First of all the cover of this book is exquisite. The picture of a beautiful bride wearing a lovely pearl necklace captures the true essence of this âDear Daughterâ letter penned by the author to her daughter before her wedding day to her much loved fiancé. These pearls of wisdom are universal therefore, Author Laura Thomas, decides to share her letter with all young women about to begin married life.

Celebrating her own twenty-fifth anniversary to her high school sweetheart, Thomas wants to share her first hand knowledge of the makings of a life-long relationship. There are so many gems of wisdom in this well-written book that it would be impossible to touch base on all of them; however, the theme of Chapter Six boldly jumped out at me. It is simply titled âSorryâ followed by the quote âA happy marriage is the union of two good forgiversâ. This little gem pretty well captures what true love is all about and with all the other words of wisdom touched upon in this short book, it is a very motivational read indeed...

Outstanding book.

Pearls for the bride: dear daughter is a book meant for a bride to be, but I myself found this book very insightful as a woman who has been married for almost 15 years. Throughout this book, there are bible verses which help to emphasis the author's important points about being married. This book is told as a mother writing to her soon to be married daughter. It was meant to be a letter which quickly turned into a book. As you read each chapter of the book, you will find the mother focuses on a different aspect of married life. Some of the key points in the book are: remember to date each other all through your marriage, not just before you are married; be willing to apologize when you make a mistake, and accept apology from your spouse; knowing that you need time to get used to each other in your married life, don't constantly run back to mom & dad house all the time.

This book was a very easy read, that kept you turning the pages. It is filled with knowledge that I wish had been given to me prior to marriage, as I could have made life a lot easier on myself.

Female psychology is not always rational, its ways of understanding

A small, but fascinating book, which answers the question that worries us how to find the girl who has become interested in you. The author gives seemingly simple but understandable signs that the girl you are interested in and at the same time describes the very steps that should be taken to win her attention. In doing so, drawing your attention and analyzing verbal and non-verbal signs, such as hidden peeping at you, as if a careless touch of your hand, an expression of an agitated voice in your presence, as well as a slightly prolonged speech. Also described are ways of flirting when the girl probes if you have the opposite sympathy for her and how you are responsive to her signs of attention. Also, I will note the analysis of her psychological state during meetings and your courtship, when the girl hugs you, thereby demonstrating not only sympathy but also the search for some subconscious male protection, which indicates a lot. I recommend a fascinating book that helps men find themselves, thereby understanding which girl is your second half.

I would highly recommended to read this book everyone.

The How Do I Know if A girl that likes and wants to know you better will often attempt to touch you For instance, as she talks she may touch your hand or get a part of her body such as her shoulder or elbow to contact your body. This is a subtle yet noticeable way of flirting. The girl may be sizing you up, trying to find out how responsive you are to her expression of interest. She may accidentally brush your hands or shoulders with hers and touch your arm if you say something witty or funny. The girl may even softly punch you on the arm or shoulder as she smiles and laughs with you. Such a girl is definitely interested in you.

I am really impressed when i read this book. Alternatively, a girl who likes may attempt to imitate you and mirror your every move. For instance, if you are seated together and you brush your hair or run your fingers through your hair, she may attempt to imitate you. If you hold the back of your neck or slouch on the couch, she may want to imitate you. It is common knowledge that imitation.

Knowing if a girl likes us is a plus point if we want to pursue in courting her.

We always wish there was a sign so we may know if a girl likes us or not. Sometimes it can be challenging to find out if a girl is really interested in you.

What the world needs now, more than ever, is a hopeful love story, and this is it. I read it on a lazy Sunday afternoon, and it was breezy, hopeful, and authentic. What separates this from a typical love story is the unique concept of the Relationship Clock, which I really loved-- a backbone ideaology that teaches one how to gauge emotions in a relationship. While I was learning about their relationship, I found myself gauging experiences of my own....very powerful. Loved it!

Have to admit, not completely done reading it. Only got it yesterday....but wow, just a wonderful story. Especially for an old lady. Loved it

A great father who never had any doubts when it came to his kids. And supporting his wife making sure she could be there full time for his children is amazing. Most men wouldn't. Like you mentioned. When couples split they act as if they were never in love. Destroying each other. Usually involving their children in mind games. My parents did. It was brutal. I have never understood that. It was honourable that you married because she was pregnant. That's was the proper thing to do. But we all know that babies can't bring two people together or connect two people if it they aren't already in love from the start.

As for the business side . You are a head of the rest. I have 2 divorces at 52. And neither husband was responsible when it came to money. And having any since . And there were no kids in either marriage.

I agree about the dating these days. Everyone is so causal. I have never been. I haven't dated for 15 yrs. Tried 4X . And I quit. Like you said most are not so forth coming about the truth. And I don't want any stockers. Thanks. or worse. Had to Laugh at the 50 shades. I heard many stories. But I agree in person is best. I like the eye contact, body language, and great conversation.

Lumbersexuals..here I come..Hilarious Read!

If you are not in stitches by reading How to Date Men, you are probably on some very strong muscle relaxers. As a single lady, I found Phil Torcivia's advice on dating to be refreshing and an entertaining read. It certainly points out a lot about the type of guys you are more likely to run into and where.

Read these fresh anecdotes and snag yourself that hairy man you've always wanted, or that pretty one who spends most of the date looking at his reflection. The book is broken into sections each representing a different type of man. This makes it quite easy to pick the type of guy you are after, skim over to that section and brush up on your approach.

I challenge all single women to pick ten of these types of men and have fun using the method listed in the section. Why? No, ladies. Why not?! I think I will try the methodology behind "How to Date Lumbersexuals."

The only thing I would change about this book is to have a linkable table of contents in the beginning so that the reader can jump to certain sections (comes in handy when you are having a laugh with your friends).

Phil does it again with a book filled with humor involving the truth we all wish to deny.

Another Torcivia Gem

This is a hilarious bit of writing, exactly what is expected from Torcivia. The advice he offers in his usual witty manner ain't so bad either. Definitely worth the read.

interesting but lacked content

was a enjoyable read, and as an autobiography it was good. however it would've been nice if she went deeper into different forms of relationship structures and was maybe a bit less biographical. maybe I should've read up on the book before reading, but I was hoping for something a bit more informative. but regardless, still a good listen.

A beautiful book

Wilby's beautiful narration takes the listener along a fascinating journey along the complex issue of relationships. It's cleverly given me a deeper empathy and understanding that relationships are never as straight forward as they often appear.

I've laughed out loud and been moved to tears.

What a piece of garbage

No wonder her husband divorced her she is oblivious to reality. Apparently she does life coaching... get your money back and run!!!

Just celebrated our 47th - so wish I could have had this knowledge years ago !

I only wish I could have listened to this book when my husband and I started our marriage 47 years ago. There is such rich, deep understanding to draw from in Denise's work. I am confident Denise is a Follower of Jesus Christ and all the freedom and love found in Christ - and I am too !
