Tough start but great story

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes and no. I enjoyed the storyline, the narration was ok, but there were some glitches and some repetition in some spots that need to be corrected before I recommend

Who was your favorite character and why?

Nick. I loved his steadfast presence and mindset.

Have you listened to any of Holly Elises other performances before? How does this one compare?

No. I think holly did fantastic for the female roles, but her male voice was monotone and slow. Rather than a male voice attempt, or tone change, she changed the cadence and rhythm of her speech and it threw things off some.

Do you think Between the Tackles needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I really enjoyed the characters but a second book wasn't necessary however it could be done.

This was a sweet story, and if you manage to stay tuned past the glitches in chat 2, the skip of their meeting, and the monotone moments than it pays off from a story standpoint. I would probably read this story however before buying the audiobook for this one. I received this audiobook from audiobook boom for free for my unbiased review.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.This book was the first book by Roxy Sinclaire I have ever read. This book can be read as a standalone. This book was more YA for me than I am use to reading. With that being said it was a sweet romance.

Needs some work

There was a lot of good in this book. The plot and the characters were on point. I can see how if this was reworked to be more in depth and not so on the surface, I would thoroughly enjoy.

There were more than a couple editing errors that pulled me out of story and kept me listening just to see if there were more.

Holly Elise was a great narrator for female characters but her male voice wasn't was I hoping for with the male lead being a very masculine football player.

I requested to review this book from the narrator, author or publisher via Audiobook Boom.

Short and Sweet!

This story had a rocky start, but the more I listened the more the plot drew me in, and left me feeling satisfied. I would rate the story somewhere between 3 and 4 stars.

This H/h hit off! Nick came from money but had a down to earth personality. He was looking for a meaningful relationship and found it in April. April, on the other hand, came from a different social class, and was working towards her law degree. I liked they hit it off and didn't have all the normal push/pull in romance stories.

I loved this story

I loved this story. I found these characters so incredibly real with all their flaws and demons. The story is an emotional roller coaster as Blake, 2 years after the death of his wife, is still struggling to let go of his guilt and move on with his life. Hannah was just the ray of sunshine Blake needed to really take a look at his life and deal with all the issues holding him back. Even when he tries to push her away she challenges him and shows him how wonderful life could really be if he would just give it a try.

I loved everything about this book and I think you will too. I definitely recommend it.

I love the Alpha Dog men!

As usual Codi Gary knows how to draw me into a story! I loved Blake and Hannah's story! It was heartwarming to watch Blake fall in love and get over his past. Hannah was such a sweet, fun character. I could imagine being friends with her. I mean who doesn't love a girl with her head in a book? :) I would definitely recommend this book!

Holding Out for a Hero by Codi Gary.....OMG, I loved this book, I could not put it down. I felt like I was on a roller coaster and loved every minute. I absolutely love the story between Blake and Hannah, it was so enjoyable. As always Codi Gary delivers a fantastic story that you will want to read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance readers copy of this book.

Loved it!

Great addition to an already great series. Blake was a bit frustrating at times but so worth it in the end. I also loved that Hannah was a plus size heroine but it wasn't a central issue. Can't wait for more!

Not My Favorite

What did you love best about Warm Hearts in Winter?

I love Helen Pollards Little French Guesthouse books. So I decided to branch out and was very disappointed. The narration was so bad I stopped listening and checked it out from the library to finish reading it. The story itself was okay- it's a quick read without much of an arc.

Sweet and Clean

Grace Devon is a new author to me. I have listened to other books by the narrator Barbara Nevins Taylor and enjoy her style. This is a clean romance between doctors in a hospital setting. I'd rate the book between G and PG (not because of language or sexual steam, but age appropriateness of story). I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher, and/or narrator.

Cute short story

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. I thought this book was cute. Being a short story the author really couldn't develop the characters to their fullest. If you liked Grays Anatomy, this is very similar, except there were characters sleeping in every closet on the TV show and in this instance, it is a sin to do it at this teaching hospital. Anyway, TV and book hospitals still have sexy, intelligent doctors. I know there are still some out there, but very hard to find. Besides, I don't think I would want a sexy doctor, as my doctor. The suspense in this story surrounding Dr. Pace, and you weren't sure where it was going to end up. The narrator did a great job with the characters and the story.

Sweet story

A sweet love story. I've always been fascinated by the medical field and I enjoyed reading a romance in that setting.

Short and Sweet

Her Chief Resident is an enjoyable workplace romance. It's pretty short so there isn't a lot of character development, but in a quick read like this that's okay. The characters are likeable and I found myself enjoying the various arcs the book has for them.

The narrator was top notch! She did a fantastic job portraying the characters and emotions in the story!

Danielle, the female lead, has had a crush on her Boss, Jack, in the worse way and has tried to ignore it..

This book has Potential but it is too short in length.

Because the book is more of a short story and not a full novel, it did not have enough time to develop the relationship between the two characters.

Barbara Nevins Taylor did really well with the narration.

Overall, this was an ok Romance with a few Twists.

I rated the book 3 stars and the narrator 4 stars.

Good

Lack of communication at its finest.

Zach and Missy were step siblings for one year. When his mother left, he stuck around. Missy has never had a problem with keeping their relationship familial, until recently that is. Turns out he wants her too but these two dance around telling each other the truth for years!

I will say that once Zach lets his feelings known he is quite sweet. However, I will also point out once again that if you like someone, do not continue to sleep around with others!

I would have liked to have had at least one chapter in Zach's POV as well just so we could get his voice, his unguarded thoughts.

Book candy

This is another short story in the series that's an off-shoot of the Beaufort Brides. Again this is a nice little romance without too much drama. The main characters were once related briefly when his mother was married to her father. They've continued their relationship because they both still work for her father. They are more than just friends but are both afraid to act on it - not knowing how the other one feels. If you've enjoyed the other books in the series then you'll enjoy this one too.

Liked it but wanted more!

I wish we could give half stars! 3.5 stars for this one...

I love this author and have read many of her books....several of them more than once and are in my favorites folder on my kindle. Noelle is one of the few authors (in my opinion) that can write a great novella. I also have read and enjoyed every single 'one night' book...some more than others of course.

I loved the plot. I loved both Zach and Missy. I liked seeing the previous characters from book one and the Beaufort Brides (this is a spin off series from that series). And, I also appreciate the fact that you don't have to read the other books in the series to enjoy them. They are all stand alone reads but if you do read them in order I think you will enjoy them more of course. I think that is probably true for series in general.

However, it just wasn't "enough" of a story for me and it felt too short/quick/needed more to have that satisfied feeling at the end of reading a book. I am looking forward to the next book and hope it's perhaps a bit longer!

Zach and Missy

Zach's mother married Missy's father. The marriage only lasted about a year but Zach had opted to stay. He moved out when he was 18 but he still worked for her father's nursery. A very good story in about 90 pages.

Really unusual story by this author. I really enjoyed the characters in this story. I will continue to read this author's books.

Read out of order~

Even though I read the books out of order, they were still easy enough to follow. This is the first book with an introduction into the Brody brothers and the Miller sisters. Opposite world's and ways yet these characters fit so well together. Hook-ups and suspense are made for some interesting reading. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This Story Hooked Me

This story was so gritty and real, it wasn't hearts and butterflies it was a heartbreaking love story that just sucked you in. The story starts present day but through out the book you get flashbacks to 11 years earlier and what happened that put Cole and Gabi in the situations they are in right now.

Gabi is one of my favorite heroines EVER. She is so strong through out the book and her feelings were so real. Cole is the bad boy male lead in the book and he fits it perfectly. He had a rough start at life but he's trying to do better and you start off seeing him try to do better before Gabi even comes in the picture. I absolutely loved how Cole and Gabi were drawn to each other but they didn't just have Insta-love and get right back together, you saw and felt their feelings in the book and where they were with their recoveries.

Julia Farmer did a great job at the narrating, her voice was perfect for Gabi and Cole and the feel of the story.

I really liked this story. It jumped back and forth from the present to 11 years earlier when Cole and Gabby were in high school and fell in love.In the present Cole just finished 10 years in prison and Gabby was in the army and lost a leg in an explosion

They were separated by making the choices and and speaking to one another. These two loved each other deeply and 10 years didn't change that. Gabby felt betrayed and guilty and Cole felt she may never forgive him.

I generally hate stories where there is so much time that passes for a second chance at love, but this was treated in a way that wasn't so painful to read. II loved both ole and Gabby and the ending to the story

Julia Farmer`s performance did, she has the most beautiful story telling voice.

Not sure, and really I try to enjoy every new book/story for what it is in that moment. I very rarely compare books, that is unless they are very similar.

The emotion!! and OH MAN the cliff-y on this one!!! counting down the days for September CG!!

Itâs always an honor and a privilege to read these stories before the public but let me just say that I have bought into these characters and their story and their lives and I wait on pins and needles for the next words that this author writes just like everyone else!!

Once again I find myself searching for the words to explain this installment but how do I review and what do I say without giving away the plotâ This month is a true emotional roller coaster!! I just KNEW that I had the twist figured out and then another turn completely threw me for a loop!

And the emotionâ sitting at work (we own our own business so I can read between customers) bawling my eyes out and reading faster and faster to see where the story is goingâ what a fantastic journey!! And OH MAN! the cliffhanger on this one is just too much! Iâm counting down the days until September Calendar Girl comes out. I guarantee that I will be dropping whatever I might be reading to see what happens in Vegas!

This month's book was a lot different from the other months and I really liked it. In this book Mia wasn't really there to help fix someone else's problems but more to have some truths, her truths, come out.

It was great to see that her relationship with Wes has moved on to something more and that her relationship with her sister is still solid.

I liked the narration but she doesnt do male voices at all and with male povs its kinda needed.

The heroine jumps from guy to guy to guy. She's having "feelings she's never felt before" for like three different guys. I feel bad for the hero. Loyalty is important to me and this heroine definitely want the loyal type.

Within two or three chapters, the heroine went from being a spoiled brat to being so hard worker which just isn't likely. There was no transition phase, just one extreme to the other.

SPOILER: another thing that I found to be very wrong is that a main character died and the hero and heroine stood over the dead body and talked about their relationship problems. Like dude there's a dead body right next to you and instead of being in shock or crying out in grief, you're apologizing for going to a party? Really?

Another thing to be aware of is that the hero talks like a country bumpkin. Being that this is a country story, that makes sense, but it drove me absolutely bonkers.

So all in all, if you're into the type of story where the main characters are sloppy and all over the place plus the characters fit their cliches perfectly this book is for you!

Good try

Good try at a country romance. The writing is a bit off, like you are reading a mix of a historical romance-western romance-young adult romance. There is not way to tell on a timeline in the story. Author makes the characters sound like country hicks. Author should really have info about a place before writing about it.

This "book" needs to be re-edited, details rechecked, timeline gone over.

Yes there are still good people out there in the world! There is no need to make them seem like back woods country hicks!

Dense writing that is poorly (if at all) edited

I've read a fair number of western contemporary romances. This is the first one where the characters sound like B-movie stereotypes. Now, I have never been to Montana, and I'm sure they have their western dialects there (and I hail from the Boston area, so I understand about accents and stereotypes. There's always some truth to them). But both the dialogue and narrative is hokey.
