fun book!

my son loves this book! it's fun and although i'm always afraid it will give him bad ideas, i don't think it has (as far as i know!). i like reading it too. i only wish that some were girl dinosaurs. i change it sometimes because i don't want him to think that only boys exist in books.

Great for some quiet time for a 4 year old. The story is fun and the narrator is great. The read-a-longs are great for helping a child learn to read. Love it!

Great story

My kids at work,love this book. I have to put it on over and over for them. I like it. It teaches the children how to eat properly. The book is humorous to. Thats a plus.

OK - not the best in the series

We purchasedHow Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight?and fell in love with it.

Our dinosaur obsessed daughter loves it and we read it as our bedtime story at least a few times a week.

We then looked into the other books in the series and bought this andHow Do Dinosaurs... Pocket Library.

This book teaches your children about proper table manners. As with the other books in the series, the dinosaurs use inproper table manners most of the way through the book and then of course demonstrate perfect table manners at the end to teach your child.

I do worry about the books teaching your child worse habits before improving them but I think she probably threw a lot of food on the floor before reading this too!

This one doesn't appeal as much asHow Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight?but is still a good fun book for children with dinosaurs and an attempt to teach your children better manners.

Jane Yolen and Mark Teague at their best.

This title and "How Do Dinosaurs say Goodnight" are the best Jane Yolen. OK maybe "How do Dinosaurs Play with Their Friends" also. These have been read so many times the pages are falling out.

Not Pete's Best

My 3-year-old loves Pete the Cat books and is pretty much obsessed with the White Shoes book and Pete's Wheels on the Bus. We also have the Pete Saves Christmas for holiday bedtime. I figured the Easter book would be right along the same lines as the Christmas one. Not so much. The Christmas one rhymes decently and has a little song (though cheesy) that runs through it. It also has the all-important VW bus that hipster Pete drives.

This book doesn't have much of the groovy stuff of the other books and is somewhat blah. I hate to say that I expected more from a children's book about a spazzy-looking cat, but I kind of did. So, does it get the bedtime job done? Sure. Does it do it with rock 'n roll style? Nope.

My daughter is pretty obsessed with all the Pete the Cat books and honestly they're all a perfect addition to our nighttime routine. I saw this one was cheap AND hardcover and got excited. The excitement didn't stop when we received the book considering I had no idea there were Easter cards, a poster, and stickers included.... My daughter was over the moon and we immediately took out the cards and wrote them out for all her friends.

Awesome book

My 6yr old daughter will love it. She will be very happy Easter morning. It is great quality, sturdy, and a hardback. It comes with stickers and Easter cards for kids to decorate.

Very pleasant speaking voices, the classical music is well done and offsets the stories nicely without overwhelming the narrative. The stories have morals well worth listening to in the car or at bedtime. The prose is well-written and has an excellent selection of vocabulary words presented in a very straight-forward and intelligent format. Thumbelina was one of the stories with which I was previously familiar and the others will soon become favorites, as with most of Hans Christian Anderson. Wonderful way to expose children to the written word in an interesting format. The stories do not seem to be altered from the original prose, although I would have to check that to be sure. Enjoyable, but lacks convincing suspense

"Off and Running" is a quick read with pleasant characters and vignettes, but although the central event--the election for student body president--should quicken the pulse, it fails to. Everyone is just too nice. Miata, the very serious girl, is portrayed fairly realistically, as are her modest goals if she should be elected (sprucing up the school, creating a "lake of flowers" around it). Her opponent, Rudy, is a buffoon, but not a nasty one, which is not so realistic. No one gets hurt very much, and there are no hard feelings, which, given the intensity of children's emotions, is a little hard to believe. If only it were so simple! Of particular interest is Miata's desire to connect to older, successful politicians, to learn from them.

No child will have nightmares from having read this book, and it's possible that it might inspire a little desirable imitation. It's not demanding and will help children maintain reading skills during the summer.

She wants to win to make the school a better place but Rudy only wants to do things that are not going to help the school. This is really a great book. I think you should read this book to find out who will win. It is funny.
