More Office Idiot Reviews is the fifth book in the Idiot Reviews series by Pete Sortwell and the direct followup to The Office Idiot Reviews. Like the other books in the series, the entire plot is told through a collection of product reviews of real items sold on Amazon. The book picks up with Jeff, the office goofball, having grown up a bit from the first book. While still odd, he's managed to expand his diet, music tastes, and hair styling options. However, he's found a new fixation -- he's determined to get to the bottom of the hidden plans of his boss, Mr. Hogsbottom. Hogsbottom has decided to sell the company in order to live the good wife with Jeff's mother, with whom he has had a long-standing secret affair. The rest of the odd cast of employees from the bath plug factory return, but the primary actors are Jeff, Hogsbottom, and Colin -- a little person that Hogsbottom has hired to aid in selling the company.

As with the other books in the series, Sortwell deserves tons of credit for researching and finding these various real-world object and crafting product reviews to plot a story. There are elements of humor in the book as with all of them, but it falls a bit short of the original. Hogsbottom is his normal, ridiculous self; but the growth of Jeff has continued from the last book in which it became obvious late that he was far more aware of his surroundings than everyone assumes. However, there's not enough interaction with the rest of the office cast and the book ends quite abruptly in a less than satisfying manner. Overall, the book is worth the read for those that have read the other entries in the series.

Will sure to be awoken time and again screaming in the middle of the night because of sudden insights from this masterpiece of fundament-al philosophy. Or maybe just from a sudden h'roid attack from that lousy spicy Mexican food.

Its universal application to the entire human spectrum of things to complain about incessantly to other humans who don't give a s**t.

What does Jim D Johnston bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Genius. Profundity. Couldn't stop listening. Wanted more. Not the hemorrhoids, just the voice. Like Richard Burton, Sir Laurence Olivier, and Hannibal Lector all mashed up. With fava beans and a nice chianti.

Dominique Wilkins' THE AUDACITY OF YOU! reminds us of the consequences of our actions

This was just my second book to read by author Dominque Wilkins but one thing I know about her is that she has a way of entertaining the reader and sharing various lessons as well.

In THE AUDACITY OF YOU! we are given a host of situations where the characters are either dealing with their own actions or the actions of others. What is so great about the book is that in each situation we see that there is a backstory that is involved with the characters that many that they are interacting with or unaware of. Because of this things are said and done that have an effect that might not have been expected.

I like the fact that we are able to see men and women dealing with their own baggage and situations while trying to make the best out of what can be a trying situation. I also like the fact that the author is able to use scriptures in her stories that doesn't come off as preachy but as a compliment to the actions of the characters.

All in all this was a book that though not what I was expecting definitely has a message that I believe readers will benefit from. If nothing else it reminds us that all of our actions have consequences, whether we foresee it or not.

Brief Reminders about Life

This book is a collection of short stories, each scenario a relatable story of one person doing something selfish, or simply uncalled for. At the end of most is a scriptural reminder of why such behavior should not occur. I enjoyed the scenarios, and the inclusion of actual Bible verses is a signature trait of this author's that endears me to her. My difficulty with this book was that the stories were disjointed and it caused the feeling of "pamphlet reading" vs the reading of an actual collection. It would have been good to see some transition or connection between the stories. Otherwise, another enjoyable read by a fantastic author.
