A funny look at modern life

Sean Lock puts his slant on everyday problems and observations in a distinctive comedy style.

Genius

Love Sean Locke. This is proper stand up. Hilarious sideways looks at everyday situations. He's like my dad, brother and best male mate rolled into one. Laughter is definitely an aphrodisiac. Give me Sean over a pretty boy anytime.

Great laugh

Funny hour or so listening to some excellent humour delivered in a great Sean Lock way, fantastic, just wish it was longer.

It's a stage performance recording so occasionally you can't see the references but it doesn't spoil the joke.

Thought this show had a few funny moments , however it's very similar to the last show and probably the fact it was so similar made it not so funny.

A Departure from his Panel Show Material

It seems like Sean Lock is best known in the UK for his appearance on a multitude of Panel Shows, including the likes of 8 out of 10 Cats.

I wasn't sure what to expect from his stand-up, and that said, it wasn't exactly what I might have expected...it was more narrative than gag-driven, and seemed to have a few lulls where even the live audience weren't entirely sure what to make of some jokes that were a little close to the bone or obscure. That said, a highlight which should raise a smile for most listeners is his delightfully shameless advocacy of heavy drinking as a 'hobby', and his lengthy description of the morning-after paranoia (complete with associated sound-effect: [gnnnnnnnnngh...!]) of such a pastime, which should resonate with anyone who's ever regretted anything, especially after a heavy night or six.

Worth a listen, despite already provoking some mixed Amazon reviews - it seems like most people, like me, are unsure exactly what to expect and don't know what to make of Lock's stand-up. A great opportunity to decide for yourself!

Quite Funny

Amy Anderson was born in Korea and adopted by a Swedish couple in Minnesota. In her own words "that's why I'm f****d up what's your excuse." Humorous as well as thought provoking her act is a good one. I started off with a couple of the excerpts from this show before purchasing the full version; a great choice for comedy.

Clever

Josh Gondelman...he's a sweetheart of a guy. Hardworking, gifted and a master of absurd self-deprecation. Here is a comic who can tell you about his favorite kind of sex one moment, and the next wax with lamentation on the pitfalls of being a trombone player.Josh is confident, articulate and a solid act onstage. I don't think there's much left to say in the positive column, but then again I have nothing negative to espouse about him either. Plenty of good laughs on an album aptly deserving of its title.

I also like carrot cake!

I have seen this comic perform many times in person. some of the jokes I had heard before, but I still liked hearing them. some work because they are relatable, like staring too long, and pizza man.

others work because of the enthusiasm he has when telling jokes, for lack of a better term. one can hear it in the voice inflection. besides the 2 already mentioned, I liked get in groups of 2, gyro/either, oriental rugs/ice cream, wow-carrot cake, now saying ridiculous, after party/adversary, favorite song/generation gaps, balding, and it's not a cape.

still others I liked were people don't talk like puppets, yes I said retainers, and late night grocery shopping.

I have plenty of comedy CDs, this one I think is longer than most others, nearly an hour. so of course listen to it when one has the time.
