Better than expected

This was an easy audiobook to listen to. The author did a good job with the characters' backgrounds : not too little or too much and revealed a bit at a time. The plot moved along nicely with plenty of action and little of this book follows a formula (refreshing!). I can almost overlook the unbelievable situations and reactions. Almost. But the characters are great so that makes up for a lot.

The narration was great in that I barely noticed I was being read to. Love that. I would definitely listen to more in this series.

This is a beautiful story. I loved all three main characters. I would love them to work together again. If you like transgender books this is the one for you.

Another sexy teacher/student story. We have the new transfer student who tries to stay under the radar. Also, he is trying to keep his sexuality hidden. He thinks he is doing a pretty good job, until gym class. His smokin' hot, sexy gym teacher zeros in on him.

After class, he waits until everyone out is out showers before he goes in. His teacher has approached him...and then his teacher follows him into the steamy showers...and finds him... and they can't wait any longer...

SUPER CUTE ROMANCE WITH A SEXY ENDING!!!

Robby comes home and finds his friend Jimmy teaching music at their old school...they go for drinks and to get caught up...and find out that there is a mutual attraction there...Robby confesses his love for Jimmy and after a few loose ends are tied up...they get their HEA!! Good story and good narration!!

Listenable, but the romance fell short for me.

What would have made Gay: Worth the Wait better?

I get the friends-to-lovers aspect, but Jimmy and Robby hadn't been in touch for 5 years, and in both the past and present, Jimmy was in other relationships so it seemed out of the blue for him to end up with Robby in just a few days back together. It would have been more realistic if they had both been yearning for each other from years ago. For a short story, there were too many relationships/characters that detracted from the main characters' romance.

Has Gay: Worth the Wait turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, it is currently my favorite genre and I love it!

Did Eddie Leonard, Jr. do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Yes, the narration was fine and easy to follow.

I was put off by finding out that throughout high school, Jimmy had been in love with another bandmate and mutual friend of Robby's who died.

Worth the Wait Stars

I loved this short story I want more, this is a story of 2 friends from high school who lost touch but one cant let go, he cant forget what he had.

So Robby finds out that Jimmy actually teaches music at their old high school. It was sweet and heartwarming, and HOT as all of Kathleen Hopes stories are.

Robby had the courage to tell Jimmy of his feeling and it grew from there. I want no wait I need to know more of these two! Who else likes a story like this? Sigh.

Again I am a fan of the narrator, he was perfect for this story.

You get a look into several characters lives and relationships.

The beach party was perfection.

And the spider bite, oh sweet manly Skylar I teared up with his disappointment of not thinking he wasn't manly enough! And Keith, as a boyfriend, he is just beautiful and loving and kind and well, just absolutely perfect. Every boy and girl should be so lucky to have someone love them as much as he loves Skylar. -happy sigh-

This is precisely what I needed for Skylar, Keith, and the entire Skylar Foxe fan club! Oh God, I forgot about Mike and that dang on kiss in the gay bar.LOL. Loved it! And I felt how Sydney felt, it was EXPLOSIVELY HOT!!!

You finally get a look a good look into Skylar and Keith's relationship without murder or miscommunications ruining everything and it was lovely. The best part is finding out a that the author actually wrote a bit of what happened to him in his past in this great tale. *Hugs to him*

The ending was great, and this tale was just so much fun!!! I loved the goofy smile, and sparks of happiness igniting in my heart after listening to this. And of course, Joel Leslie was perfection in his performance. Happy faces and hearts all around.

So far, this is my favorite Skylar Foxe tale to date!

But I am itching for another murder mystery but with no ridiculous miscommunications between Skylar and Keith.

Great Fun

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I am a die-hard mystery fan, and I was a bit skeptical to see Foxe Den and Foxe Den 2 which don't have robberies and corpses. Crimelessness aside, I really enjoyed seeing the characters away from all that and living their normal lives. With the statement that they are not mysteries (like the rest of the series), I would recommend them to friends who have read at least one other Skyler Foxe mystery.

What other book might you compare Foxe Den 2: Summer Vacation to and why?

Probably Foxe Den 1, as it shows the mystery solving gang "off-duty" as it were.

What about Joel Leslies performance did you like?

Leslie does a great job creating a unique voice for all the characters (even minor 1-line characters), so that it isn't hard to know who is speaking even in complicated dialogue sections.

If you could take any character from Foxe Den 2: Summer Vacation out to dinner, who would it be and why?

It would have to be Mike, but mostly because I think he still needs some assurance that his new group of friends are ok, and aren't out for him.

Love Nick J Russo! Sweet story

I wished that thered been a bit more groveling at the end and a bit more convincing done to Nash to give up his entire life to be Spencers boyfriend. It went so easily and fast! I was glad to see that Nash knew himself well enough to realize that the lifestyle suited him and didnt let his ego get in the way, but I wanted Spencer to appreciate Nash more.

I think that Healy needs his own story next so heres hoping!

I just plain love Nick J Russo. I know anytime he narrated Ill like it. I even got a book I knew I wouldnt like (not this one!) because he narrated it and it made it entertaining if not excellent ;) He does a fine job with the British and other accents here and as always makes the story really feel like youre part of its telling.

I highly recommend this as the best way to experience this story.

This is my first book in this series Bluewater bay. Hell on wheel it is abeautiful book love it and the narrator was awesome, highly recommended

My favorite of the series so far!

I've seen mixed reviews on this book, but I really liked it. I liked Nash. He has a big heart and needs to be needed. He's loyal to his family, especially his sister who's in a wheelchair. It should also be mentioned that Nash has an identical twin brother, Healy, who's also gay. I found that interesting. Makes me wonder how common that is. Also makes me wonder if we'll be getting Healy's story at some point.

Spencer is a British actor with an occasional role on Wolf's Landing. Nick Russo did an outstanding job with the British accent. He's definitely one of my favorite narrators and one of the main reasons I have enjoyed this series so much!

Another ZA Maxfield Home Run!

Would you listen to Hell on Wheels again? Why?

YES! Absolutely! I loved the little moments of joy that had me smiling from ear to ear. The characters really pop, even the side characters. Enjoyable! The narrations is great as well!

What other book might you compare Hell on Wheels to and why?

Drawn Together, By ZA Maxfield. The story moves along nicely and the build of the relationship is close to perfect. I got sad when there were only five hours left, I wanted this book to be longer!

Sweet Love Story with a Beautiful Happy Ending....Great Read

This is a sweet, Hot, love story between two hot men who find themselves after going through failed past relationships. Kevin (sweet gay guy who had been in a relationship with a man who didn't know how to treat Kevin right, with constant break ups) and Dane (Kevin's best friend's boyfriend who was sweet, macho, take control, and someone who knew how to treat a man). Kevin and Dane's immediate attraction lead to Dane's breakup with his girlfriend who didn't love him anymore. Jamie brings in his amazing ability in his writing style to give a strong story line and a wonderful development of characters. He brings in emotion, feelings, drama, and HOT sex to an amazing happy ending. This is a MUST READ...Sweet, Loving, Erotic... I loved this short MM Gay Romance.

This story is a quick read. Itâs about 35 pgs. This is a Male/Male story with a hint of female friendship involved. The story has great details and feelings that anyone could connect to.

Overview: Kevin works in as a VIP waiter for an expensive hotel. His best friend is Celcily, who also works as a waitress at the same hotel. While Kevin is working, he notices a hot guy at a table alone. He starts talking to the guy and building a friendship with him, when the guy starts to put the moves on him. His friend Celcily calls for him to come and help her get ready for her date with her boyfriend. When she brings Kevin out to meet the guy, he was shocked that her boyfriend (Dane) was the guy he was visiting with. He is torn between being a friend and telling her that her boyfriend was putting the moves on him and stuck because they both liked the same guy. Celcily and Dane get into a fight. She calls Kevin over to comfort her. Celcily gets drunk and passes out. Dane comes back and then puts the moves on Kevin. Clecily wakes up and catches them. Now everyone is at a loss of what to do?

The opening scene had me confused at first. It wasn't fitting the title at first, but it did. I was expecting a GFY type story(to be honest), it wasn't.

Tommy couldn't afford to get arrested, he probably thought he'd be lucky if he got a warning, what he gets is more than he bargained for.

This is quite accurately marked as a quickie, with little time for back story, character development, or even a real understanding of the cop to emerge, this is a scene in which two strangers have a chance encounter.

I do agree with the review that said some of the positions seemed awkward, but by them I was trying to figure out if these characters exist beyond the moment in time when we see them, or not.

Maybe someone else will like this

I didn't find this story sexy, hot or interesting. The action was fast-paced but the positions didn't really make sense to me. True, I have never had sex on a public park bench at night but still. I was just happy when I finished the story.

Author/hunk Jamie Lake has successfully been writing long enough to have more then fifty best selling novels to his credit. In a very refreshing manner Jamie explains that his novels and novellas have pieces of him in them â not memoirs but shared like situations and experiences and relationships and hardships and exhilarations he has known. As he states, âIâve been there, done at.â Now settled with a solid relationship and is at that point in his life where he can support himself with his writing career! With his looks he could easily step into the cinema realm and succeed there, too.

Even Jamieâs choices for book covers are classy and seductive, but once he starts writing his true talent becomes apparent â not only as a superior erotica craftsman but also as a sculptor of credible characters. For instance, when a writer can grab our attention in the first few paragraphs and keep us with him the way Jamie does in this very brief story, we know he is here to stay: âTommy knew he shouldnât be doing this -- walking in the park this late at night. But he was horny and hiding the fact he was into men from his parents night after night was getting to him.

Heâd heard rumors that this park was one of the best hook-up spots for men who liked other men. But now as the cold night air blew shivers through his light blue jacket, howling between the trees, he was starting to wonder if maybe it wasnât such a good idea.

Danger? In a way. A cop approaches Tommy and in a few brief pages there is a sexually charged engagement that is 100% erotic. Jamie wastes no words: they all are explicit and descriptive, producing some of the steamiest scenes imaginable. And he does it with such class. Grady Harp, May 16

Robert M. Clark's narration is a SLAM DUNK!

Let me start by getting some fangirling out of the way...Robert M. Clark's narration for this is a SLAM DUNK! He brought Rafi and Isaac to life. I was absolutely impressed and can only say the narration was so good for this short story that as soon as it ended I immediately started it over and listened again.

What I love most about this sweet short (now my 7th time re-reading) is how I find something new to appreciate about it every time I read, or now listen to, it.

I love how Rafi is snarky, sarcastic and absolutely not interested in anything Isaac Jones has to say at first. I melt every time with how fully committed and absolutely determined Isaac is to win over the one man he's always wanted.

"I've wanted you since the first moment I realized what it meant to want," he said, reminding me that he'd been harboring feelings for much longer than the couple of weeks since we'd reconnected, or even the six months since he's decided he wanted to pursue me. Love and forgiveness

This is a yummy nugget of a story about love and forgiveness.

What would you do if the boy that bullied you when you were in school turns up twelve years later and wants to date you. Except now he's turned into a sexy hunk of an NBA player and his behaviour is 180 degrees from what it had been. Would you listen to his plea? Would you succumb when his touch makes you burn?

That's the dilemma Rafi has to face in this short story. Like Rafi I was curious as to why Isaac was back in his life, following him around and turning up at his home especially since Rafi remembered him so negatively. I like that Isaac proved himself to have changed and explained his past behaviour reasonably.

Cool story

Love James Talbot voice and how narrate the story . Love the triangle thing with the cop and gangster. , poor Arron . Can't wait for the next one.

ugh cliffhangers. .....untapped potential

The story could have been a decent one. However listening to it on audio was a difficult thing to do. The characters with the exception of one were supposed to be early thirties late twenties and yet the voice that was assigned to each character was that of a senior . The pace of the narration was extremely slow.out unfortunately, it caused me as a listener to lose interest at times then I'm forced to go back and read listen to something that seemed to drone on just to see what I missed. the most interesting part of the book or most exciting part of the book I should say where there was some potential for action was the last 3 minutes 5 minutes of the book

short and quick

I enjoyed this book. It was short, quick and sweet. I really enjoy narrator Hollis Elizabeth. She does a great job.

Might've been rated higher if...

I might've rated this higher if the narrator was better. She spoke way too fast most of the time and just left me wishing this was over sooner.

Uhaul? Well Narrated, Though..

There were plenty of opportunities for something akin to reality. Being a lesbian, I know we, in particular, burn brighter and hotter than others. I get the u-haul in this for that reason. On the other hand, we didn't get the bittersweet. We didn't get the fiery acquisition of the new lawyer. There were opportunities for realism and a touch of reality. Those opportunities were never conquered. Keep writing. There's good in this story. There just could have been more.

Good Story, but...

Story line was intriguing but the performance didn't quite do it for me, it took some of the 'ump' away from the story. So it was good but could have been better.

I'm a fan of Ronica Black and I know her books have better impact than this. Maybe another narrator for future books.
