values, self-esteem, and was honest with herself.
    Which scene was your favorite?
When Goldie took charge and finally decided that she would no longer be involved with her older man after he disowned her when his wife found out about their relationship.
If you could take any character from Real Wifeys out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Goldie, because she was real and fun and even though she chose to make her money the way she did, Lord knows that she tried to be a good person with values.
    Any additional comments?
I highly recommend this book. It is well written and the narrator brought so much life and compassion, and laughter to the main character's struggles and triumphs.
Too Much of a Good Thing
I listened to the whole story. But it was too much rambling about her p*ssy walls or throbbing p*ssy. It just wasn't necessary. There were some good parts but more unnecessary dialogue. I think the author had a good idea. The book may interest younger readers. I wouldn't suggest it to the mature readers and/or listeners.
    Awesome Lesson
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
    Absolutely....its what happening everyday
Who was your favorite character and why?
Goldie...she is very truthful...and understand the consequences of what she does
    Which scene was your favorite?
When Goldie bet the hell out of her ex-step daughter
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
    Real Wifeys: On the Grind
    Any additional comments?
    not at all...absolutely service

    Well written book
This was a good book but nowhere near what i really wanted to listen to. It did get a bit boring.
    Treacherous
I'm glad I don't know anyone who is as conniving and low-down as this. It's hard to feel sorry for Charlotte at all. She's been such a self-centered, childish, manipulative, cut-throat, black-hearted trollop. Maybe the purpose of this book was to let Rev. Curtis Black have a taste of the same bitter medicine he's been dosing out to his wives over the years. They're all too old to be doing the foolish things they do ... especially as leaders of a church. I didn't like this sick, twisted story, but the author and the narrator did a good job of letting it unfold slowly.
    Great Book!
Once again, Kimberla has done a great job. Lots of twists and turns and leaves you wanting more. Can't wait for the next book.
    Betray
I cant believe that Charlotte act that way toward a little baby (Curtina). She didn't ask to come here. But that is what she get for Betraying a marriage. AWESOME book. I love Kimberla books and I have ALL of them. Charlotte is a mess. Excellent title, but I say betray because that is how I felt Charlotte did to everyone.
    Horrible and Unrealistic
I did NOT enjoy this book at all. I found it impossible to relate to any of the characters, as I dont know anyone so corrupt in real life. I didn't really see any loving and honoring, but there sure was lots of betraying going on. You initially want to sympathize with the main characters, but the wife is so close minded and self absorbed that it becomes impossible. The man is continually called a 'good man,' and doesn't know why his wife is not more understanding about his affair, except he's had an affair on ALL of his wives! This is a 'good man'? Also, the narrator is does not do a good job either. She doesn't seem to know how to read to where it sounds as if someone is actually talking. Stresses in all the wrong places, etc... My advice~dont buy this one!

Trinidad-born Justin Peters is a Harvard-educated literature professor, whose focus on the works of "Dead White Men" receives little professional respect at the public Brooklyn college where he teaches. But whatever troubles he might have at work are eclipsed when he realizes his wife, Sally, with whom he shares a four-year-old daughter, is no longer certain about their life together.
Once a poet, now a teacher and nearly 40, Harlem-born Sally wants something more. If Sally and Justin's union is to survive, both must face the crippling echoes of their own pasts before those memories forever cloud and alter their future.

"Nunez's latest (after Discretion) is a perceptive and moving tale of an African-American middle-class marriage struggling to right itself amid tremors of self-discovery." (Publishers Weekly)
"Wise and resonant, it will strike a chord with readers interested in the interplay of race, class, and gender within relationships." (Library Journal)
    Members Reviews:
As usual, a great read from Ms. Nunez
I have read most of Ms. Nunez books and found them wonderful, dignified stories. This one was a very interesting story about a marraige falling apart because the people involved were seeing things differently. That may be an overly simplistic way of putting it, but don't we all sometimes find ourselves shocked to find out someone else sees the same situation completely differently than we do? I always find it intriguing to see a situation from the male and female perspective. I think most people will enjoy 'Grace'. ... and if you like Ms. Nunez' books, you may also enjoy 'When Rocks Dance'. I've had to buy at least 5 copies because people took mine. It was one of her earlier books under the name 'Elizabeth Nunez Harrell', and people often tell me they never heard of it. It is a very original work about love and voodoo set in the Caribbean.
    Good Read...
This is my second read from this author. I like her style. I liked the intricacies of the story about a couple that is at the crossroads in their marriage.
    Realistic!
Elizabeth Nunez has a way of bringing a realistic feel to her work. She is on point in this novel of a struggling marriage with no easy answers. Justin and Sally seem to have a solid marriage. They live in Brooklyn, with a daughter and both have solid careers. But, Sally needs space to find herself. She doesnât feel fulfilled by her present life. Justin is at a loss to understand and feels unloved and he thinks Sally may be having an affair. ââI want to write poetry,â she says. âI want to be a poet.â And he wonders if he did not get it right that morning when he woke up tracing letters in his mind: Sally does Not love me.ââ
Elizabethâs prose is introspective and her inner directed narrative shines. Her ability to write from her characterâs heart is unparalleled. That is what makes her characters come alive and jump off the page. How can we understand Sally, if not for the contemplative narration that Ms. Nunez is so skilled at. Marriage is always a push/pull proposition and can be difficult to navigate. Sally wants more, but more of what and what is keeping her from obtaining that more without damaging her marriage.

    WoW!!!!
I just don't know what to say other than "You did it again"......
This book drew me in and I could not stop until the end. Mr. Dickey you nailed it again and I don't want to forget the narrator Dion Graham who voice is sexy as hell. Between the excellent writing and all some narration I really enjoyed this book.
Audible-I love the way you bring books to life.
    Enjoyed it!
I used to be an avid fan of Mr. Dickey's, but his last few books didn't grab me. I had given up, then decided to give this one a try. I was completely drawn in by the narrator's reading style, and I loved the way the characters evolved. The storyline wasn't formulaic, which was what was disappointed me about his previous works. Kept my rapt attention until the unexpected ending...great listen!
    EJD at his best...Excellent
If you could sum up Tempted by Trouble in three words, what would they be?
    Awesome, Action, Adventure
What did you like best about this story?
This was Eric Jerome Dickey at his best. This story was so creative. I loved all the action, and the ending...OMG so unexpected. BUT GOOD.
    Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene was when Dominque tired to make amends with the women from the car accident.
If you could rename Tempted by Trouble, what would you call it?
    FOOL FOR LOVE.
    Loved this Book!
Well written and extremely satisfying to the end! Written from a fresh perspective with a great ending. I was truly surprised at how good this novel was.
    Good smooth read.
This is a different Dickey, than I am familiar. I have a high regard for EJD as an author. His work continues to evolve. I will read everything he writes. This particular selection held my attention to the end. This selection is interesting, intriguing but not so exciting. The characters are well thought out and charismatic.

    More from Mary B. Morrison!
This book moves very fast! I think it is pretty good. However, I would recommend that listeners either hear or read this author's previous books involving Darius, Fancy, his mother and ex-girlfriend Ashley before buying this book. Otherwise, you will be lost trying to keep up with these characters, their development, and their shannanigans. Once you've read or listened to her previous books in this order: "Soul Mate Dissipate" and "Never Again Once More", you will greatly appreciate this book!
    DARIUS JONES
The book has a great storyline, but the narrator was horrible especially when it came to the male characters of the book...overall I think its a good book
    Very Dissapointed
This is my first listen/read of Mary Morrison & so far I'm pretty disappointed. I'm about halfway through the book and it's getting harder and harder with each passing minute. I'm honestly putting the fault so far on the narrator "Danella" because I've heard that Mary Morrison is all the rave but...Danella is HORRIBLE and at times it seems like she can even read. Will continue and hope it gets better.
    GREAT!
I was hesitant but I am glad I did listen, OMG! I was wanting more and more. There were so many twist and turns that it was hating to have to stop listening for any reason, I cannot wait for more!
    HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Narrator
Mary B. Morrison.......DON'T LET "DANELLA" OBLITERATE YOUR WORK AGAIN...... The horrible reading made it very difficult to concentrate on the story line..

    great story, terrible reader
OMG!the story was awesome, I didn't want to pause it to go to work. The reader on the other hand was terrible. She had no emotion, she couldn't distinguish between a happy part of the book or a sad part. When she was readin the part about the funeral, u couldn't tell whether he was describing a funeral or just household decorating tips. That woman does not need to read another story!
    Average
Average and predictable but a quick read. Very glad I got it for free because I would probably as for a refund.
    Interesting ending
Would you listen to Secret Society again? Why?
This is an interesting read (listen). It kept my attention and is a real insight into this world. The book is believable but, the narrator takes some getting used to!!
didnt enjoy ... couldnt get into the story
This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
    Im not sure
What could Miasha have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
    Idk ...
What didnt you like about Claudia Alecks performance?
Read too fast ... she needed to slow down so that what she was saying could be absorbed
What character would you cut from Secret Society?
    Allof them
    Any additional comments?
    Too many pointless details included
    Mind Blowing
Great story. I would have never guessed the Secret. Completely caught me off guard a must read.
The narrator was wonderful she made the characters come alive

When Shelly Brockman walked into his office, Sheriff Dare Westmoreland could almost taste the sweet, steamy passion they'd once shared. Then Shelly informed him he was the father of her son, the unruly preteen he'd arrested that day, and his fantasies turned to fury!
Shelly had returned to her hometown in Georgia to save her son from the mean streets of Los Angeles. Getting to know his father would be good for her son. But would being so close to Dare - the only man to make her pulse race - reopen a wounded heart that had never healed? Or, would this be her final chance to win Dare's love?

    Dare...Those Westmoreland men!!
I liked it. The Westmoreland men are great. I like them even better than the Madaris family.
    Never Disappointed!!
Mrs. Jackson never disappoints when it comes to fairytale love!! Shes the best!! So curl up with a comfy blanket and enjoy!!
    Nice father son development
The storylines seemed developed around creating a father and son bound and this part of the book I thoroughly enjoyed. I would have liked more work on the re-establishment of the relationship between the mother and father. As usual the narrator was fun to listen to.
    Not a Great Listen
What made the experience of listening to A Little Dare the most enjoyable?
One of my favorite Brenda Jackson stories. Shelly returns to town with Dare's 10yr old son who needs his father now more than every to adjust his bad attitude. Shelly and Dare were young lovers and they find out, their desires didn't end just because they were apart and themselves rekindling the fire that still burns between them.
What did you like best about this story?
It was a very quick read full of chemistry, fatherly love and forgiveness.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Madison Vaughn?
The author did voices, TOTALLY took away from the story. She made the adults sound like country bumpkins and DJ, a cartoon.
    Another good one
Although I listened to books 1,4, and 5 first. I still doing this to be a great book. Not as sensual by heart warming. The narrator is good, but not one of my favorites.

    The narrator was the worst!!
I love all of K'wans books I must say first, and I normally love the narrators but this one I DISLIKED!! She kept stumbling on words and you can here when she was shuffling her papers!! Bring Cary back!!
    Not best narration
The narrator sounds like she was drunk or hella tired especially towards the end of the book. Story was good.. But definitely Hood
Good but the Sequeal is Better!
I actually listened to the sequel Welfare Wifeys first before I realized that there was a book before it. This is a good listen but the narrator just didn't live up to the job that the Welfare Wifeys narrator gave. I still suggest this book because it gives you more insight on the charactors which I enjoyed.
    Nice Surprise!
It took a minute for the writer to introduce all the characters, but once that was out of the way it was a very good listen, I got to where I would sit in my car and continue to listen after I got to my destination, I really enjoyed this one, I had alot of laugh out loud moments!!
This book will have you checkin' for K'wan!
This book gets all credit for starting my love affair with Urban Fiction! Once I began listening, I was instantly intrigued. I had no idea there were books like this! I had fallen out of reading and had only truly gotten back into it due to the writer's strike on TV. One day I decided to take chance a story called Section 8 and was blown away! I love how each chapter tells its own story all the while leaving you with a tidbit of info to keep in mind as the plot thickens. This story seemed to just unexpectedly pull you in each characters own triumph and dilemma and make you want to know more about their story whether it be good or bad. My favorite character was Gucci just because she was so down to earth and loyal. The interaction between her and her girlfriends felt real because K'wan truly made them individuals, flaws and all. Oh and this character Animal was the epitome of what I want in a boyfriend in my head lol. This was a great read/listen and once I was done, I had Welfare Wifey's next on deck! This may be the first book offered by the very talented author on audible.com, but it is merely scratching the surface when it comes to K'wan's catalog. Ya'll need to see about that man!!

Savannah Jackson is 35, single, and weary of men who can't make the transition from boyfriend to husband. Bernadine Harris is suddenly single - her husband has left her for a 24-year-old white woman. Marilyn Stokes is on the rebound, regretting the years she wasted on a dead-end relationship and mourning her recent miscarriage. And Gloria Matthews, a single mother whose 16-year-old son has just discovered sex, has spent most of her adult life driving men away with her none-too-subtle hunger for marriage.
Told from each of these characters' diverse points of view, Waiting to Exhale is about their desire to find good men, exciting men; men who could help them lose the strange feeling that they've been holding their breath for as long as they can remember; men who could make them exhale. But it's also about a different kind of bonding between black women: a rich, supportive, abiding friendship that doesn't necessarily include men.

    Not for me
The plots and the people engaged me. The heavy gossipy tone turned me off. Each wears thick levels of protection, too thick to be accessible for me. Turn it off, I wanted shout as I ducked under the hair drier.

    Any additional comments?
Initially, I was anxious to listen to a book whose movie had so much popularity but i was immediately disappointed once purchased. This version only contains four chapters. I haven't bothered to listen because I know there is more. Audible, PLEASE ADD THE OTHER CHAPTERS OF THIS BOOK!
    Better than the movie
A must read, if you saw the movie but didn't read the book. I loved it.
