Peter witnessed Jesus’ glory on a mountain. When we lose sight of who Jesus us, he reminds us that there is no match for him, the Son of God and our Savior.

We find ourselves bitter about missed opportunities. We hold grudges. Our anger can rob us of joy. Only through Jesus can we let go of anger and forgive others because we have been forgiven.

When the world seems out of control, God reminds us that he is with us. What we see and feel are not greater than what God promises.

Fear is everywhere. We find it easy to fear the future, fear the present and even fear the past. Fear is a big joy stealer. God’s perfect love drives out fear.

Since God is for us, nothing can stand against us. Nothing can undo what Jesus’ love has already accomplished--the saving of our souls.

Comparisons with others can lead to stolen joy. When we long to be like others or wish we were more like someone else, we become dissatisfied with our own lives. Jesus gives us our worth.

Life’s storms can pop up unexpectedly. Because we have Jesus with us, our storms need not capsize our faith. Our Savior brings us calm.

God loves us unconditionally. Because he does, we strive to love others in the same way.

Crosses aren’t easy to bear. Jesus’ cross earned us new life. We willingly serve others because Jesus loved us first.

Jesus became sin for us and gave us his holiness. We have been made new and serve as Christ’s ambassadors.
