Almost 700 years before it happened, the Lord prophesied that the Savior would be born of a virgin—a special birth so that Jesus could redeem us.

Could anyone have been more unprepared than Joseph for the way God was bringing the Savior into the world? But in the manger was Jesus, the Savior of all people.

Everlasting joy will crown our heads because when Jesus comes he will display the glory of the Lord and sorrow will be replaced by gladness.

All the trappings of Christmas add an excitement to the season. They can also distract from the real importance of the season. We seek to prepare our hearts for our Savior’s birth.

Jesus, the Root of Jesse, will come again to usher in an eternity of peace. God’s people from all nations will rally to his banner.

We have reasons to be thankful; among them is the fact that Jesus is near. Through him we present our requests to God and have peace.

Our God is a God of the living. Because Jesus rose from the dead, we share in his victory. To God all are alive!

Jesus is coming back. Although we don’t know when, we are prepared for his return through faith. When he comes, we will be with him forever.

When we are hearing the voice of God through his word, we will be encouraged in our prayer life as well. We will work together to practice braiding a wreath of four strands.
