One of the most beautifully illustrated books I've ever seen

Sounds of the Savanna is one of the most beautifully illustrated books I've ever seen from Arbordale. The pictures are VIVID and the detail is amazing. I think my favorite pictures are the Vervet Monkey carrying her baby and the Lion. Both of these pictures are at the beginning of the book and immediately pulled Maddie who is 4 in when I pulled out the book for storytime.

This story is written for older kids or ones who have a good attention span. It's very wordy so your kids will need to be able to focus and comprehend the action in the book and the knowledge they will learn. Loud & boisterous or quiet and squeaky kids will learn about Sound in the Wild: Sound Waves and the noises animals make High Squeaks and Low Rumbles. They will also learn about animal reactions to danger, about being predators and prey and how animals communicate with each other. There is a LOT of information in this book and kids will learn something new every time you read it to them.

At the end of this book you will find 4 pages of activities to expand on what your kids are learning. They will be learning about Sound Waves: Amplitude, Frequency, Volume and Pitch and conduct 3 experiments on Sound using supplies you can find around the house. For your older kids you are provided with a sorting worksheet on Predator or Prey. Online you can find another 30 pages of activities, worksheets and more.

Nocturna's job is to ensure that the moon and stars come out each night. She has a pretty, star ended wand that she uses to turn daytime into night. One evening though a problem arose and nighttime would not come. It was being stubborn! The other fairies were tired and wanted to go to sleep but it was too light. Who was causing the problem? Mr. Moon! He wanted a night off! Can Nocturna persuade him to come out?

This is a well-written and illustrated short story for independent readers or as a read aloud to younger children. Plenty of colorful pictures accompany the text. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We love Fairy Tales!

I love books that you can read with children! It is so much fun to watch their face as you are looking at the pictures and reading to them. Reading to a child at bedtime is one of my most favorite snuggle times!

I would highly recommend this book to any friends or family looking to buy it. So I would for sure recommend to anyone in the general public to buy this book.

Wow!! Nocturnal takes charge over the night and Mr. Moon!

I enjoyed this story of how Nocturna took charge and had told Mr. Moon that being lazy and not doing his job just would not suffice his please of taking a night off. Beautiful pictures and a very clean reads ebook for young kids. A great bedtime story. I recommend this ebook for young,young children who love to read about fairies and fantasy stories. And it's a very short story. For all of these reasons this is why I have decided to give this ebook five stars. I received this ebook for free and in exchange for being able to read it I have given it an honest review!

Jeg kan lige s godt indrmme med det samme, at jeg er helt vild med Olli. Jeg kom flere gange til at grine hjt over hans opfrsel og udbrud. Historien er meget enkel og ligetil, men indeholder stadig masser af spnding og humor. Bogen vil vre perfekt til hjtlsning, og jeg ville nyde at vre hjtlseren.
