Danny is a little boy who doesn't like to clean his room. He'd rather be playing than dusting, but when he finds a tribe of friendly, fuzzy dustbunnies has moved in uninvited, he has to figure out what to do with them.
Uncle Burrowmore, Cousin Pawsworth, and the rest of the dustbunnies are a chatty, friendly lot, but Danny certainly doesn't want them to stay. When Danny discovers they're only there because he doesn't clean, he knows there's only one thing he can do. Danny has to clean his room!

UNIVERSAL AND TIMELESS PROBLEM...GREAT SOLUTION. What a charming little work this is.
Hmmm, we have here a story about a little boy who does not like to clean his room or pickup after himself. What an odd little boy this is; how out of character, how unrealistic. The entire world knows the enthusiasm little kids show when asked to clean their rooms....indeed, it only takes a whispered mention or hint of the fact that their rooms are a bit messy to set them into action...truly cleaning frenzies! The author of this work must have never been around children, huh!
HA! The battle to get little boys, and let's admit it, little girls to clean their rooms has been going on since the beginning. There is no doubt in my mind that the parents during the time of Cro-Magnon were fighting the same battle in their caves. I note that the author is an amateur Egyptologist. I have seen pictures of the tomb of the Boy King...Tutankhamun when they opened it. The tomb was filled with clutter and dust. I suspect that this clutter and dust was not due to antiquity and the ravages of times, but rather was perfectly preserved just as Tut left it...cluttered and dusty! Tut's parents fought the good fight...they lost!
No, the author obviously knows kids and has written and produced a very charming little book addressing the "problem."
Despite the pleading and gentle promptings from his family, Danny simply leaves cloths, paper, toys, and "stuff" scatter here and there. Danny dose not pick up after himself! Danny's room is a mess!
Ah, but enters wise grandpa who points out the fact that Danny's room is the perfect home for Dust Bunnies and that these little critters are quite likely living in and sharing Danny's room.
That night, after the lights are down low and all are asleep, Danny hears scratching, scratching slithering and rustling in his room. He looks over the edge of his bed and sure enough....the dust bunnies have arrived!
Now this is not a scary story by any means. It is rather cute and mellow. The Dust Bunnies are not monstrous creatures, but rather sort of charming little non-threatening little puffs that sort of look like Tribbles (Star Trek) so there is not need to worry about a young child being scared when reading this book with them. No, Danny simply does not like sharing his room with fuzzy little things and the next morning he changes his ways!
The text of this work is easy to read and flows well. The author has done a certain amount of repetition which is great for the beginning reader. While new words are introduced throughout, they are used in a context which makes them easy for the child to figure out. I like the fact that the font used is large and dark and that the lines of the text have been double spaced.
