Not a satisfactory reading of the Word, for the narrator tries to embellish the reading by acting the parts when reading the words of an actual person. My advice would be to read the plainly without trying to be cute!

    Love the narrator
The narrator has not only a pleasant voice to listen to he changes intonation, accents, and level to differentiate between characters. The pace is easy to understand, not to slow or to fast. A very nice way to spend time in the bible.
    Excellent, Best I have found!
This is a great source for being fed and growing in the Word. Especially if you are traveling or out somewhere. I have it on my phone, Kindle, PC, and Tablet!
    Excellent
I recommend this inspirational reading to everyone. It's comforting and exciting at the same time.
Narrator does an excellent job on the voices
I love the book of Daniel, and this was an example of George W. Sarris' ability to convincingly narrate different voices. I particularly loved his interpretation of the king's voice.
This is a great King James Version of the book of Daniel from the Bible for anyone who wants to hear Daniel read to them. I highly recommend any of George W. Sarris' biblical performances. You won't be disappointed.
George Sarris brings it to life
If you could sum up The Holy Bible - KJV: Daniel in three words, what would they be?
    Inspired, Living, Word
Who was your favorite character and why?
Daniel because he stood for what is right. He kept the faith. He just kept following the word of God during adversity.
Have you listened to any of George W. Sarriss other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes! I have listened to several of his other books from the Bible. He puts so much into the reading of God's Word.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The part that moved me the most is when Daniel, knowing that Nebucanezzers men were outside watching opens the window and kneels down to pray three times a day. He knew that they were there and what the decree was.
    Any additional comments?
Definately a wonderful book and definately a wonderful reading of the word

    Four Stars
A good book on translations, if you want a quick study.
    Translation Review
I was interested in how translations came about as well as a review of the more popular translations. This book filled the bill perfectly. It has a wonderful explanation of the difficult task translators face when pouring over ancient manuscripts and then trying to convert the inspired word into English. It is thorough but not excessively detailed.
The review of each translation was very helpful and well balanced in its approach.
I would highly recommend this book.
How to Choose a Translation for All Its Worth: A Guide to Understanding and Using Bible Versions
Just what the title says, a guide to understanding and using Bible versions. I found it really helpful and informative about how and why translations are different and it helped me in choosing which versions to buy. Just a hint - all translations fall into one of three different categories which I didn't know before. Not a light read, but interesting, detailed and informative.
    Bible Translations
This book has a broad overview of Biblical translations since the 1600's. It is clearly written, in language of laymen. Perhaps the most valuable information is the de-bunking of many myths of translations, and insight into the practice of creating God's word in English.
Great for any serious Bible reader!!
This book handles the content very well and gives a great overview of Bible translation technique, challenges and approach to different versions. It is especially useful to Bible readers who are not in formal Bible scholarship courses. Very informative.

    Members Reviews:
Are the producers the most important part?
The Audio book is ok. Not great but ok. However, it is really annoying that before every paragraph the producers are listed for 30 seconds and then again for about 40 seconds at the end. So there are about 100 paragraphs and more than 1.5 hours is just listing the producers again and again. Even when fast forwarding it's starts to go on your nerves after some time.
    What Were They Thinking?
What disappointed you about The Jewish Audio Bible?
As an Orthodox Jew, I expected better. Cheesy elevator music between each chapter along with a narrator that often uses an immature "angry" voice for the voice of G-d completely ruined it for me. Why can't he just read the Torah in a mono-tone voice? That's all I wanted. No music needed. No acting needed.
    Caution; contains editorial remarks
This a really good reading...however, I have to give it 3 stars with a caution, Please do not think this is only the Jewish bible. It also contains commentary that is not generally agreed upon but is this author's and a minority's interpretation.
Unfortunately, this is not clearly stated. I feel it misleads the reader/listener.
This is compounded by the fact that some editorial thoughts are included in the beginning of each section (which I found useful and thought provoking) and commentary is mixed in with the translation so the average listener does not know what is the transliteration and what is the authors added comments. I only know because I listen to this side by side with the generally accepted translation done by JPS and I read the Jewish Bible.
This narration is very good and the work is good. They should have done a better job letting the reader know what is their opinion and what is the direct translation. It is bad enough in some places when they add who sentences to what people say that was actually not said.
    The simpleton English diminished it.
What did you like best about The Jewish Audio Bible? What did you like least?
    Dan Leonard's voice is nice.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
This translation uses very colloquial, common English I guess the reason for that was to make it more understandable to someone with a second grade vocabulary or has some sort of cognition defect. So it seems a little comical that G-d would say thinks like "get going!" I guess I am used to the torah being translated with archaic words like "Thou, art, hast. etc." This translation does abolish that sort of thing. The very basic vocab made the text tedious and repetitive.

I love the King James, and the New King James even more - which is why I selected this series. But the best part of all has to be the narrator. He does an absolutely superb job!

Well read, shame about the chapter divisions
The reading for this edition is clear and easy to listen to. Unfortunately the chapter divisions in the file don't line up with the actual chapters which is frustrating when trying to find a particular passage.
good for going to sleep to.
This is an excellent rendition of Psalms for putting on as you go to sleep. it is delivered in a peaceful way. I use Audible app to play it at 95 speed, which helps retention. as a bachelor I play this almost every night for a continual dose of scripture.
