Title: Stories About Affairs And Infidelity Author: Hugo Crackanthorpe, Gertrude Barrows Bennett Writing As Francis Stevens, Ada Radford, Ellen Glasgow, O Henry, Honore de Balzac, Anton Chekhov, Marjorie Bowen, Israel Zangwill, Edith Nesbit, Bret Harte, Sherwood Anderson, Thomas Hardy, Kenneth Grahame, H.G Narrator: Kelly Burke, David Shaw-Parker, Janet Maw Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 12 hours 26 minutes Release date: January 1, 2024 Genres: Mystery Publisher's Summary: Being together is not always the love-strewn path of true happiness rolling off into the sunset. It involves all sorts of other issues that come up to investigate that relationship with questions, pain and trouble. Perhaps infidelity is the most corrosive. The wronged partner seeks justice and answers as well as feeling betrayed and hurt. The other almost certainly knows their behaviour is wrong but seeks to justify it with barely literate utterances. The relationship may not survive, trust and respect will be damaged even broken. Our classic authors including Marjorie Bowen, Gustav Meyrink, Kenneth Grahame, Thomas Hardy and many others bring all facets of this genre into needle-sharp focus. 1 - Stories About Affairs and Infidelity - An Introduction 2 - The Legacy by Virginia Woolf 3 - An Imaginative Woman by Thomas Hardy 4 - Souls Belated by Edith Wharton 5 - The Kiss by Kate Chopin 6 - The Lady with the Dog by Anton Chekhov 7 - The Caballero's Way by O Henry 8 - La Grande Breteche by Honore de Balzac 9 - The Phantom Rickshaw by Rudyard Kipling 10 - The Cone by H G Wells 11 - The Strength of God by Sherwood Anderson 12 - The Converts by Israel Zangwill 13 - The Difference by Ellen Glasgow 14 - The Inquity of Oblivion by Kenneth Grahame 15 - The Man in the Bottle by Gustav Meyrink 16 - Brown of Calaveras by Bret Harte 17 - Lucy Wren by Ada Radford 18 - Behind the Curtain by Gertrude Barrows Bennett writing as Francis Stevens 19 - Modern Melodrama by Hugo Crackanthorpe 20 - The Other Woman by Sherwood Anderson 21 - The Pleasant Husband by Marjorie Bowen 22 - The Moonlit Road by Ambrose Bierce 23 - The Storm by Kate Chopin 24 - From The Dead by Edith Nesbit

  • The Daughter of Lilith by Anatole France
Please visit https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/1/audiobook/772393 to listen full audiobooks. Title: The Daughter of Lilith Author: Anatole France Narrator: Elliot Fitzpatrick, Ghizela Rowe Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 0 hours 35 minutes Release date: January 1, 2024 Genres: Mystery Publisher's Summary: François-Anatole Thibault was born on the 16th April 1844 in Paris, France, the son of a bookseller and bibliophile. He studied at the Collège Stanislas, a private Catholic school, and after graduating joined his father in the bookstore, which specialised in works on the French Revolution. Several years later he secured a position as cataloguer at Bacheline-Deflorenne and at Lemerre before being appointed librarian for the French Senate in 1876. His literary career had begun as a journalist and as a poet before publishing his novel 'Le Crime de Sylvestre Bonnard' in 1881. Praised for its elegant prose, it won him a prestigious prize from the Académie Française, which later elected him to its storied ranks. His works were profound and thoughtful and often couched in surreal and outlandish expressions; whether penguins baptized by a near-blind Abbott transformed themselves into humans or of a guardian angel who becomes an atheist, his stories turned established thought into startling literature. His short stories run in the same vein. The premise may seem plausible but his distinctive style turns them into an individual viewpoint which invokes both discussion and admiration. In his private life his relationships with women were often turbulent. A Socialist, he was a fervent supporter of the Russian Revolution and the early years of the French Communist party. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1921 but the following year his entire canon of works was placed on the prohibited list of the Catholic Church, which he thought of as a credit to his name. Anatole France died on the 12th October 1924 in Tours. He was 80.
