A Happy New Find

Due to an unrequited love, Drew is now a soul broker for an evil demoness in the bowels of hell. It is his duty to gain souls by offering to give them the love of the person they long for. When not on the mortal plane, Drew is chained with his other brokers and subjected to the most horrible of tortures.

Mackenzie is hustling down the street with her arms loaded with groceries when she is literally knocked off her feet by a gorgeous stranger. Feeling an instant connection, Mackenzie agrees to have coffee with the man. Acting completely out of character, she has a wonderful night filled with passion with a man she just met. Is it surprising that his has disappeared without a trace the next morning?

I bought this book with no expectations, but thought the blurb presented an interesting situation. I am extremely happy to report that it was money well spent. I instantly fell for Drew (he was a tall blonde, my weakness). He hated his situation but had given up hope of ever gaining his freedom. Of course this pulled at my heart strings since his predicament was the result of love. *sigh* Mackenzie was a suitable heroine. She was strong, with hidden secrets that lead to her being a major reason people should give this book a read. There are a couple of big surprises and some really promising secondary characters. There is also just enough steamy sex to qualify Soul Broker as an erotic romance. It would not have hurt my feelings for this to have been a full length novel and hopefully this will be the beginning of a series. Tina Pollick has elevated herself to an author that I will keep an eye on. Job well done,Tina, job well done.

Loved it - I want more!!

Drew gave up his soul for the love of a woman and sentenced himself to a life in Hell. Mackenzie is your normal every-day human woman. On her way home with a bag full of groceries they collide and instantly both feel an attraction. They spend one night together and it changes their lives forever. What a ride this book was! I was instantly sucked in wanting more. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book!

Three Stars

OK

No real story line that was believable

I am so annoyed that I paid $2.99 for this poorly written short story. I bought it based on the two 5 star reviews and it was so bad. It had potential, but it was so ridiculously unbelievable. I love fantasy stories, and yes, they are not real and therefore unbelievable, but at least you are taken into another world that you want to believe in. This one made no sense with any of the 4 characters.

Excellent Book!!!

This book was a delight. I found it had a delicate balance of romance & mystery that kept me turning the pages. Seasoned with just the right amount of paranormal, that never overpowers the story, but complements it. Furthermore, it's elements of the paranormal never feels outlandish, but more...almost natural. With the story taking place in my beloved New Orleans, I can tell the writer is very familiar with the city. Finally, I would add, without spoiling the story that it doesn't follow over used traditional protagonist/antagonist lines. Which is very refreshing to give a conclusion that is a little unexpected.

Treading Through the Somnolent and Mysterious South

A fascinating excursion into the paranormal, Klebert's book begins with the langorous pace of a New Orleans summer and excalates to dizzying heights. A really good read.

Karen Mabry Rice

Another great book

This is the third book that I have read by Evelyn, she has a a marvelous way of keeping you reading chapter to chapter. she puts you right with the main character as if you are there.

This one would be a great made for SYFY movie

Members Reviews:

This book isn't what it seems

When I first purchased this book I thought I was getting a unique vampire love story, not the typical girl falls in love with the vampire and gets turned. The characters and the other worldly realm concepts are very cool, but the author doesn't go into very much detail when it comes to the story behind the main characters or the realms where they are from. It seems like she was more interested in writing explicit sex scenes rather than a good story which is very disappointing. Note to author: If you really enjoy writing paranormal novels, I would seriously consider rewriting this series. You leave out half of the main characters that are intricate part of the story. Then when you reach a critical part in the plot, it seems like you only thought about it for five seconds and quit writing. In regards to the ratings, I gave it a one star only because there wasn't a zero.

Another amazing story

I love it when Belladonna Bordeaux pulls us into her fantasy land. Okay--I'm a fan.

The Sire Bond is a prequel. Found that out by looking at her facebook page. I have to say, I always did wonder about the teaser she put into Primal Appetite about the maid who was saved. I knew she wouldn't let me down--and she didn't.

The story has these amazing characters who jump off the page and make you go ah--can I get me a little vampire action?

She's got this way of twisting the new rules (read that as True Blood and The Vampire Diaries) and making them fresh. She's obviously got her grip on this world but if heat is not your deal then she's not your thing.

I would suggest that you read her other stories in the series to get the basis of this one. Still, I think an informed and imaginative reader can build this out without the others.

She's on my auto buy list!
