Easy read

This was very easy to read - I stayed up late a few nights to finish it. Although the book was a little slow to start, it just pulled me in bit by bit until I really had to know how it was going to end.

Despite the story being a little predictable in places, this was a huge joy to listen to. The narration was first class, I will be finding more books narrated by her. Highly recommended escapism.

Predictable

Regrettably not the best of books, rather predictable right from the start and morose. I have read many authors who write in a similar period and themes, and they have been much more interesting. I had to finish the book, always thinking it might get better, it didn't and the ending fizzled out.

Amazing and heartwarming.

This was a wonderful story, it is the first book I have ever read by this author, however after reading this I will be reading more without a doubt. The story although really sad in parts was really uplifting, although I knew some of what was going to come out during the story from the start it did not take away my enjoyment of the book in anyway. Sunday was a lovely character and very well developed, she had really good spirit no matter what was thrown at her and was very strong willed. There were some very emotional scenes in the book but the one that probably tour at my heart the most was when Lavinia spoke to baby Steven while trying to help him fight for his life. A fantastic author who I would highly recommend. The book was based in the midlands, Charlie Sanderson did a very good job with the accents and as she was quite young sounding and the main character was a young girl I thought she was the write choice of reader for this book. Looking forward to getting more by this author in the future.

Disappointed

The narration was poor , there were far too many unnecessary pauses. I found the dialogue by the Italian characters very difficult to listen to, particularly the males.

Predictable

I am sorry to say I thought this story was totally predictable. It should have been a two hour book.

The narrator tried hard but I felt that she always sounded fed up and even in the happy moments didn't cheer up. The reading was very very flat.

I would not recommend this book.

Simply beautiful story

I absolutely adored this story. So well written. I could imagine myself in Sardinia, sampling the cuisine, sightseeing & visiting secret bays. All of the characters story developed & were expertly intertwined with one another. I feel overjoyed at the ending, but bereft that's the book is over. Wonderful. A romantic & historically well written novel that would appeal to anyone over 25yrs of age & upwards. Thank you. I'm now off to download Rosanna Ley's other novel.

Awful!

If I could give a no star or minus star rating I would. I am not a romantic novel fan but have read Ms Ley's Saffron Trail and other earlier works wherein she told a strong story. This book is the total opposite, a storyline so thin as to be virtually non existent, maudlin and depressive in tone from start to finish. This booked contained no 'joy of life' at all. I'm not sure why I carried on listening as it was so aggravatingly bad! It's sad to say that many authors find a format that works and then do it to death, each tale worsening from the original. This is the case with Little Theatre By The Sea, Ms Ley met her Waterloo and was utterly defeated. This book would have made a better short story as it is at least four times longer than the plot could carry, and its target audience might be early teens. Such a huge let down in comparison to her earlier work.

I usually love Rosanna Leys novels but this just awful- so bad that I gave up at chapter 7. The narrator is the worst I have ever heard - so slow and boring. Don't waste your money downloading this one!

A nice love story

This is a story about 2 people who are on an expedition ship and both running away from former loves. A bit of a stretch as to how these two people meet and fall in love at first sight. Kit and Jenny only meet a few times and say few words to each other at each meeting. Perhaps that is all it takes for those who are lucky enough. The story was nice and I did like the characters on the ship. There are mainly 5 characters to keep track of which was nice. I did enjoy the book and it was well written.

A delightful romance in an unusual setting

Jenny, a marine biologist, signs up to work on a cruise ship to get away from a failed romance. But instead of getting a luxurious sunny escape she ends up on an Antarctic expedition with cold weather and its share of danger. From the beginning sheâs intrigued by the handsome Kit Walker who is rarely seen around the ship and is obviously hiding a dark secret. Several other characters add depth to the story including a crime writer and a young woman defying her familyâs expectations to be with the man she loves. I loved this story and only wished it was longer!

A romantic discovery of love and happiness

Jenny is a young woman who is running away from heartbreak looking for adventure to help her forget. Kit is a man with immense sadness trying to find his inspiration again. Together the two embark on a journey aboard a small cruise ship with interesting characters from all walks of life. The author did a really good job of telling their story and showing them how love can help heal what's causing the darkness we sometimes feel in life. Highly recommend.

This was a very good book. Romance was sweet- nothing steamy. The story moved quickly and kept me engaged the entire read. I loved some of the secondary characters and would love to see more of them in future stories. I will definitely look for more works by this author.

Very unique, quirky, and beautiful

Burning Moon has so much to offer. Not only are the characters charismatic in their own quirky ways, but through their journey readers get such an insight about love, about being yourself, finding yourself, loving yourself, and taking those leaps of faith that promise something great in the future. The writer has such a way with words. Every scene displays an emotion for what's going on. The only thing that bothered me a bit (and this is just my personal thing) is the excess use of curse words and the intimate scene.

But aside from that, I really enjoyed the story. I was glad to read Lilly's adventure and felt oddly connected to her through her sad situation of being left at the altar (I had been engaged but then he changed his mind).

This story has given me yet more hope that through my own sad situation, the fact it needed to happen in order for me to meet my one <3

Fun, sun and lots of romance.

Burning Moon is an adventurous romance full of funny twists and turns. I found myself laughing out loud and cringing at some of the situations the characters found themselves in. It is set in Thailand and the descriptions are just gorgeous and I felt like I was there. Lilly is the best kind of heroine and Damien in my new book boyfriend. Loved this book and will recommend it to everyone. Fun! Fun! Fun!

I see this as a chick-lit book with a rather contrived plot. That aside, I knew I'd listen to it until the end and the characters were quite endearing.

Too little and too oddly voiced

I read " The Paris Wife" and have always wondered why a woman would stay with Hemingway. His first wife was a decent woman and it was not enough to keep him from cheating on her with the second wife who was surprised he meant to leave her for the third wife and so on. These were bright women who put up with his verbal and physical abuse. He was a loving if absent father and used people his whole life, for money, attention, belonging. The book was recommended to me but has a peculiar way introducing these women. Their stories come down to vignettes of life with Earnest and with each other. I think I expected a more biographical piece of fiction, because these women were real people and using real lives means you owe them a little more than we received here. The writer did put some connections between the four different women who were called Mrs. Hemingway that I had never read before.

Fiction that reads as reality

I started this book immediately after finishing "The Paris Wife" because I was interested in learning more about Hemingway's later wives. It's a fascinating story about the writer and the women in his lives. It also gives credence to the theory that Hemingway suffered from post-traumatic encephalopathy resulting from his many head injuries. Each of the women emerges as an interesting character in her own right. Definitely a good read!

Portrait of Four Marriages and the Man

Awesome book! Naomi Wood paints an exciting portrait of each of Hemingway's four wives. The text weaves in and out of the past and the present sharing the life of a current Mrs Hemmingway while introducing you to the next wife and telling the story of how she bounded into the couple's life and marriage. Concurrently Wood's is also painting the picture of the multifaceted, tragic Mr. Hemingway. Well written insight of the man himself and his intertwined marriages.

Fabulous novel about the four Mrs. Hemingways

I loved this book! Written in four segments, each dealing primarily with one of Ernest Hemingway's wives, the book imagines the loves and longings and jealousies of the four women who allowed him to be the free-wheeling, macho, serial lothario who wrote fine prose but couldn't be faithful to anyone for very long. Hadley, "Fife," and Mary, wives one, two and four, were, incredibly, friends who consulted about Ernest's health and well-being. Wife number three, Martha, was the only one who saw through him but even she could not resist him at first. This telling of the Hemingway wives' sojourns with the great American writer is rich in detail of time and place; and it resonates with emotion.

INCREDIBLE quick read...

Dazzling, the first book in a new trilogy by Elizabeth Hayley, is an INCREDIBLE quick read! I usually don't like quick reads because I feel many of them lack character development and the storyline seems rushed. This is NOT the case for Dazzling. This book had me invested in these well-developed characters and hooked on the storyline from the beginning. The storyline unfolded at a fast, yet natural pace. Siobhan is a hard-working, aspiring artist working at a high-end bar called The Stone Room until she can find success with her art. She is fiercely independent and wants to make her own way in the world. Derick,a billionaire who got rich through developing an app, can use his money to help those he cares about whether they want it or not. Siobhan meets Derick at The Stone room and their connection is immediate. Although they have an undeniable instant connection, they are also two very different people. I really liked seeing where these two came from and can't wait to see where they are headed. The count down to book two is on. Can't wait to see what happens next!!

A TRUE GEM!

Dazzling is a gem of a book, perfectly named and not to be missed.

The writing team of Elizabeth Hayley does a tremendous job of both showing and telling the reader the story of Siobhan and Derick. They have a way of blending an active narrative summary along with a fast-paced interior monologue and witty character dialogue. This brings the reader into the lives of the fun and likeable characters that every reader can relate to. Readers will have no choice but to get involved and invested in the love story right from the start. Elizabeth Hayley is a master at seamlessly showing the interaction between their couples with a lot of dialogue, action, and yesâSEX! Dazzlingâs sex scenes are mature and tasteful, showing the action and dialogue between the two characters involved. Readers will see each action; feel the sensations with the characters as they occur. There is never a dull moment in this fun, light, steamy, quick read!!

Dazzlingâs plot moves forward at a quick pace and holds the reader's interest from the very beginning. The reader will sit down to enjoy this story and before they know it, two hours will have gone by and the book will have come to an end. And they will want more! Luckily for the reader, Elizabeth Hayley will release the next installment quickly (Radiant (Book 2 in this series) to be released on December 6, 2016.)

This is a novel that is technically sound (i.e., sentence structure, flow of verbiage) and clearly written by seasoned authors who also enjoy what they write. Dazzling will keep readers turning the pages of this book (or swiping their finger on their device) well into the night. Once you get a glimpse, you will most definitely lose some sleep.

Overall, as a reader as well as an author, I was impressed once again with this writing duoâs voice and the flavor of this story.
