Members Reviews:
Enjoyable short stories for anyone looking for competitive business advantages.
This is a wonderful short book on business that is an easy and fun read. Through the use of a number of short stories, the authors help you not only comprehend the advantages of focusing on the customer but specific objectives to create a business that turns customers into advocates. The stories are camouflaged "lessons" that help you realize some areas of focus. You would think that these lessons would be obvious and implemented by every business but as most of us know by living in the real world, most businesses are so busy focusing on the bottom line, that they ignore their ideal customers to the detriment of their own bottom line.
It's a rare business book that could entertain, make you laugh, make you relate through your own life experiences and help you improve your business while discussing topics such as;
1. Quality versus quantity.
2. Scarcity.
3. Constant exceptional customer service.
4. What do customers really expect during times of turbulence, uncertainty, or when problems arise?
5. How processes trickle down to consistency, trust and loyalty.
6. Turning customers into raving advocates.
7. Do cheap prices really lead to the most satisfying experiences in life?
8. How all of the little things relate to the bigger things in businesses. Procedures lead to quality.
9. Technology can greatly aid in connecting TO people. Connecting TO people is not the same as connecting WITH people.
This is a great book for when you feel like reading, but you don't feel like reading anything heavy, technical, or complicated. That's not to underestimate the value of the lessons. If you have ever had a great experience with a company, product, service or professional, chances are they are using some or all of the lessons described in this book. In a business world that is slowly turning into a mash of mundane, and a race for the cheapest price, there is no doubt that there are plenty of ways to stand out against the competition with a little intent and focus.
Great read... great advice!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. As a business owner I found the stories to be very insightful and I have begun putting some of the authors business advice into play by connecting on a more personal level with my clients; which is not only creating greater profits, but also more enjoyment for me on various levels of my work. I highly recommend relaxing into the stories of this book... there are great insights to be discovered here.
Only for those who want to grow their business
Terry and David have put together a must-read book of short stories that will resonate with any business owner. Each story highlights a simple, but important truth to successful marketing. The stories are fun to read and before I knew it, I was completely engrossed in the book and couldn't put it down.
