    Publisher's Summary:
Jon Brennan comes from a long line of men in uniform; all born and bred to both bleed and wear blue. His family and the majority of his co-workers support him every step of the way, so he doesn't need to hide the fact that he prefers men over women. Between the job and his larger than life, loud and rowdy half Irish, half Italian family, there isn't much time for dating, much less finding a guy who can deal with the stress and demands placed on the shoulders of an NYPD detective.
Kory White is cocky and abrasive with most people, but it is all a facade he hides behind to keep his heart safe. As a child, Kory lost his mother to an act of violence. Soon after, he and his baby sister Kassandra were separated by the system. Kassandra was immediately adopted, but Kory spent the next 10 years cycling through foster homes before moving to the Big Apple. In an effort to keep everyone at a distance, Kory has meticulously built himself an alter ego: Hayden Cox, All Cocks cockiest model.
These two strong-willed men definitely prove opposites do attract. Both are stubborn and hard headed to a fault, Kory more so than Jon. But Jon is used to being in control, the one calling the shots, and Kory fights him at every turn. Just when it seems they have found a way to navigate the unchartered territory that is love, tragedy knocks on Kory's door yet again. Volatile and strong, even in the face of adversity, both men refuse to give up on each other - or their love.

    Not bad
There is nothing really bad to say about this story and keeping in mind that there are only about 4 hours of time to tell it. Its just that i am a fan of the meeting and falling in love part and that part was kind of glossed over. It could have been a really great story if perhaps 6 or 8 hours long going a little deeper. Narrator is good
    Fabulous book with great narration
If you could sum up How to Deal in three words, what would they be?
    Amazing, sexy, fun
What did you like best about this story?
Kory was such a jerk in the first book (Gay for Pay), but we never got much in the way of why except for the fact that Linc found Kory with his boyfriend at the time. Although we don't get much backstory in this book about that incident, I kind of got the impression in this book that Kory felt bad about how it affected Linc.
The beginning events of this book take place simultaneously with book 2 (Fame and Fortune) where we first meet Detective Jon Brennan. There is some immediate spark between Kory and Jon when they first meet, and despite him seeming like a big old tough guy, Jon is just a bit more tougher. He doesn't take no for an answer and worms his way right into Kory's life and heart. Poor Kory has had such a tough childhood, and it was great to see him come to terms with things he hasn't let himself think or talk about.
Jon's family is so awesome! Their banter, support, unconditional love, and crazy Gran were fabulous. I loved reading about them, and I am so glad Tristan gets his HEA in the next book. I'm hoping to see more of this family!
What does Joel Leslie bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
He was able to make each character unique and bring their essence to the story
If you could rename How to Deal, what would you call it?
    I wouldn't.

Dance with your heart, and love will follow.
Kindergarten teacher Spenser Harris has carved a quiet, stable future out of his tumultuous past, but his world turns upside down the night a homeless teen appears on his doorstep - a boy whose story mirrors the one Spenser has worked so hard to overcome. The decision to shelter Duon is easy. What's tricky is juggling the network of caregivers in Duon's life, especially TomAs Jimenez.
TomAs wouldn't have hesitated to take Duon in, but his plate is already full working three jobs to support his family. Though Spenser's carefully constructed walls are clearly designed to keep the world at bay, TomAs pushes past Spenser's defenses, determined to ensure the man is worthy of his charge. As the two of them grow closer, TomAs dares to dream of a life beyond his responsibilities, and Spenser begins to believe he might finally find a home of his own after all.
But Spenser and TomAs's world is forever poised to crash down around their ears. Duon's grandmother isn't sure she wants him to be raised by a gay man and challenges Spenser's custody. TomAs's undocumented parents could be deported at any time, and all the while the state of Minnesota votes on a constitutional amendment against marriage equality and the US Supreme Court debates whether or not Spenser and TomAs get a happily ever after. All they can do is hold tight to their love, hope for a better future...and remind each other to enjoy the dance.

Too Political and not chemistry between characters
I read fiction and romance especially to escape reality for an hour or two. This book, for me was like reading the newspaper. I found it more a book about current political issues and a little romance. Maybe because so much time was spent on the other issues I didn't
    Nice Romance

Charming, fun, sexy take on favorite fairy tales
I loved this book. Joe came up with some cute takes on old classics. First, we had The Naked Prince a gay take on Cinderella. It was charming and sweet. I loved his Fairy Fathers in this one they added the touch of humor.
    Then The Golden Rule
A very funny, sexy take on Goldie Locks Where Gideon finds himself homeless after his parents kick him out and he ends up in the home of three beary men.
Whatever Happened To?, we have a celebrity that has a growing appendage...remind you of another story?
And then, Ice Cold where Gaelen has to save his love Kieren after the evil prince froze Kieran's heart and made him his slave.
All four of these stories are such fun takes on the old classics. Each sex and humorous and lots of fun.
Joel Leslie is such an excellent narrator. He takes this collection of fun stories and breathes magic into them giving them life.
If you like fairy tales, humor, hot sex and just good ole fun, this is for you. I suggest you grab an audio to pick up your spirits on a bad day or to fill in a few hours just for fun.
    Sweet stories
This was a really sweet and fun listen. There are basically four fairytales adapted to gay characters. The first two are classic fairytales, Cinderella and Goldilocks and the last two are pretty original stories, one with traditional characters and I believe the last story is totally original as I didn't recognize the story or characters. It was an interesting concept and very well written; with humor, romance and fun. However, what really made this book so enjoyable for me was the amazing voices Joel Leslie gave to these characters. I don't think I would have liked this fairytale anthology as much without his performance.
Joel Leslie pulls out all the stops!
    Any additional comments?
Are you ready for four short, humorous, sexy tales about Fairyland and all it's occupants?
Unexpected twists abound with each new fairy tale novella based on the classics: Cinderella, The Three Bears, Pinocchio, and The Snow Queen. Funny, sexy and entertaining, Joel Leslie's narration highlights the best about each story.
I love fairy tales, and always love getting a new perspective on old favorites.

    LOVE this series!
Nick J. Russo's sex voice is probably one of the hottest things I've ever heard.
It was nice to find out where their relationship changed.
The basis of the story was a little far fetched but what the heck, that's what fiction is for. The book was well performed and engaging.
I am done with this series!
    Any additional comments?
Done! I listen the first and second in this series and I was not pleased but for some silly reason, I bought and listen the third book. What was I thinking?
As Max and Ethans relationship progresses I can see the emotional attachment forming although I am still not overly fond of the series .... I kind of feel relived that audible has only 3 audio books!! I cant survive all 9 of them!

    This was a beautiful story.
I love best friends falling in love stories. They are so beautiful and this story really touched my heart. Thank you.
    Five Stars
Loved this book. Wrote a review on my IPAD
    Five Stars
    Everything meet expectation.
    *Waiting for You*
Matthew was certainly dealt a blow. He stepped up and did his best for his mom. I was disappointed that his dad's story was never concluded.
The connection he had with Austin didn't dim over time. I really liked the way they met again. Except I don't think a 'real' Austin would have gone back into the audience. Maybe step offstage and stay in the wings...as close as he could to Matthew.
    Wow!
This wonderful and poweful story demonstrates how one event can change lives forever. Matt and Austin's plans to go to medical school together were forever changed by Matt having stay behind to support his family after his father left them penniless. It was only supposed to be for a little while, but it turned into nine years as Austin and Matt lost contact. Each man went on to live very different lives, but they never did forget their first love. A chance encounter leads to Austin and Matt being reunited and given a second chance at a HEA. I really loved this sweet story, and I urge everyone to get it for themselves.
ARC given for an honest review.

    Members Reviews:
Don't start here to appreciate Lear
I agree with many reviewers that Dan was a disappointment in this second book of this series. His self centeredness overwhelmed the story, which itself was too long. Too much time was spent in Dan's head what-ifing. There was a bitterness in Dan that made no sense and his decision at the end didn't ring true for his character, at least for me. The way that he dismisses his real affection towards loved ones was disappointing and felt false. I hope Lear continues this story, however. Dan has some growing up to do. I'm still rooting for him.
    Great Story.
I enjoyed my second adventure with Major Stagg. The hero remains the gruff outsider with a complicated sense of what is right. The author has had the courage to make him a man of principle, albeit without the sense os sexual decency that would render him too conventional. After all, living happily ever after has its limitations.
    Good story, but...
Sorry, Dan is an a**h***!!! Really!!! It's a good story, but definitely not what I expected.
    Guilty pleasure
    Any additional comments?
James Lear books are a guilty pleasure for me. So I new this book was not going to be a compelling book. The book is sixty percent sex and forty percent plot. The plot is good. The narrator did a great job.

Great Sequel To A Great Book
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. I read Promising Heart a while ago and was hoping that it'll go to audio. I wasn't disappointed.
What did you like best about this story?
The love between Mae and Vance and Jessie and Kate. I also was happy to see that Kate's mother finally accepted her and Jessie's love for each other.
What about Lori Princes performance did you like?
She was good, but I had to speed up the pace a bit because her reading was a bit slow.
Who was the most memorable character of Promising Hearts and why?
Mae. She was always my favorite character. I just wish there was more of a back story on her.
    Any additional comments?
A good story with some good narration. I hope that Radcylffe would write more like this. I am tired of the same old same and something fresh and new would be nice.
    She's Done it again
My goodness Radclyffe is a writing treasure! Wrong about the Wild West my goodness AND with a deep story line that is so good -- I want a sequel!! The reader was good as well and I just love the characters and town -- this is another blockbuster from my favorite writer! Keep me coming Radclyffe Even though it was written in 2006 -- Radclyffe is a writing ass! Loved this book! Want more!! Keep up the good work!
    Decided Against
On a whim I listened to Innocent Hearts and really enjoyed it, the narration and quality. Thought I would continue the story to see what happens next with this one Promising Hearts. However, the echo throughout and the added hiss was an unfortunate turn off and the narration didn't draw me in enough to get beyond it. With those elements and it not being the narrator I enjoyed so much for the first book in the series, I decided to return it and gift the credit instead.
    LOVE, LOVE this book.
    Any additional comments?
Excellent Book. I can't say that enough. GREAT story in the history genre. The quality of the audio seems more technical, rather than the narrator. I think Lori Prince does a good job. But the audio itself is a little annoying.
    Entertaining story Bad sound
The story was entertaining until the end. The ending seemed like Radclyffe became sick of writing and ended it quickly.
My issue with the audiobook was the poor sound. It sounded like the narrator was either in a tunnel or speaking in a cone. The echo was irritating

Healing, respect, and empathy are what the H&S Ranch promises when helping troubled juveniles. Madison Clark hasn't had much trouble in allowing teens to help care for her recovering horses, but then in walks Jake, a know-it-all 13 year old with a smart mouth and a strong penchant for trouble. What's worse is the trouble trailing behind him - his uptight, opinionated lawyer aunt, Grace Hollings. Madison does her best to ignore her, but focusing solely on Jake isn't always possible.
Grace Hollings is convinced nothing can help her nephew, especially Madison Clark and her feel-good horse ranch. Unfortunately, Jake's presence there is court ordered so Grace does her best to keep an eye on him, and on Madison, who is way more than she originally gave her credit for. Her calm strength and good looks are powerful and just the tip of the iceberg, leaving Grace green with jealousy. Not just because Jake is thriving and has taken to Madison over her, but because Grace is beginning to be taken by the ranch owner as well. Wholeheartedly so.

UGH! I hated this book. The spoiled rotten teenager, his Aunt running around for him. Did anyone @ Audible put a set of headphones on and listen to this book? The screeching in the beginning is painful. I always expect more when the book is from BSB. Very disappointing.
    Wholehearted
Story was okay. Audio was horrible, will not listen to another book by this person. A lot of white noise in audio.
    worth the credit
good book that keeps you engaged but the quality could be better the narrator is did a good job the quality just sounds like she's in a tunnel. if u can get past that it's def worth a credit
    Love this book
The narration is a bit rough, not because of the narrator, but sound quality isn't the best.
The story is fantastic. It touches on the heart of so many problems with adolescents. The push and pull between the main protagonists is builds nicely to a spicy romantic connection. Well done. More audible stories from Ronica Black, please.

    Beautifully narrated by K.C. Kelly!
    Any additional comments?
Kim Fielding builds an amazing dystopian fantasy world full of deadly things, including the darkness that can eat at Enitans soul if he lets it, and she does it in a quiet unhurried pace that offers redemption, hope, revenge, and love.
Slow and steady. That describes both the pace of the story and Rig, the man who heals Enitan after hes thrown to the Downs.
Wrongly judged for a crime he did not commit, Enitan is brutalized before being hurled into the Downs, a place where criminals and banished are thrown to die. When Enitan survives the fall, he is found by Rig, a gentle, but scarred, giant who helps heal Enitans body.
I loved that Rig has his own scars, both physical and spiritual, but Enitan helps to heal him as well.
Beautifully narrated by K.C. Kelly, I was drawn into the story immediately and never lost focus for a single moment until the end. I loved his choice of character voices, his pacing, and almost soothing tone. This was just an absolute treat to listen to.
I choose you, he whispered in Rigs ear. I will always choose you.
    And of course they kissed.
    Recommended.
A slow and steady yet beautifully sweet romance.
The magical combination of Kim Fieldings lovely prose and K.C. Kellys superb narration never fails to entertain. I listened and followed the text at the same time because I just love Kims writing. This certainly is an outstanding story. Her imagination creates wonderful new worlds with flawed yet beautiful characters.
K.C. Kellys delivery perfectly suits this tale, its steady pace, and the gradual revelation of the fantasy world. He brings the story and characters to life, imparting the right emotions and tone throughout.
I particularly enjoyed this fantasy story and the excellent world building. Its similar but on a smaller scale to Brute. Theres a clear contrast between Enitans luxurious life in the city and the basic and sometimes frighteningly dangerous life in The Downs, with its demons, caustic fog, and venomous creatures. For all its harshness, the people who inhabit the Downs appear to be unselfish and more accepting of others. They live in a world where same sex relations are the norm.
The two main characters come across as believable and real. They are both physically and emotionally imperfect, but together they slowly find love and healing in each other. Its not instant and thats what I love about Kims stories. She gives them time to get to know each other and build a friendship first.
Enitan is the proverbial rich kid who likes to fight and fuck. He is wronged by his sister and judged as unredeemable.

Kate and Jay's lives intertwine, leading them on a journey to love and happiness - until fate and fame threaten to tear them apart. What is the price of fame? For Kate the cost just might be everything. For Jay the price could be the other half of her soul.
    Critic Reviews:
"Ames, much feted for her lesbian mysteries and romances, adds another to her record of successful storytelling. Narrator Emily Beresford provides a fully voiced performance of the two featured women. Kate and Jay first met during a skiing accident when Jay was in college. Now, a few years later, they're meeting again as Kate, a TV journalist, reports live from a state capitol bombing. The crush Jay felt that first time is still much alive, and Kate, happily, is feeling romantic now, too. Beresford effectively differentiates the two principals, as well as the wide range of secondary characters, by varying pitch and tone. Her pacing fits each scene, whether one of tenderness or camera-rolling chaos during news reporting. The first of a series, this audiobook, and its team of Kate and Jay, should find a welcome audience." (AudioFile Magazine)

good at first then got boring
Would you try another book from Lynn Ames and/or Emily Beresford?
I would hoping book 2 is better. I have to think if I would give it a chance.
Would you ever listen to anything by Lynn Ames again?
So far no. Have to think about it.
Which character as performed by Emily Beresford was your favorite?
The dog. Jay cried to much and I thought Kate was stronger then she went weak, so the dog.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
    Disappointment.
    Any additional comments?
    Nothing to say.
    Intriguing and interesting st
For a 2010 copyright there were some head scratching things like using the words "word processors " instead of computer or laptop, and a lack of cell phones and texting, but the presence of answering machines etc. I don't know why but I kept thinking this story must have sat on the shelf for a while.
I enjoyed the story, and a pretty rich background that was provided for each of the characters. There was enough adventure, but trail of every day life in an interesting way, and drama. I do at some point think I will get my fill of the knight in shining armor and rescued princess but perhaps book two will even things up a bit.
I am looking forward to more of these women
